It's either PSN load issues with the new games, the new PS TV users, and the online burden caused by Destiny and Driveclub, OR it could just be a bunch of idiots trying to rip the whole thing down for some stupid reason, be it console wars, Driveclub, or #gamergate. I bought a 4 hour rental on PS Now, and it went down an hour later.
I believe the PS4 only sold as much as it did on the wave of Sony's trumping of Microsoft at E3 2013, since none of the PS4's games can be seen as great leaps forward like what the PS2 had. PS4/X1 is mostly just a solidification of the trends set forward at the end of the last generation. Indie games are a thing now at least.
@GooRoo I played it on a Plus trial, and I'm not exactly rolling around on the floor with it. It's fun and pretty, but devoid of any lasting appeal beyond collectibles. Play Killzone Mercenary, which has active multiplayer and a replayable single-plsyer mode, for a good AAA action game.
You could consider that the people putting out the gamez aren't ready or can't be bothered with the demos, or they already showed it at a more prestigious convention.
@Boerewors It's sad that I found out how good the Vita was by way of Persona 4, and my friend only got a Vita based on my positive word of mouth and the presence of the Sly games.
It's like when Sony decided to take a shot at Microsoft during this year's E3. If it weren't for Persona, and the fact that Xbox One versions of Japanese games will likely be subpar, I'd be fine with sticking with Xbox.
@Diddy_kong Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable, if you can play JRPGs. The segemented structure makes them perfect for portable play. Playing FES on PS2 was almost painful by comparison. They are long and replayable, especially P3P with it's alternate female route.
@danny2kd that's pretty much impossible for games like Tearaway, Murasaki Baby, or Little Deviants. But the list will get updated as they get more games working, and as more games come out. Minecraft and Freedom Wars are confirmed for PS TV, but aren't out yet.
@Cyrso That 2.5D AC game made me think that too. I was thinking it'd be best for it to be a DL Vita exclusive, and then get kicked up to PS4/X1 later, like AC: Liberation or Arkham Origins: Blackgate. I hope, though, that this is a real AC game and not just a sidescroller like AC II: Discovery on DS. It could get a full Vita sequel if it gets well received. @danny2kd I know it isn't BAD, it's just that 720p gets a reaaaaally bad rap after Xbox One's issues in that area.
@get2sammyb there is a new trailer for it on Amazon, and their using the line "something for everyone" next to lying about the vita's version of the Lego Movie.
I think Sony's trying to nail down the casual family audience in America, since it's bundled with a Lego game and has a special promotion for Wal-Mart shoppers, the freakin' home of the casuals in America.
@Chouzetsu They don't think it'd be worth doing, since so many players are on PS, and to make it truly exclusive, they'd need to rip basic product ownership from the people who bought PS4 and PS3/Vita. To do that would not drive people to Xbox, to say the least. It would cause a mass boycott of the Xbox One at worst, which, combined from last year's always on fallout, and this year's Tomb Raider BS, will KILL the Xbox One.
@DualWielding If that's true, then this is a bunch of old people in a board room basically just buying what kids like these days, which worked out soooooo well for Rare.
@get2sammyb Do they know it's Christmas time? #sarcasm Still, me and my friend have been watching closely for Minecraft Vita, and we're both dissapointed.
@Zombie_Barioth I was thinking that Sony could run an ad push for the Vita on kid's TV ("Hey! This handheld has the complete Minecraft experience! And also has Terraria, Sly Cooper, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, and moar!") or on Crunchyroll, Hulu, Toonami or Funimation ("Hey! We've got Dagonronpa 1 & 2, Persona 4 Golden, Freedom Wars, Natural Doctrine, Disgaea 3 & 4, and moar!")
@CanisWolfred Atlus, even then, is really bad at publishing in Europe. Shin Megami Tensei IV came out here in America a year ago, and Europe is only getting it this September. Even if they announced the Western launch of Phantasy Star 2 Online tommorrow, the date locked down would be at least 2 years in the future, and 5 for Europeans.
@SimonAdebisi That could work. Putting free Vita games in with big PS4 titles could work to incentivize purchase of the Vita. It's like Persona 4 Arena Ultimax's week one free DLC, where if you get the DLC free, you'll think "Hai, I got free DLC for that game, and I can play it if I get that game!"
I have the sneaking suspicion that Sony has a horrible habit of spreading itself way too thin. They're following bandwagons for the most part. Oculus became popular, and now they're got Morpheus. Wii was popular, so they jumped in with Move. If they abandoned the TVs and laptops, they might be fine.
I find the YOLO: I Play Games That Matter one even more frustrating than YOLO normally is, because that implicitly states an ignorance of smaller games, because ONLY AAA GAMES MATTER. Commence Childish Assumptions About the Sexuality of Fellow Commenters
They have this idea that Americans only buy the latest games, would kill for pre-order bonuses, and cannot take the idea that girls can play or star in games. Which is why the Greatness Awaits painting looks like a frickin' sausage fest, as does most of the PS4 marketing. Why would Americans want a game with a girl hero?

