@Shepherd_Tallon I happily sign what you wrote. If Sony actually censors sexualized depictions of minors, I think it's more than okay. The main thing is, for me personally, that we can keep our sexy 'adult' girls like Ivy, Taki and friends.
As a fan of Japanese fanservicy games I'm a bit mad at Sony, at the moment, because of their new censorship policy. On the one hand, I don't want to support them, acting stubborn like a little child, trying to buy nothing Sony-related. On the other hand... Spyro looks sooo damn good. ._.
Hopefully Atlus will consider a Switch-version then. Nintendo seems more... mature nowadays when it comes to Japanese censoring. Sounds strange to write that, when Big N was the Pioneer of Censorship for a long time.
@Rawzuka I feel the same. I even play mainly Japanese niche titles like Nights of Azure, Gal Gun, Senran Kagura, etc.. If Sony goes on like that, I'll take a closer look at my Switch. ^^
@Derpie1 Oops, Smartphone error. ^^ It's Chronicles, not Odyssey, obviously. I absolutely loved the prequel on Wii (the original XC; I see Chronicles X more as a spin-off) a lot though. One of my favourite JRPG of all time. Had high expectations for the sequel. Perhaps the expectations were too high. :/
@Grim-Tuesday That explains a lot, thanks, I didn't know his background. So, like any other fanboy, he is clearly not a trustworthy source.
@get2sammyb Thank you for your opinion on the topic. I found it interesting, because PE made me very unsure. As you wrote at the beginning: YouTube comments should be treated with caution.
@Derpie1 I followed the hype without asking myself, if I really needed the console - besides my PS Vita, which I still enjoy and prefer to use as a handheld device. Zelda: BotW, Octopath Traveller, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Odyssey 2 have disappointed me, despite the hype and many positive ratings. Also, the amount of ports isn't for me, I've played all the games on Wii U. That's just my own opinion though. I do not condemn anyone who likes the console - as already mentioned elsewhere. Everyone should play, what they like to play. The Switch just isn't for me.
He draws the comparison with Octopath Traveler (which I did not like at all btw). The game has outperformed DQ XI and should send a clear signal to Japanese developers like Square Enix, that the Switch is more profitable for Japanese developments, he says.
For me personally, that would be a shame - I'm a big fan of Japanese games, but I do not like my Switch very much. :/
A lot of conten-creators on YouTube like Playeressence say, that the game sold poorly on the PS4. So, they are telling lies? That's good to know. I was worried too though. Those YouTubers often advise to support the game on the Switch when it is released, because it is supposed to sell better on it and make a Dragon Quest XII more likely to happen on Nintendo's console. I want DQ XII on PlayStation 4 or 5. I always prefer graphics over portability.
Certainly, the Switch hype in Nippon also has something to do with the hectic, hard-working everyday life of the Japanese. I guess, time does not allow them to sit for hours in front of a stationary console. Fortunately, I'm not in a similar situation, otherwise I would probably appreciate a technically strong, portable console more than the stationary PS4. So, at the end of the day, we all play what suits our taste and lifestyle best.
@toffeecrit @Slasher Okay. I played Zelda, Mario and Xenoblade; and found the games to be pretty meh. Then, my Switch became a dust magnet. Octopath didn't convince me to buy the full game - I played both demos. I preferred Persona 5 over Xenobalde, Horizon over Zelda and Dragon Quest XI over Octopath. Even as a portable console, I found the Vita to be more comfortable. Perhaps Bayonetta 3 can make my Switch break out of its dust mantle again. ^^
@Tasuki OK. I've never been successful in talking to Nintendo fanboys on a quiet, factual level. They only seem to understand when you become aggressive and insulting. But I'd gladly become convinced of the opposite.
@MsJubilee The characters in the EU version of Senran Kagura Reflexions for the Switch (Asuka, Murasaki, Ryona, and Yomi ) are 18 or older. That's written in their biographies. In Senran Kagura Burst on the other hand, minors like Mirai (16 or younger) are available in dressing rooms and touchable.
