Re: Review: Street Fighter V (PS4)

@JaxonH: After you have completed that 1-2 hour story mode you will probably be bored with it again because there are still no signs of a standard single player arcade mode.

But what a great guy Ono is! From IGN: Ono says in the video this "might take you one to two hours or even longer to play through... we can [sic] have sold this separately." Well how very nice of them to include a 1-2 hour story mode for free.

You have an XB1 too right, do you play K.I.? It has a lot more single player modes including a pretty good training mode.

Re: Review: Street Fighter V (PS4)

Ryno

@Gamer83: I take back when I compared this to the Splatoon model. Street Fighter V model is way worse! This should be a f2p game with this model.

"Premium Costumes" can only be bought with real money, and they are $4 each. "Story Mode Costumes" for 40,000 fight money. New characters for $6.00 each or 100,000 fight money. I don't think $6.00 is necessarily a bad price for an additional DLC character in a fighting game but when you only get 16 for a barebones fighting game package at $60.00. Yikes!

Re: Review: Street Fighter V (PS4)

Ryno

As an XB1 and Wii U owner, this was my most coveted "PS4 console exclusive." Hearing that there is no "arcade mode", a staple of fighting games for years especially the Street Fighter series, I am more OK with missing out on this one.

I'm not a fan of the full price game ($60.00) so bare bones like this and Splatoon with a planned roll out of free DLC rolled out over months to complete the package.

Re: PS4 Exclusive NieR Automata Looks Freakin' Rad

Ryno

@FullbringIchigo "ok XBOX you can keep Scalebound while we have this because this looks a thousand times batter."

lol, OK..., I rather play Hideki Kamiya's "dream game" Scalebound then another one of these Platinum Games style games.

Re: This Rousing Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Trailer Will Give You Goosebumps

Ryno

@get2sammyb: I liked the games and had fun with them but to me they're just more 3rd person shooters with fairly weak puzzles and hand holding wall climbing and jumps. So my issue is the amount of praise these games get like it's one of the greatest series ever. I would most likely get this game if I had a PS4 because I do enjoy 3rd person shooters, it's just that 4 games of Drake was enough of him as a character for me.

Re: Microsoft: Sony's Buying Lots of Third-Party Exclusives for PS4

Ryno

@Stuffgamer1: I would assume Microsoft's first party focus on Killer Instinct may play a part to on the Street Fighter V console exclusive issue. Why wouldn't it? Of all the IP's Sony has, does it have a fighter? It makes sense for them to create a "business partnership" for the most popular fighter out there especially when Microsoft wouldn't do much with it. Which is a bummer because I would like to play SFV and K.I. on my XB1. Well, if Microsoft does figure how to stream games from PC to XB1 then maybe I will.

Re: Microsoft: Sony's Buying Lots of Third-Party Exclusives for PS4

Ryno

@get2sammyb: I dunno man, it just seems like the way this was presented was to rile up the Sony faithful. The question from the the interviewer was "Microsoft appears to be doubling-down on its first-party titles while Sony is securing a lot of third-party deals. How difficult is it to be successful, in terms of market share, when Sony is gobbling up so many third-party deals now?" It's not just Microsoft who believes this as the interviewer alluded but whatever, maybe that is not all that important on a Sony site.

Re: Microsoft: Sony's Buying Lots of Third-Party Exclusives for PS4

Ryno

Dang @get2sammyb, I feel like I get almost as much Xbox news at Push Square as I do at Pure Xbox (and it isn't because Pure Xbox is lacking updates). It's like you want an Xbox One or something. j/k I know you love your Playstation I did miss the term "Redmond firm" though, I always like to see my hometown area mentioned.

Re: Expect to See More of Uncharted 4's Jeep, Says Naughty Dog

Ryno

"Because of the PS4, we do not have the constraints with memory that we had in the past," creative director Neil Druckmann admitted. "Right now, [this] feels like the biggest Uncharted we've ever made."

Well, I should hope so!

Getting around big open worlds in Jeep's, Batmobile's, horses, etc. will be this generation's legacy.

Re: Lighter, Eco-Friendly PS4 Hardware Launches This Month

Ryno

@rjejr: Help! Talk me out of this. I'm close to purchasing a 1TB Xbox One w/ Halo: The Master Chief Collection + $50 Microsoftstore.com code + Free Game (Probably The Witcher III) for $399.00 along with preordering Rare Replay at $30.00 with a $10 Microsoftstore.com code for a total of $60 Microsoftstore.com code/another free game (Phantom Pain most likely)

Re: Lighter, Eco-Friendly PS4 Hardware Launches This Month

@rjejr: Would you be my editor? I meant to say "It's NOT Me..." I'm sure you knew what I was getting at though. Nintendo consoles are truly a secondary console. And your equivalents for Nintendo to Sony games are pretty spot on. My boys are only 2 and 3 months so I have quite a while before they become old enough to know the difference between PlayStation/Xbox and Nintendo but like you pointed out you need to make sure that they don't think their father was a "fool." Boy's want to respect their father.
I bought a Wii U at launch and I have enjoyed it but I am not buying a Nintendo console at launch probably ever again. It will be interesting to see what their next attempt at the Video Game market will be. And that's the thing though, with Sony and Microsoft you know you are getting more power and an upgraded controller. With Nintendo it seems like they are just throwing darts at a dart board and see what sticks.

@rjejr: I have the 80 GB MSG4 B/C PS3 (upgraded to 320) so they probably not like to trade it in for me. But I am going to keep my PS3. got way to many retro games I can play on from the Sega collection to the PS2 Taito & Capcom collections.

Nice write up on Nintendo too. They arrogance than the often times compete disregard for everything they said previously never ceases to amaze. I don't know how Iwata and Reggie still have their job's. Well actually I do, they need good P.R. guys that don't care about their own image. Man, I'm salty. The past couple of months have put me over the the top. I'm tempted to submit a guest column to NinLife titled something like "It's not me, it's you. Why I'm moving on"

Re: Lighter, Eco-Friendly PS4 Hardware Launches This Month

Ryno

@rjejr: Haha... Yeah, I better buy it now before something "happens" and needs the money.
So I went browsing a local store (similar to a regional Target) and was disappointed to see that Xbox One had a "get a free game with console purchase" but the PS4 did not. I will just hold out until I get something in addition to Batman. Xbone is getting really aggressive with their pricing strategies and it is just flat out embarrassing that the Wii U w/ 3D World is still $299.00.

Re: Lighter, Eco-Friendly PS4 Hardware Launches This Month

Ryno

@rjejr: I got an unopened 3 pack of Splatoon amiibo's if you are interested to go along with that Silver Mario of yours.

The MGSV bundles are PAL only as of now. My guess is it doesn't drop down to #49.99 for until closer to Christmas. The upcoming revised model seems a little tempting though. I kinda want to wait but I kinda just want to get one now, you know, and get the bitter Nintendo taste out of my mouth.

Your problem with your Wii U purchase is that you bought it for Pikmin 3. I, personally, don't see the appeal in Pikmin. I couldn't wait to complete it!

Re: Lighter, Eco-Friendly PS4 Hardware Launches This Month

Ryno

@rjejr: So you know how I was telling you I might get Splatoon for either my Birthday or Father's Day gift? Well, instead my wife pretty much tells me to go buy a PS4 instead! I'm going to probably get the Arkham Bundle and look for a store that will give you a $50.00 gift card with the purchase of a new console.

Also, what do you mean the Batman bundle cost more? It's still $399.99 and includes a disc copy. Unless you are talking about the Limited Edition bundle?
