@ralphdibny nope nothing 'free' on Xbox, but the selection of games in Game Pass has seen a significant rise in both quality and quantity these last few weeks.
True about the Play at Home initiative, but wasn't it only the Uncharted collection last year?? Nothing as major as this (I mean 10 bloody games!), which is why I think they are being more generous because of the competition.
Anyway, this is a good thing, and hopefully there will be more of it
Played and beat Zodiac Age a few weeks ago. Great game with some fantastic cutscenes and voice acting. The added speed boost makes grinding fast, enjoyable, and basically non existent.
I get the standard edition of games 99% of the time. I wonder what the purchase ratio is for games with multiple editions.
Part of it is me is proving a point that games should be complete when you buy them! Another part is because for the majority of games that come out, the DLC is mostly doodoo
update: Nice of them to offer this option though I guess.
Physical copies of brand new PS4 games are always 50 pounds (and much less if you know where to look). I always manage to get most new games at around 40-45 pounds day one...
70 pounds in the UK is almost the price of TWO new PS4 games!!
@ShaiHulud my only complaint after reaching the half way point is that the 1st two hours are a slog. Otherwise, exactly like you said: this is an old school PS1 style horror game made for current gen machines!
@Hyperluminal True, they do love their 'handhelds'. I wonder if any stats are available for Japanese Switch gamers' preference regarding handheld vs docked mode. Would be interesing!
Switch has been dominating in Japan, that even when games release on both PS4 and Switch, I think the Switch sales always top the PS4 sales for that game.
Maybe that is what started this whole thing, plus censorship of certain titles?
However, I think it's 100% clear Japan prefers the Switch over the PS4 as its 'primary' console even with its graphical limitations.
@Lovespuds yeah the battles can get repetitive, I was in a dungeon last night in chapter 6 and I think it was corridor after corridor of groups of enemies. It was just a basic sewer looking dungeon.
The game has some fantastic cutscenes and missions, but the battles do get a bit repetitive after a while. I guess this is the same with any turn based rpg though!
Was so good on PC @God_of_Nowt but like you I stopped playing more than a year ago. I think the moment Apex Legends came out and then Warzone after, it was hard to go back to the slow paced tactical gameplay of R6.
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L If you were in a video game without you knowing and a company is profiting millions and millions off of you without your consent, won't that piss you off? Doesn't matter how much you make.
But at the same time, they have been in multiple FIFAs before and PES, so why speak up now?
@ShogunRok That's true regarding the power level. I managed to get a few missions done while 'underlevelled' but the enemies took quite a few hits to take down!! So decided to try and level up a bit first.
Also, I found a 'hidden' location. There was an early green mission I ignored about gathering plants for a potion for a lady at the base. Turns out it takes you to a NEW and MYTHIC location outside the main map with lots of quests... Thank goodness!!
@ShogunRok I hit a brick wall in the main quest, got a sudden jump in story requirement from level 90 to 130!!
I am supposed to tackle Sciropescire next but I'm about 40 levels behind. I have been doing main quests only and I thought Valhalla was supposed to minimise grind.
What's the fastest way to level up? World events and mysteries?
It's almost like they're treating their Xbox and PC fanbase like 2nd class citizens, by charging them the same amount for even less content and features...
Shameful!
Edit: I am getting this on my One X as that is my preferred console of choice for multiplatform games. It does sting everytime something like this happens though.
I actually got Avengers for PS4 because of Spiderman, and that was one of the worst games I have ever played. Never falling for this S*^* again!!

Re: Soapbox: Sony Needs to Bang Down Valve's Door to Get Half-Life: Alyx on PS5's PSVR
Apparently this game is phenomenal. Would be huge for PSVR!
Re: PlayStation Players Get 10 Free PS4 Games This Spring, Including Horizon Zero Dawn
@uptownsoul that's good thinking and I agree, especially if the sequel is for sure coming to PS4 too.

Re: PlayStation Players Get 10 Free PS4 Games This Spring, Including Horizon Zero Dawn
On a side note, this is clearly Sony reacting to Xbox.
So before fanboys of either side get mad, this is why you need competition between consoles!!
Re: PlayStation Players Get 10 Free PS4 Games This Spring, Including Horizon Zero Dawn
Man I would love to jump into Frozen Wilds dlc, but I haven't touched Horizon Zero Dawn since I beat it when it released.
Nevertheless, adding this to my library of course!

Re: Bloodborne, Tokyo Jungle Executive Producer Masami Yamamoto Leaves Sony
'I’ll be able to make games on any platform'.
This is excellent news for both Xbox and PC players, as it means we could all get to experience something like Bloodborne in the future.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 365
Dragon Quest XI S on Switch. It is absolutely fantastic so far, just hope that I don't bored of it because of it's length!
Re: Talking Point: Did Sony's State of Play Livestream Meet Your Expectations?
Maybe I expected too much. This was below average at best. Really poor and unneccessary event.
Re: Days Gone Is Coming to PC
''Mo money, mo money, mo money.''
Smart and welcoming move by Sony, following Xbox footsteps clearly of broadening the audience and their brand.
Actually even Nintendo ported a few games of the Switch to PC already.
edit: Nintendo didn't as others in chat have pointed out, but other Switch publishers did. My bad!

