Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2024?

Profchaos

Personally I'm very excited as I'm actually just about to finished a playthrough of like a dragon Yakuza so I'm interested to play another game in the series even if it's a completely different game I can't believe how much I enjoyed Yakuza after years of overlooking it.

Dying light 2 might be a fun way to spend a evening although I'm zombie fatigued tbh and the original never bit me.

Also synapse is an amazing VR game whoever has a headset but has not picked this up yet is in for a real treat.

Legacy of kain games will be great to experience before the remaster

I'm obviously a little disappointed my region won't get the resistance games given that I'm in Australia where cloud streaming is not an option despite having gigabit connections Sony never bothered to build the infrastructure here. At least I still have my PS3 and a copy of resistance is $2 at CeX so I'll live.

Re: Until Dawn PS5 Is Priced at $60 / £60

I played it I loved it but I really struggle to return to these games when I know what will happen I know you can manipulate it to an extent but It is t enough for me so I wouldn't pay for it again despite loving the original

Re: PS5 Hardware Architect Says It May Take Less Time to Build a Console Than a Game Now

Profchaos

If the state of the industry today is anything to go by I personally won't be buying a console day 1 again despite being and early adopter for multiple consoles.

I still struggle to see the value of the ps5 overall outside of a few showcases it's felt lackluster all up.

Hopefully we will get some gen 9 feeling games in the consoles back half Because everything right now feels mostly PS4 level with a better frame rate.

If you're game can be doenported to such are you really maximising the Ps5 as it stands

Re: Reaction: PS5 Livestreams Are No Longer Speaking to the Fans Who Built the Brand

Profchaos

Absolutely it no longer speaks to me but maybe it's not meant to.

Its been 30 odd years since I abandoned my Sega mega drive, 3sx and mega cd for a ps1 and since there I've been there for everything Sony has done including the PSP, vita, VR 1 and 2.

But this is the first generation in 30 years that I feel abandoning PlayStation my investment in psVR2 isn't being respected by Sony and the games we see coming are all the same online hero looter shooter cash cows that I don't want.

This is the first generation since the NES that I've found myself playing more Nintendo via the switch than PlayStation or on my ps5.

Every other gen I might dabble in a side console if it interests me like a Wii or switch but 90 percent of my playtime was in Sony's sandbox.

I just feel aged out of the console with most of the games targeting teens but not in a edgy way more in a hey everyone's special we should hold hands and play co op games together now buy these fluro gun skins please kind of way.

I feel like Sony needs to remember the old-school fans who are still there and I know many may not be there anymore but I feel the majority are I know a lot of gamers who played PS 30 years ago still buy their systems so we are not gone yet but this keeps up we might be as the common sentiment is one of meh and this isn't that exciting afterall

Re: Sony Has Stopped Updating PS Plus' Subscriber Numbers

Profchaos

I'm debating dropping it after w 40 percent hike in my region I can't justify it anymore and I was too tired I've still got it stacked for 2 years but I see myself dropping it or exclusively buying 12 months subs when they are 30 percent off like during black friday sales

Re: PS5's Install Base Closes on 50 Million As Sony Gets Increasingly Aggressive

Profchaos

Last gen Xbox stumbled outbid the gate and lost big time the switch was a neat little side piece of a console but I don't know anyone who isn't a child playing it as a main system

PlayStation capitalised on a weak industry with the PS4 and a lot of that hype has continued.

I hope we see the gaas push due and they give me a better answer as to wgi I brought my psvr2 but there's no doubt that PS will take this generation out.

However there's more competition with Microsoft and their infinite pockets buying Bethesda personally sucked as a long time fan of id software and fallout if they keep buying the industry I can see Xbox coming back.
Probably the first time since the 360 that Sony may have to actively work harder then the competitor which is where we've always seen the best of Sony.

Re: PS5's Install Base Closes on 50 Million As Sony Gets Increasingly Aggressive

@Fishnpeas
Completely agree long time PS player who has also owned every system including handheld and VR this generation has felt uninspired and boring.

Innovation and creativity has been replaced by copy and paste trend chasing and the push to online gaas titles has been extremely disheartening for me personally. The amount of monetisation I see nowadays makes me sick some of my all time favourite franchises have been ruined as a result like GTA.

Also given games can take five years plus to produce it feels like we have longer dry spells and I'm buying games that I historically wouldn't just because it's something to play also games are taking less risks overall making a lot of stuff feel dull.

I've actually found myself spending far more time playing retro games from the nes, SNES and PS2 era when to me gaming was more fun and exciting.

I feel like I've aged out of mainstream gaming given my only real highlight of the last year was probably re8 in VR and Mario wonder I did buy Spiderman 2 and completed it but i enjoyed it but it's very much repetitive to me.

It's great Sony found success with the ps5 but I long for the excitement that PlayStation used to give me.

Re: Soapbox: PS5's Next-Gen PSVR Headset Is Going to Drop Jaws in 2022

Profchaos

I'm extremely excited.

I loved my psvr but it's weak controls mainly the use of the move controller was always a sore spot. Controls never felt fluid while playing with move controller I've tried games like Skyrim, walking dead saints and sinners and fracked each time I thumb my way through some opening segments get frustrated at the controls and either switch to the duelshock or put the game to the side.

it feels unnatural to play a game that isn't a driving game with a duelshock. That improved with the underutilized aim controller which still had terrible tracking and drift however the lack of adoption meant I didn't really get much use our of it besides a few really Great games and one not so very good release by sucker punch.

Basically all I want are good controllers I'd be over the moon if Sony just dropped a psvr move controller with a left analogue stick to let me walk I hate holding the left controller at a angle I want to steer to and pressing move to go forward.

My wishlist for psvr2 is simple get the controls right and I'm all in optionally I'd like backwards compatibility and a chance to play the games I've brought over the years with real controls but they may not happen without developer intervention but bigger publishers may go back to offer it Bethesda in Skyrim as a example

@MKD88 I struggled hard with that godfather trophy.
Grab a sparrow with a machine gun you'll have one if you did the hidden package fly over to big empty area where you have that taxi fight and grab some rubber bands leave your chopper firing at a truck for a few hours come back and you'll have that last trophy.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Price Could Be High as Sony Struggles with Expensive Parts

Profchaos

Given the components are being manufactured in China by all accounts and the recent outbreak of the caronavirus I can see the price being pushed up due to supply shortages.

Sony will sell the console at a loss they do this every generation bar the ps4 as the component costs were fairly reasonable from the jump given the mobile CPU I assume.

I think we will see a price around $650 to $700 AUD this time compared to the $550 we got when the ps4 launched.

If the rumours are true about complete backwards compatibility though I'm sure we are going to see mass amounts of ps4 and pro units flood the second hand market meaning anyone thinking of trading in and up may want to consider selling over the next few months to maximize return but be without a console for a while.
