Re: Yakuza 4's PS4 Remaster Gets a Beating in New Gameplay Footage

IneptRebel

Just finishing up Y4 on PS3 so interesting to see the comparison. Great that weā€™re getting these in the West - remasters might not have the same punch as the Kiwami treatment but having updated versions of the whole series available on one console is bound to boost sales and increase the fandom and that can only be a good thing šŸ‘šŸ»

Re: Yakuza Remastered Collection Confirmed, Yakuza 3 Is Out Today on PS4

IneptRebel

Yeessss! Happy person right here! I was fairly certain the remasters would come West eventually but having loved 0, Kiwami, & K2 I couldn't wait when I saw 4, 5, and Dead Souls for PS3 in one of PSNs many sales for under Ā£12 total (I'd grabbed an old disc of 3) so I could play through the story in order. At least by the time the last of the 'Collection' is released next year I'll be ready to start at 0 and play them all through again in glorious PS4ness šŸ˜

Re: Interview: Discussing Judgment's English Dub and Much More with Lead Voice Actor Greg Chun

IneptRebel

Great interview šŸ‘šŸ» Iā€™m a late comer to the Yakuza series but am totally a fan so Judgement will be a welcome addition to my gaming backlog. Itā€™ll be interesting to play with an English dub as Iā€™ve really enjoyed the Japanese audio of the main series. I suspect Iā€™ll stick with that overall but will definitely give Greg and the other actors a listen too as itā€™s obvious theyā€™ve made a real effort to capture the feel of the game.

Re: PlayStation Could Have Fresh Competition in Stadia, Google's New Game Streaming Platform

IneptRebel

Certainly sounds an ambitious project for future gaming. It'll be incredible if they can make it work and, most importantly, support it properly during the early years as I think this is going to be something that will take several years to develop into what they envisage. Sadly itā€™s not for me though, Iā€™d much rather own (or more realistically long term rent in the case of digital downloads) a full complete game that I can play whenever I want and that will work even if no internet connection. I hope PlayStation will continue to put out high quality single player offline games for gaming dinosaurs like me! šŸ¦–

Re: Google Poised to Announce Potential PlayStation Competitor

IneptRebel

Itā€™ll be interesting to see what they have lined up but I already feel a bit of an outsider in the world of modern gaming - I think Iā€™m gonna admit to being too old to keep up! Iā€™ve been gaming since I was 9 and have now hit my 40s. PlayStation in all its incarnations has been my mainstay and there are more than enough games to last me until Iā€™m a senile old buffer. Iā€™m ok with digital games backed up to hard drive but am concerned that games are now too often incomplete or rely on online connectivity that as well as being affected by internet availability elements can be seemingly be removed at whim by publishers/platforms. Streaming raises even more concerns for me - reliability, security, etc and if this is where Google are headed (as seems likely) then I think Iā€™ll just watch from the sidelines; whilst playing Tekken 3 on my PS1 šŸ˜

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 263

IneptRebel

I should be starting up Assassins Creed Odyssey but itā€™s been a rough week so Iā€™m feeling the need for the gaming equivalent of comfort food so itā€™s off to Thedas again for some Dragon Age Inquisition - Iā€™ve already got the Platinum but thereā€™s a couple of trials trophies left to pin down so thatā€™s a good excuse as any for a replay!

Re: Devil May Cry 5 - Devil May Cry Back to Its Absolute Best

IneptRebel

Great to hear that this is Devil May Cry as it should be! I picked the original up pre-owned on a whim years back; I knew nothing about it and was blown away. Even though my combat skills leave a lot to be desired Iā€™ve remained a fan (Iā€™ve even played DMC2 more than once šŸ˜). Was unimpressed by the reboot so a return to form is a joy - itā€™ll be hitting my console just as soon as my budget permits.

Re: Site News: Push Square Is Now Ten Years Old (We Think)

IneptRebel

Congratulations folks! Since discovering PushSquare itā€™s been my go to for gaming news and the quality of reviews has helped me try new games I would otherwise have missed out on šŸ‘šŸ» Plus itā€™s somewhere where itā€™s safe to read the comment section! šŸ˜ Keep it up! āļø

Re: Legendary UK Magazine GamesMaster to End After 25 Years

IneptRebel

Ah GamesMaster! The excitement over each new issue, all those memories. But I have to confess I havenā€™t bought a games mag in years. Part of it is a natural, gradual change to online (just as with game purchases) but I also think that as Iā€™ve aged Iā€™ve moved away from things, or been pulled away, probably all that serious real world stuff gets in the way, which is a shame. I will be sad to see it go but pleased that the staff are to be redeployed in house.