Re: Feature: Could PlayStation Do More to Promote Green Packaging?
I would prefer cases to be the size of PS1 games.
Cut down half of the size of the current form to make it shorter, would be nice!!

Re: New Game+ Expo Returns This March to Showcase Japanese Games
I love Japanese games! The more they are localised the better <3
Re: Upcoming PS5, PS4 Games for February and March 2021
Persona 5 Strikers + Little Nightmares 2 for me.

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?
I want it but at the same time, there is nothing I want to play on it right now.
My PS4 pro should be good for another year at least if not more, but if I do find a PS5 in stock with a trade-in option... Hmm...
Re: Cyber Shadow (PS5) - A Stylish, Challenging Action Platformer
@kyleforrester87 it's 7-8 hours according to IGN.
Re: Cyber Shadow (PS5) - A Stylish, Challenging Action Platformer
Definitely checking this out on Game Pass. Also a good way of testing out the new dpad on the new Xbox controller.
I always preferred the PS4 controller dpad, so please don't rush at me with torches and pitchforks just yet!!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 360
Yakuza Like a Dragon, made it to chapter 12.
Re: Persona Soundtracks Are Finally Being Added to Spotify Outside of Japan

Re: GTA Online: How to Start the Cayo Perico Heist
Looking forward to doing this heist solo! Just wondering about one thing... Will difficulty scale or will it be harder for solo players??
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 353

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 353
Yakuza Like a Dragon for me. Very good, but I'm at chapter 6 now and the battles are starting to pile up one after the other.
I think this game is better if you play 1-2 hour sessions a day, which means effectively beating one chapter per day.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 352
Yakuza Like a Dragon. The quality of the cutscenes this studio produces always amazes me!
Re: Talking Point: Was 2020 PlayStation's Best Ever Year?
So many great games this year!
The Last of Us Part II and Persona 5 Royal are definitely in my top 10 games of all time.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Guide: Tips, Tricks, and Help
@ShogunRok No I just have two available locations: Sciropescire (Power 130) and Jorvik (Power 190).
I am currently Power level 94..... Bloody elllll ;/
World events it is then! Thank you

Re: First Next-Gen Face-Off Is a Wash, But PS5 Performs Best
I think Black Ops Cold War is in a similar situation according to another youtube video. Only a few frames better than XBox Series X, but still...
Why say you're the best console in terms of performance, when your competitor is doing it even just slightly better?
Re: Hands On: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Plays It Safe, Mostly
The campaign was amazing! I played through it in about 4-5 hours maybe?
Missions were very different and kept things fresh, and I loved the 80s vibe and the soundtrack.
Have yet to dive into Zombies and Multiplayer...
Re: Round Up: Godfall PS5 Reviews Have Mixed Feelings on Looter Slasher Launch Title
I can see this coming to PS Plus in a few months, hopefully they'll polish it up by then. Too many great games out now anyway!
Re: PlayStation Store Sales Charts: FIFA 21 Scores Number One in Europe and North America
Still a shame that the better game, PES 2021, doesn't get half as much love as FIFA.
Re: Round Up: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Reviews Sing Its Praises
Great news!
I will probably try and beat Miles Morales first and get that out of the way before focusing on this 60 hour juggernaut.
I hope it has a catchy main music theme like Odyssey!!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 349
Spelunky 2... Hoping to make it past 1-4 after about an hour of gameplay
TOUGH AS NAILS.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Still Looks Stunning on PS4
Thank goodness! Can't wait to play this on PS4 and I'm very happy with the supposed length of the campaign.
Too many good games coming out this month and next, we are truly being spoilt for choice in these final months of this rollecoaster of a year.
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's PS5, PS4 Bonuses Are a Bit Embarrassing

Re: PS5 Fans Are Very Concerned About Ubisoft's Comments on PS4 Backwards Compatibility
To be honest, Syndicate is my 2nd favourite Creed game!! The 1st is definitely Odyssey, malakas.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 347
Remnant from the Ashes and a few rounds of Hades.
Both are difficult, but not too bad!!
Re: Guilty Gear Strive Confirms Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade Along with Cross-Play
The Guilty Gear games are the best looking fighting games on PS4. The art style and characters are all over the top. I'm looking forward to this one!
Re: PlayStation Store Halloween Sale Has Some Spooktastic PS4 Deals
Just got Mortal Shell. Hope it's good!
Re: Hands On: Genshin Impact Is a Very Impressive Free-to-Play Action RPG
Does it have a main story campaign to follow? Any idea about the length?
