@themightyant couldn't agree more, and I look forward to honest, balanced reviews from the likes of SkillUp later in the week/next week. Maybe the game WILL be great in six months time - I don't see why that should be a pass for these sites to give it great reviews in its current state TODAY. sigh
@Medic_Alert exactly my view also. No coincidence that the PC reviews are the only ones out there. IMO that's a pretty ***** thing for CDPR to do as well - some innocents will take the reviews of that as 'oh it'll be the same on console' and go and pre-order before the truth comes out later in the week. And it's not as if the PC reviews are glowing anyway...a lot of them brush off the current state of the game as 'oh well few bugs but who cares, they'll sort it' when it appears to be borderline game breaking.
Sounds like they've been given a higher rating than the game deserves. Very carefully curated reviews on display here.
My random thoughts? Looks smooth enough and OK, but not blown away at all. The first person movement feels very floaty, and worst of all the population density - seems to be no peds at all visible when driving, and even in day there's only a few. They've put more crowd noise on to make it sound busy, but that just conflicts when there's only a few randoms walking about.
I play most of them, although less over the past few years. This is not to do with the quality of them so much as the ever growing library of games I now own, which is turn is largely driven by ps+ and deep discounts on PSN sales!
It's why I'd never go for something like gamepass....the choice paralysis would be crazy, and that combined with the rotation of non MS stuff would make it all seem too much like work to me.
Plus at least gives me online and cloud saving on top of the games anyway. The argument that those features 'should' be free is moot because they're not ever likely to be and you either pay up or don't have online.
I bought a load of PSN credit codes at 20% off a while back, so this works out at £40 for me digital now. But digital is always more expensive, apparently. OK.
Admittedly, a lot of these games are on decent sales at various intervals prior to going on plus, but regardless of all that, for a couple of pounds a month it's been superb value for me.
Some people will never be happy whatever Sony gives away, but that's on them.
@thefourfoldroot I'd hate to feel I have to rush through a game just to get a better price from that scum place. Take too long, few more quid lost. Nah. Prefer to take my time and not be subject to the pricing they set.
Imagine buying Cyberpunk on disc and tearing through it asap just to get a bit more cash back. Weird.
But regardless of that, I'd never want to mess about swapping discs again anyway. Even more so now, with the faster resuming, activity cards etc on PS5.
I get PSN credit with at least 20% off, usually even more, so combined with prudent purchases and the amazing PSN sales it's great value for me.
People wanting 'physical forever' are just pissing in the wind anyway, we know where this story is finishing, and it ain't with plastic discs.
Got no interest in driving around an empty city at 10mph. Looking as if waiting for the proper next-gen patch is wise. Especially as gives them time to issue a load of patches by then too.
@AJDarkstar yes it's the way I've charged my controllers for years, it's far more convenient and I don't really get why so many people are obsessed with doing it from the console or, even worse, paying up for the charge station thing. Neither of those methods will charge the controllers any differently than just using a regular usb charger.
I know this is bad for all concerned and all, but a full refund AND £150 on top of that, processed without quibbles and in a fast manner, isn't something that any consumer should be complaining about. If there is no more stock to hand out, what can they do?
Perhaps a step back and a sense of perspective would be more appropriate.
@AJDarkstar on Reddit there is even talk of a class action lawsuit against MS for describing it as 'the most powerful console in the world' pre-launch!
This sounds ludicrous, but it's worth noting that MS now describes it simply as 'the most powerful xbox' haha
@God_of_Nowt is the 'it's the tools' argument valid, or a deflection? Put another way, in say a years time when the APIs and tools etc are more mature, will the Series X outperform PS5 then or is it just the case that in the real world, PS5 is still likely to 'win' these kind of face-offs?
@ApostateMage Control Ultimate Edition is a bit of a bargain at £16, and even cheaper taking discounted PSN credit into the picture. Never played it but always had my eye on it and this will go into my library ready for when the PS5 upgrade comes early next year

Re: Poll: Are You Buying Cyberpunk 2077?
Day one players are getting a bug fest. What's the point? Buy in a few months, you'll get a far superior version.
Re: Site News: Where's Our Cyberpunk 2077 Review?
Fortunately CRPR won't be able to hide the base console versions for much longer!
Tick tock, *****.

Re: Round Up: Cyberpunk 2077 Reviews Mark Another Epic RPG
@nessisonett I still automatically think Game of Thrones when I see that GoT acronym.....have to correct my brain ever single damn time lol
Re: Empire of Sin (PS4) - Gangster Strategy Game Is a Broken Mess
Empire of Bugs.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Seemingly No Longer Scheduled for First Half of 2021
Be lucky to get this before H2 2022 imo
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Map Size Estimate Suggests It's Twice as Big as GTA 5
If anyone wants to view a little driving and walking free roam on PS5, here are a couple of streams I found at 720p (not sure how long they'll last)
https://streamable.com/22uv58 (driving at night)
https://streamable.com/absqfg (walking in day)

Dunno about this game in this state.
Re: Naughty Dog Promotes Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us Creator Now Co-President
Of course they've promoted him; ***** always floats to the top.
Re: No, Cyberpunk 2077 Does Not Have a 56GB Day One Patch on PS4, PS5
Those who have got it early are saying on Reddit and resetera that the first person view is weird and floaty, and just doesn't feel right.
That would be a big no from me if it's really the case.

Re: PS Now December 2020 Update Adds Horizon Zero Dawn, Darksiders 3, Wreckfest, More
HZD on ps+ in a few months then.
Re: BBC Consumer Show Investigating Missing PS5 Deliveries
I wish they hadn't rolled 'Watchdog' into a segment of the awful One Show.
Re: PS Store End of Year Deals Sale Discounts Lots of PS4 Games
@munkholt death stranding at £16 (even less with discounted PSN credit!) is a real bargain.
Re: Mini Review: Maneater (PS5) – Some New Shiny Bits and Bobs Make for a Fun Time
Sounds like a PS+ game sometime next year, so I'll wait for that.

Re: PS Store Black Friday Sale Has Awesome PS5, PS4 Deals
@Matroska Googled and found youtube vids of people playing through it on PS5, so dunno why you think that?
Re: Even the PS5 DualSense Charging Station Has Been Hit by Scalpers
@wiiware @Matroska people just don't seem to understand this fact.
They act like they absolutely have to charge from either the console or these overpriced (even at RRP) 'charging stations'