Re: Scarily Good Deals Arrive on European PS Store in Halloween Sale

IneptRebel

Iā€™ve been tempted by Layers of Fear so many times as it looks fantastic but Iā€™ve just never got into horror as a genre for films or games (though I did read everything by James Herbert in my teens). Reckon itā€™s about time to give in and give it a try though, even if I do need to play it with the lights on šŸ˜

Re: Poll: If PSN Name Changes Are Really Happening, Will You Change Yours?

IneptRebel

Hmm... I suppose I could be tempted to change mine as I tried a bit too hard to be clever when I first set it up so it doesnā€™t feel as genuine as my user ID here, but Iā€™ve had it for years now and Iā€™ve just got accustomed to it. Itā€™s a bit trying-to-be-cool-but-failing, but I guess thatā€™s a reasonable description of me anyway! (itā€™s LadyChatsalot for those of you wanting a good chuckle šŸ˜)

Re: PlayStation Plus October 2018 Games Announced

IneptRebel

Nothing immediately jumps out at me but Iā€™ll have a closer look as sometimes a random monthly game turns out to be a lot of fun. In any event Iā€™ve still got a Plus backlog and have already enjoyed enough titles this year to make the membership worth it so Iā€™m not gonna grumble.

Re: TGS 2018: Death Stranding Continues to Confound with the Man in the Golden Mask

IneptRebel

Everything is better with Troy Baker šŸ˜„ I love the fact that several trailers in I still have no idea what this game is about or how it plays! I do get fed up with hearing too much detail about games way in advance of release - I love being surprised by games; yes sometimes you get disappointed but nothing beats the wow feeling of discovering something amazing as you play.

Re: Review: Yakuza 0 (PS4)

IneptRebel

Just wanted to pop in and thank @ShogunRok for bringing the Yakuza series to my attention - just grabbed this entry in one of the (seemingly endless) PSN sales and itā€™s bonkers, but brilliant! If youā€™re wanting to try something totally unlike anything else youā€™ve ever played then this could be the game for you.

Re: PlayStation Plus September 2018 Games Announced

IneptRebel

Wow, thatā€™s a helluva selection. Already played GOW3 remastered but traded it in so this freebie will be a handy addition to my rainy day library. Never really been interested in Destiny 2 but this is too good an opportunity to miss, gives me a chance to see what the game feels like (suspect itā€™s not my thing but thatā€™s the great thing about the monthly Plus games - theyā€™re a great chance to try games outside your usual taste without risk). Will enjoy exploring some of the other offerings too.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Dragon Quest XI PS4 Review?

IneptRebel

Appreciate the explanation- itā€™s this kind of professionalism that keeps me visiting Push Square as my main source of gaming info. Itā€™s obvious you all take pride in putting out quality content, and that is well worth any occasional review delay. šŸ‘šŸ»

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 229

IneptRebel

@bonbonetti Iā€™m late to the Saints too, not sure how I overlooked them but it was a lovely surprise to get stuck into the series and have so much fun - I agree about the trend for dark and serious; thereā€™s nothing wrong with that but a bit of silly too works wonders. Just nabbed SR2&3 in the Summer of Plus sale to catch up!

Re: Feature: Push Square's Ultimate PlayStation Character Has Been Decided

IneptRebel

Missed the early rounds as they were before I became a regular reader but joined in with a few votes where I felt I had a fair awareness of both characters and overall itā€™s been good fun and Iā€™d happily join in from the start for a new one - perhaps something a little more restricted, either by console gen or genre, would bring out some interesting choices, especially for those of us old enough to remember back to PSOne days šŸ˜€ Nice work @ShogunRok, look forward to the next one, when youā€™ve recovered! šŸ‘šŸ»

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 229

IneptRebel

Having a blast with Saints Row IV: Re-Elected. Decided to go with an old skool hair metal spandex wearing Boss (with the Troy Baker voice of course) and I havenā€™t had so much unadulterated fun from a game in ages - itā€™s just so ridiculous and it knows it so you can let reality take a back seat and just enjoy. The Third and SR2 are currently on sale so I may pick those up too.

Re: Guide: Which Yakuza Games to Play and a Yakuza Series Beginners Guide

IneptRebel

Excellent article, thanks for taking the time for us newcomers. Been thinking about getting started on this series for a while but wasnā€™t sure how it would work if I didnā€™t run through all the games in order (given the huge time/money investment needed for that). Good to know I can jump right in with 0 and useful to have a heads up about what to expect from the series.

Re: Guide: The Best PS4 RPGs

IneptRebel

Spent a truly ridiculous amount of hours roaming Dragon Age Inquisition! Some excellent suggestions here, obvious well known titles such as TW3 (which definitely earns its number one spot) plus some more overlooked titles busily adds Odin Sphere, Zodiac Age and more to wishlist
