@Northern_munkey This is why I and my daughter went to see it, even with the wonky casting (for my opinion, most of the female cast were all put in as older than their character should be, Tanis, Lilith, Moxie). It was just the b-movie, sci-fi romp that I was expecting. It DID hit the Borderlands vibes, and the story really made as much sense as any of the Borderlands game stories do. Would I pay to see it again? Probably not. Am I upset and angry that I paid the one time to see it? Definitely not. We enjoyed it, and I'll probably pick it up when it comes out to add to my own b-rate movie collection (things like this, Super Mario Bros, Big Trouble in Little China, Buckaroo Bonzai, etc. I absolutely love to make a bucket of popcorn at home and watch).
Its a roguelite deck-builder card battler. You don't need to say anything else. I'm in. These may be a dime a dozen, but its still one of my new all time favorite genres of games. I'll still need to see how much it is before taking the plunge, but I'm pretty sure I can say for certain that I'll pick it up at some point if not right away.
Personally, I really REALLY liked Tiny Tina's Wonderland. I loved the setting, being an old school D&D player from way back. The characters were a lot of fun. HOWEVER, having said all that, I've never been able to finish the game because of a MASSIVE bug that I've reported on before, and have had happen multiple times: started a single-player game, then later joined my daughters on their games. As soon as I quit out, MY progress was reset to...I believe it was mission 4, and no matter how far I would go in my own campaign it would always reset my story progress back to that part...but my character's level/stats/abilities would stay at where they were. Eventually somehow it corrected itself during another multiplayer game, but then happened again on the last one. It just got so frustrating, that I deleted the game and didn't want to continue. I WANTED to get to the end, but just trying to get there was like beating my head against the wall.
I've tried many times to upgrade my service from Extra to Premium, but the PS store never lets me do so. I can buy games all day long, but never upgrade the service. There is always an error when I tried. So I've basically just given up on that and am happy with Premium.
I'm still just waiting on Blue Protocol. That has all my anime hype up until it actually finds a release and I can get my hands on it! Like Genshin, tried Honkai but it wasn't as much my thing. I prefer the more open world adventure of Genshin. I wonder how this one is supposed to go?
I've played Fortnite occasionally with my daughters, but its never been my favorite of the "battle royale" genre (I am REALLY into the new Farlight 84, however). These new game modes, however, I find all incredibly fun...but I totally agree, the prices for the shop pieces for each mode (especially the cars) is pretty obscene. Yes, yes, I know...its all optional and I don't have to buy into any of them. But prices like THAT actively make me NOT want to purchase any of them, as much as I would want to use them in the various game modes. Its a shame, because there are several things I WOULD purchase from the shops for all 3 of the different modes if they weren't priced just so high.
@Deadlyblack It does play a lot like grounded, but with tiny fairies instead of the shrunken down kids. It has survival, building, crafting, etc. I believe from what I've seen of it its also harder than Grounded, and has more players online at a time. I'd thought about getting it on my PC, but will probably hold off for a console launch now (I prefer console to PC mostly).
Okay, I just can't get behind that kind of an argument. ALL consoles have exclusives, even Playstation. So, are the Spider Man games being exclusive to PS hurting the industry? Mario and Zelda being exclusive to Nintendo? Does Sony WANT Redfall on its system? All consoles move numbers on their exclusive content, that's just the way it is. To try and argue now that exclusives are bad, or that it means Microsoft will keep future Bethesda games exclusive with no actual evidence, is rather asinine, in my opinion. And even if they did, Sony has games from studios it owns that are exclusive (IE not on any other system), and they don't hurt the industry either. It breeds competition, innovation, and growth.
Just went and watched some gameplay on YouTube, and I have to say that while I think the idea is great (I love rhythm games) the actual play just seems a bit off-putting to me. Maybe its the way that at times you can hear hits on the beat and timed to the players button presses (which seems really good), but at other times the sounds from the special/strong attacks seem to override the music/beats? That makes it feel a bit confusing to me and I think might make me lose the beat while playing. I'll have to watch a few more to see if its that way through the whole game. If there's a way for me to work around that and keep hearing the beat through the specials, this might be a good game for me. But I'm on the fence now.
@sonicmeerkat No, its not technically "on GamePass". If you have GamePass Ultimate, that gives you access to EA Play, which has a 10 hour demo. Otherwise, you have to pay for it; it is not a GamePass game.
I bought it, and I'm playing it. The game is a lot of fun, the multiplayer hunts are a blast. The performance is...for lack of a better word...bleak. The biggest performance issue I get is the slowdown effect. The game is running fine, then suddenly its like swimming in molasses. Its not frame drops, its the whole game just starts moving in slow motion. I have never seen anything like it in any other game (though I've heard that Nioh 2 had a similar problem). The sound problem is pretty bad sometimes too, but the slowdown is the most frustrating. But if you can fight through the glitches/bugginess/performance issues, the game itself is a lot of fun. Here's to hoping the upcoming "performance patch" the developers have promised REALLY helps with the performance!
Also, on console, you definitely have to play in "performance" over "quality" (or whatever its called in game) mode..."quality mode" is anything but on all consoles (I know for a fact it is on Xbox X) or so I've heard.
@Totheteeth I don't think I would say that. Josh of RageGaming (who I always go to for MonHun stuff) appears to be thrilled with the game after going in for almost 50 hours. The game looks VERY much MonHun influenced in just about all ways, which is a pretty good thing in my book (as MH is my favorite series of all time). I'm really looking forward to this one!
@Bentleyma Ooohhh... Just checked the Twitter like you said. Looks like there was some kind of PSO2 news thing TODAY, and the release of the game on PS is TOMORROW. Talk about confusing. Thanks for the heads up!
Are you sure its supposed to be out today? The PS store hasn't updated with any new titles all day so far. Been checking off and on for a few hours now, since I want to get this started downloading!
I've always loved the Star Ocean games. This looks like maybe its an open world RPG, in a similar vein to Xenoblade Chronicles? Not the standard combat of older Star Ocean games, for sure, but I am very much ready to give a new one a go!
@RedRiot193 Thanks much! Appreciate it. Guess I still have another couple of hours to wait then. I wonder what the file size will be like, and what I'll need to unload from my PS5 to download it. lol
Anybody have an idea on what time this is supposed to launch in NA? I don't know when the PS store updates over here, and I'm quite ready to give this a go! I've tried many F2P games over the years, and though yes...they can be riddled with microtransactions...they can also be a lot of fun when given a chance (and have the will to ignore spending and you enjoy a good grind).
I'm going to assume that this will run on my PS5? I still have my PS4 hooked up to an alternate TV, but I haven't really turned it on in months since I got my PS5. I'd rather play there (on my PS5) than have to boot up my older PS4 to give this a shot. I could try it out on my Xbox, I suppose, but I'm really enjoying how the PS5 feels when I'm playing on it. (Though I'm still waiting on Genshin Impact on my Switch, darn it all!)