Re: Review: The Muppets Movie Adventures (PlayStation Vita)
@Not-Another-Ad And why is it Vita exclusive, of all platforms? It just raises more questions.
Re: Soapbox: Gaming's Greatest Fireworks Display Still Resides Inside the PS2
@SteveButler2210 Barett is best waifu.
Re: Slick PS4 Shooter Resogun Will Save the Last Humans on Vita
Wasn't that game a gigantic PS4 graphics fest?
Re: Yes, There Will Be Exciting Game Announcements at PlayStation Experience
@NaughtyOttsel22 I was freakin' livid as a Vita fan after E3 and Gamescom.
Re: Yes, There Will Be Exciting Game Announcements at PlayStation Experience
I NEED VITA GAMES.

@Knux If you get this, you'll get the PS4 version too.

Re: Kingdom Hearts III Levels Up with Unreal Engine 4 Support
@ShogunRok FF XV uses it, and it's only been a year since we first saw it in it's Luminous Engine form.
Re: Whoa, LittleBigPlanet 3 Features a Seriously Star-Studded Voice Cast
@get2sammyb I'd buy two copies if I got to hear Troy Baker in this yelling like Kanji Tatsumi.
Re: Reaction: EGX London Hammers Another Nail in PS Vita's Coffin
You could consider that the people putting out the gamez aren't ready or can't be bothered with the demos, or they already showed it at a more prestigious convention.
Re: This Enormous PS4 Bundle Is Bordering on Parody
America please. We like really big stuff over here apparently. Look at our Walmarts.

I think the games will come when PS TV starts to sell.

Re: Kingdom Hearts III Development Purportedly Progressing to Plan
@feelthesarcasm It's not very long, like 25 hours. Then again, it was the first 3DS game I owned, and I didn't hjave much to play outside of that.
Re: Surprise! Far Cry 4 Will Score a PS4 Hardware Bundle at Launch
I'd rather get the Dragon Quest PS4. That sucker looks DIVINE.
Re: Kingdom Hearts III Development Purportedly Progressing to Plan
Y U TAKE SO LONG
Re: The Invizimals Appear on PS3 and Vita in North America Next Week
I saw these titles kicking around the new Vita releases this week.

Re: Poll: Are You in Tune with the PlayStation TV?
@Cyrso If the casuals bite and start buying Vita games, we'll see more Vita games being made. C:
Re: Poll: Are You in Tune with the PlayStation TV?
@danny2kd It all is upscaled from 960x544 to 720p, on the Japan model. Then again, the 1 GB of hard drive wasn't on the white Japan model.
Re: Poll: Are You in Tune with the PlayStation TV?
@danny2kd Hulu Plus, Crackle, Netflix, Crunchyroll are all on Vita. All it needs is HBO Go.
Re: Poll: Are You in Tune with the PlayStation TV?
@Dodoo Not without some serious modding it isn't.

Re: TGS 2014: Yosuke, Chie, and Kanji Get Their Groove On in This New Persona 4 Dancing All Night Trailer
If it leaves the P3 or PQ music out, I'm calling DLC right now.
Re: TGS 2014: Type-0 Companion Final Fantasy Agito Is Coming to PS Vita
I'd be fine with this. Though, Type-0 skipping Vita is at least 12 flavas of insulting.
Re: TGS 2014: Wait, Could Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Be Lurking to Vita?
I think it might be like the FF Type-0 HD gaffe.
Re: TGS 2014: Wait, Could Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Be Lurking to Vita?
I think the Vita can do it, given what the first game pulled off in the tightly constrained 3DS.

@Morrowbie It is weird that we are selling the thing for them on word-of-mouth instead of them telling people how good the Vita is.
Re: Free-To-Play LittleBigPlanet Tie-In Run SackBoy! Run! is Dashing onto Vita
@artemisthemp I'm thinking something like an infinite Rayman Jungle Run, with buyable powerups and customizations.

Uh, the clunky controls are deliberate, since the game wants you to overcome them.
