Re: Hideo Kojima Isn't a Fan of Calling Death Stranding PS5 'Director's Cut'

Iroha

@somnambulance Absolutely, sometimes you just love a game! For whatever reason. I'm like that with FF15. I know the general concensus is that it's rubbish but I loved every. single. second in it. Don't ask me why cause I can see the points other people make about the game but it just grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go. So few games do that nowadays. Anyhoo, I'ma gonna re-download DS and mopp up the last trophies for the plat now. Talking about it has put me in the mood! lol

Re: Hideo Kojima Isn't a Fan of Calling Death Stranding PS5 'Director's Cut'

Iroha

@somnambulance I think that's the best way to explain the game. I played it and enj9oyed it and the bits I enjoyed most were the almost zen like traversal through the world. Fixing my load, making sure I was ready for any eventuallity and building my network of zips so I could then easily make deliveries etc. I almost would have preffered it with no combat at all. It's not a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination (any game where you have to inventory management in the middle of a boss fight is a no-no to me) there were sharp cuts in tone and gameplay that left me with whiplash and too many repetitive cutscenes but overall I enjoyed the game. I mean, that moment you crest the hill, after struggling so much, and you see Port Knot City in the distance and then the music kicks in. 'chef's kiss'

Re: Death Stranding Director's Cut PS5 Upgrade Costs $10

Iroha

@rjejr being a ps5 owner I never really thought about it from that angle. (I plan on just buying the expansion for ps4 and playing it ). So I suppose from that regard the GOT is including everybody. But I feel the messaging was way off. I love GOT, it was my fav game of last year but I was really put off by the whole thing so won't be upgrading (although I will buy the expansion) whereas Death Stranding is a game I thought was ok, I'm probably going to upgrade on Day One. I know it seems completely arbitrary but that's humans for you! lol.

Re: Reaction: Messy Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Makes PS5 for the Payers

Iroha

@JJ2 Erm no, you cannot upgrade to the PS5 version for free. It's £10 to keep the base game and upgrade to native PS5. If you want the dlc thrown in it's £30 then. So the disinformation is coming from you. £20 for dlc, £10 for upgrade. Either way it's more expensive for those fans who have already bought the game, you know, the ones who made the thing a hit in the first place.

I mean, i'm not buying it either way. Just for the principle I'm gonna wait and buy the dlc when it's on sale and I'll wait and pick up the directors cut physical in a years or so when it's down to a tenner. If they'd made the upgrade free, I'd have paid for the dlc day one. 'shrugs'

Re: GreedFall PS5 Version Available to Download Now

Iroha

Was it a bit janky? Yes. Did I still enjoy it? Yes. It was priced appropriately and I enjoyed my time with it. If it had been £70 it might have been a different story but I thought it was a solid enough game. Luckily I bought it physical after the price went down so I'll get a nice little upgrade. Sweet.

Re: Bethesda Apologises to PS5, PS4 Fans 'P*ssed' at Exclusivity

Iroha

PS5 owners can't be hypocrites. We crow over our exclusives then cry when MS has them? You can rage against MS business practices yes but complain about the exclusivity of a title? Hmm it looks bad.

I do feel bad for previous players of Bethesda games but having not been a big fan of them in the past, I'm not really surprised at this.

Re: Reaction: Xbox Game Pass Is the Thorn in PS5's Side

Iroha

@themightyant Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to use the UI cause I find it baffling? What I really want is to declutter the screen and take off all the ads for games I am never going to play. SO MANY ADS on the UI. I just want rid of them. lol. Help me senpai!

Re: Reaction: Xbox Game Pass Is the Thorn in PS5's Side

Iroha

I havn't read all the replies and if someone has already made this point 'm sorry.

While the value of gamepass is going up in the next couple of years the main issue for me is still 'How long?'

Yes you have a subscription but they control all the content. So you don't own any of it and it can get pulled from gamepass at any time. I suppose it is great value if you have to play every new game that comes out but I'm pretty selective with my gaming choices.

I did buy a series s this gen and will probably play 'Like a Dragon' on there and 'MLB 21' but really that's all that's on there right now that interests me.

I hate that they are control in everything and you have no say. I prefer to have my discs cause then as long as I have the hardware I can play 'em. That's worth the premium for the games for me.

(Also as an aside, the Series S UI is HORRIBLE! I hate it soo much. It's so cluttered and confusing.)

Re: Talking Point: Did Summer Game Fest: Kickoff Live Blow You Away?

Iroha

Is it just me or is Keighly getting MORE awkward as the years go on? Some of those 'interviews' were cringe. I'd love a presenter that is a wee bit more natural and able to put guests more at ease.