For me, there exists an obvious line: I don't want to see the possibility to touch minors in games.
@MsJubilee The fanboys are saying, that Reflexions on Switch wasn't censored. Reflexions is a touching simulator. But the fanboys forget, that there are no underaged or children character in this game. Allowing the intimacy mode in Burst would allow to have sexual tendencies with childish characters like Mirai. If Nintendo fanboys are implying to allow that, then yes - I'd call them paedophiles.
Damn! So many Nintendo fanboys on YouTube badmouthing Sony for leaving out this mode; saying, that Nintendo allowed a game completely around intimacy without censorship (Senran Kagura Reflexion). Didn't know that Nintendo's community had so many paedophiles.
@Flaming_Kaiser I forgot about that and that they also removed a hot springs scene from Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Guess you're right then. There are some characters in the Senran Kagura series that look like little girls. Regarding this I can understand why Sony wanted the touching to be removed.
Okay. So Sony is playing Nintendo of the 90s and Nintendo is becoming more adult? Senran Kagura Reflexions is a bad game but it has been released without censorship in the eShop. I'll be waiting for the Switch version of Burst then, since the PC game is uncensored as well.
@JoeBlogs Ah, okay. I agree. I also didn't want to badmouth the X. Like you say, it's very cheap compared to a PC with similar specs. There also are surely people who can spot differences between a Pro and an X, but I can not, unfortunately. :/ Even though I had a Pro I got an X too, simply because of Ori, Cuphead and ReCore. But I still play the Pro a lot more, due to the lack of exclusives on Microsoft's machine.
@JoeBlogs Sorry to disagree, but I own both - Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. The differences in games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and other "Xbox One X enhanced" games are very subtle, if you don't sit with a Digital Foundry magnifying glass in front of your TV. I'd still recommend the PS4 Pro to have the best variety of games available with Xbox One X level of graphics.
I don't care about online and cross play. And yeah - I also thought, that people liked to make a fuzz about something. Sony and the PS4 have little to complain about, so that jealous people will always find the needle in a mountain of hay, like the Germans say, and make a big problem out of it. The most whining came from Xbox and Nintendo fanboys.
Funny thing is: When Microsoft said no to Sony during the PS3 and Xbox 360 times, nobody was complaining. Xbox and Nintendo fanboys are jealous as **** - that's more of a problem than missing cross play.
@PS_Nation Nah, I dont like the Switch as much as I love my PS4 and Vita. To be honest, I hate that thing and all the hype around it. But people tend to buy niche titles on Switch like crazy, while PlayStation is becoming more and more a CoD, Fifa and Battlefield machine. Sadly. To give developers a proper sign, that there is enough interest for their games, to keep on creating them, they need to sell well, dont they? That's because a Switch version of such titles would never be wrong. I'd buy it on Vita and PS4 anyway. I'm more of a Sony fan.

Let's hope, the characters in Catherine look mature enough for Sony then. :/

I can imagine the proud heads at Sony: "Our game got an E, not Nintendo's, hehehe."
Re: Catherine: Full Body's In-Game 'Nero Glasses' Let You See Through Characters' Clothes
I'm hearing Sony's new censorship policy alarm bells ringing.

"Nudity" on a PlayStation system? How come?

At Sony headquarters: "We must censor this. Too much female action."

@Gamer83 Yeah, my thoughts exactly!

I can already see Sony's brand new censorship-hammer pointing at Catherine.

I still don't understand, why Japanese are so hyped about the Switch. Mine is collecting dust. But nice to see, that a PS4 game is on top.

How the Nintendo fanboys say, once a port comes out or an indie title: "Rest in peace my wallet." Don't take it seriously, just kidding.
I'm gonna take Soulcalibur, Red Dead, Mega Man 11, Senran Kagura, Castlevania, The Heist and... Oh, it's actually true: Rest in peace my wallet. :/
