Hot damn, that’s brutal. Even though the graphics rock. Nope, nothing for me. I’m too much of a sissy to play something like that for more than an hour.
@tabris95 The Switch version has some performance issues at the current state (version 1.0.0 and 1.0.1). I’ve linked a video in a post above. Don’t know if they’re going to patch it though.
I’ve also never read PlayStation fans to be port begging for Bayonetta 2. :-/ The only game I met some port begging Sony dudes was for Octopath Traveler. Personally, I can’t understand why. I own that game on Switch and found it to be extremely boring. Only the music was delicious.
@RawnDawn An additional playable character would be great too, like in FES. Maybe with her/his own palace to awake. I’d love to see Kawakami fighting and becoming a Persona wielding party member. Best waifu. <3
Yeah, well, it depends on the personal point of view, I think. I didn’t found the mods' comments to paint a bad picture of Pushsquare. On the other hand: On Nintendolife I didn’t find a mod to stop insults like „pathetic Sonypony“. I found this to be more concerning than a bit of sarcasm here, to be honest. But that’s just my opinion though.
@Toadie The fanboyism is worse on Nintendolife.com regarding the same topic. In comparison to the insults appearing there, the communication here is still very polite.
@manu0 Okay, I loved playing DQ Builders on Vita. More than I did on Switch, just because it felt way more comfy. I found the Switch version also to look extremely jaggy in docked mode.
@Toadie Yeah, I have to check. I didn't play Doom on release, on Switch, since it was a bit too pricey for me, for an older game. I'm playing with the latest patch installed right now. There are some framedrops noticeable for me. Playing on easy, reducing the amount of action happening on screen, makes the game much smoother though. But as @toffeecrit wrote: Maybe it's a subjective thing...
@Toadie Okay, thanks for the info. I also get serious cramps when playing the Switch for over an hour or so.
Regarding ports: That's cool, if you like them, but I had problems with Wolfenstein's II dynamic resolution for example. Or the framedrops during Doom. Or the abyssimal framerate of Nights of Azure 2, making the game nearly unplayable in Handheld mode (while the Vita version runs well, strangely). I could live with a stable 720p and some low looking textures, if a port on Switch has also a stable framerate and no dynamic resolution change.
I've only played Mass Effect 3 on Wii U and seriously found it to be the best version of all, because of the implementation of the map using the second screen.
@Toadie I don't like playing Wolfenstein II and Doom on my Switch, because I notice the dymanic resolution quite a lot. It's too distracting for me when it goes down to 400p and below in some situations, where there is a lot going on.
Other poor ports are: Nights of Azure II (like 10 FPS in Handheld mode) and Atelier Lydie and Suelle (looks like a PS2 game regarding the poor resolution).
@toffeecrit I fail to understand, but I accept it. I'm fine with it. There are also people who still like the Commodore 64 and even the Ouya. I don't. But it's okay. I didn't want to make it sound like, everyone has to like my favourite pizza.
@EVIL-C For me, it is an underpowered and overpriced piece of crap, looking at a lot of poorly executed ports. Nintendo is the Apple of the gaming industry - selling old hardware for too much money.
I don't like the Switch as a portable. It is clunky as hell and no match for the comfy Vita - even if some idiots claim, that the console "is dead". Mine is perfectly fine and alive, with a backlog of top games.
Regarding the exclusives: Nah, I liked Mario Odyssey quite a bit, but hated the empty wold of Zelda and its boring sidequests, as well as the overly complicated mechanisms of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Octopath. I don't want to talk about Tennis Aces or Smash though, since I've never been a fan of those. Too chaotic and without content (Aces, no real story mode in SBBU). I prefer classic beat em ups like Street Fighter.
So, yeah. I'm happy with my PS4 and Vita combination. Call me a Sony fanboy. I'm proud to be one.
@EVIL-C Sad? Why? I can't find fun in Nintendo's typical games anymore. I even find them worse than mainstream games like FIFA and others. Not everyone has fallen for the dumb Switch hype.
Slowly I'm starting to think: "Hey, Western PlayStation audience, keep playing your same FIFA and CoD sh*t, I'm open for some great niche titles." Who the eff cares if it will sell well here, it looks awesome and I'm going to buy it. That's all what matters.
I just hope that both of you are right then. To be completely honest, I don't care about the typical big selling blockbusters like CoD, FIFA, GTA... Those Japanese games are what still keeps me playing the PS4. Should the console turn into a second Xbox One, I'm gonna think about stopping to play videogames at all. No, I don't think about changing to the effin Switch.
How are you so sure about those games reaching sales records though? All I read in the print media or hear on YouTube are rants about Japanese games selling worse than expected on Sony's consoles and that the Switch would be sooo much better as a platform for games like P5, DQ XII, etc.; kinda pisses me off, but maybe there is some truth hidden here?
@ShogunRok @jdv95 Ah, I see. Thank you two. That's the most important thing, also for me: That DQ XI has sold well enough to happily expect number XII. (:
@Derpie1 Nah, I'm not selling it. My hopes for a good Bayonetta 3 are too high. But that's the only reason I'm keeping it. Oh, and playing Pokemon Let's Go with my younger cousin. Sadly, we are finding the most funny aspect of the game in it's not-so-good-and-accurate Pokeball usage. He always makes fun of me, when I miss the throws. :-/
Was DQ XI really that succesfull in the West? I'm not sure, but I think I've read something contrary on a German gaming website (play3.de). Would be happy if I'm wrong tho'. :>
@ChronosChris As I wrote, I own Nights of Azure 2, Gal Gun 2 and Atelier Lydie and Suelle. All three (fanservicy) games on Switch and PS4. On Switch, they have blurry textures, low resolutions (seem like 480p) what makes the character models look extremely jaggy and especially Nights of Azure 2 becomes unplayble in handheld mode, reaching 10 fps and even less. Not amazing looking games, that's right, but it seems that the Switch can't handle their engine or the developers did a piss-poor job, porting them. I don't think, things will change. Switch is selling like hot sh*t. It's easy to make cash grabs.

Okay. Earthbound never was my cup of tea. I’ll stick to Pushsquare's score then.

What a shame. I was very excited for this one. Why is Nintendolife giving it an 8 then? O_o

Eventually it’ll release for Switch instead of Vita, or is the exclusivity also Sony-bound?

The Japanese really love Nintendo, hm? When the new mainline Pokémon releases, sales will explode again, I guess.

Smash Bros has been kicked. Good. I was starting to doubt the English taste as well. I'd rather play the 50. FIFA than a Smash title.

Gawd dayium! Looks great. But I also honestly doubt that such games are going to sell well on the more and more 'americanized' PS4. :-/