Also it is becoming more and more like a 2 hour commercial than anything else. I was really just meh, this time round.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

Iroha

@Lenny0521 Returnal, Ratchet: Rift Apart, Sackboy, Demon Souls all exclusive to the PS5. The console is only 8 months in the wild. What else do you expect. They probably hadn't even confirmed specs/architecture for PS5 by the time HZD or GOW2 started production.

I am absolutely sure there are next gen exlusives on thier way but to expect every game to be PS5 exclusive 8 months into the lifecycle is strange to me. I mean, GOW2 and HFW were always going to be cross-gen. Given when they started production I wouldn't have expected anything else.

Have a little patience.

Re: Oh Wow, Sounds Like a Marvel XCOM Game Is on the Way

Iroha

@theheadofabroom This. I'm kind of gutted cause I was sure we might hear something soon but yeah now I kind of doubt it. I just want glorious cistomisation, loads of new maps and abilities and classes. Aww it makes me smile just thinking about it! And it's going to be even further away now probably.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

Iroha

I just don't understand this whole 'holding the PS5' back argument. Holding it back from what? 60FPS? 120fps? 4/8K graphics? So aesthetics then, not gameplay.

If that's what you require to enjoy a game, I suggest you go buy a high end gaming pc at around £3000-£4000. This is a site about a console which has always been the cheaper, more affordable way to game. If you want high end PC specs in a £450 console then, yes, you are going to be disappointed and 'next gen' is going to be a letdown.

Gameplay even in PC games hasn't had a massive leap forward, mainly due to scaleability, you don't see PC players losing thier minds? And accusing publishers of lying to them?

This is such a weird argument for the community to be having IMO. And is not a good look on gamers tbh. But then the gaming community at large has never showered itself in glory.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

Iroha

To everyone saying 'oh we've been lied to!' show me where , in black and white, it said God Of War 2 and Horizion Forbidden West were going to be PS5 only?? Because otherwise , no, you haven't been lied to. Do you feel foolish for inferring something that wasn't actually said? Probably. Do you need to maybe think for yourself for once instead of listening to the echo chamber of a minorty on Twitter or here? Maybe. You'll not be mortally offended at every turn that way.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

Iroha

@Omniicron The system is 9 months old. What was the true next gen game that came out on PS4? Was it launch? I doubt it. I cannot believe what I think is an incredibly entitled and selfish attitude for what is a MINORITY. I mean, yeah, Sony is gonna say, lets abandon all 110 million people who own a PS4 and only release our tentpole IP's on a new system that only has an install base of 25 million (and that's being generous). WHat are you all expecting?

It actually makes my mind boggle.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4) - An Enriching, Engrossing, Excellent Trilogy, Now Better Than Ever

Iroha

I think I must be the only person on this planet to think these games are waaaay over-rated and defintely showing thier age despite some new hi-res texture packs.

I tried to play these a couple of years ago (on my PS3) and found the main protags voice acting cringe and wooden and the story was all over the place. I found it really boring and fell of it pretty hard which surprised me cause if there is a 100 hour rpg with plenty of grinding I am usually there for it.

I thought I'd watch a few playthrough before buying this and I am glad I have cause what I'm watching isn't any better than what I played a while back. The nostalgia must be thick with this.

Re: Best PS4 RPGs

Iroha

@Boldfoxrd Coming here to say the same thing. Obvs been penalised for not 'being the whole game'. I think it works amazing as a standalone game and deserves higher. But so does Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Plus Video Pass the Right Way to Expand PS Plus?

Iroha

@get2sammyb because they just point to this and say 'oh but look, we addedd this' , so when the quality of the games offered on PS Plus, or the amount or the level of discount you get becomes less, they go, 'but we added videos and tv to it, look at how generous we are.'

This remind me of XBOX 's mistep with the ONE where they went all in with the 'streaming box' and concentrated in all the apps on the machine instead of having actual games to play on the machine.
Gamers don't really care about movies and tv on our consoles. We just want games.

And to be honest I don't really want an equivalent to gamepass cause then I do feel you lose quality for quantitiy. I also think it devalues games more quickly. Like the buzz around games either doesn't start or fades really quickly cause well, it's just there....

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Sales Top 13 Million Despite Refunds

Iroha

Quick question, this number will include units sold wholesale to game stores online and bricks and mortar right?? So this isn't just individual purchase by people is it?

I find the thought of so many disappointed people who are going to get this for christmas and it's not going to work, really sad.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Sales Top 13 Million Despite Refunds

Iroha

@LiterallyDoNotCare Yes theses are all facts you are correct. But these games you mention are content bare (in some peoples opinion) not broken. So you didn't get a full pokedex, what you did get was a game that ran well on it's intended platform that you could play through all they way to the end with no to little issues. That's not what CDPR released. I fail to see what your comment has to add to the discussion.
