@SwitchVogel Platinumed it on my Pro. I'll probably NG+ it on the PS5. It runs great on the Pro. No noticeable pop ins or frame drops. Loading is also already quick on the PS4 (didn't Sucker Punch say that they had to increase the times of the loading screens so that people could read the tips?).
I suppose the 60fps would make a difference. Just excited to be able to jump back in regardless.
@GREGORIAN I resent that. I never expressed hate or jealously, just bemusement that he could have achieved this.
Your comment has a fair point though.
But I don't think it's unreasonable to forgive an adult (me) who, when starting careers and work, grew up in a world where handing out CVs and filling out applications didn't include ones for playing/streaming games on the internet for donations and sponsorship.
Your point is valid, and if that's true in regards to Hakoom, then fair enough. More power to him.
Sometimes I just forget that's a whole thing now.
@thefourfoldroot @theheadofabroom Ahhhhhhhh sorry. My brain got a little muddled. I was thinking about transferring your Yakuza PS4 save to work on the upgraded PS5 version, which I guess is a little different to just being able to use your PS4 saves on a PS4 game on your PS5. Sorry.
I was worried at first as I've already wiped and boxed up my Pro ready to sell. But if you can download saves from the Plus cloud then that's all good. Rather not lose my Witcher 3 and Tsushima saves!
@naruball I'm not one to scoff at how someone chooses to live their life (now to a lesser extent, after finding out that there are multiple people on his account). You do you and all that jazz, but I play games, have a job, have a wife who I need to pay attention to (lol), exercise, and have to take care of everyday chores. I don't even have an active social life. Plus I need to remember to sleep well. If I were to neglect one of those things, life would be a lot less healthier. I have no time for anything else. I find this particular lifestyle choice odd and hard to fathom, but he's achieved something, so whatever. Good on him. It's just... priorities...
@ShaiHulud Ah, I see. Yes, that true.
Apparently xbox having a dig at Sony for needing it. But when the XSX is on its side... it looks like it's fallen over, so I don't think either company can talk lol.
@ShaiHulud It's not cumbersome at all. I'd rather have a removable stand so if I ever change set up and buy new cabinets or whatever, I'll be able to change how I have the PS5 if needed.
@rjejr Doesn't really matter about the orientation of discs when spinning, unlike vinyls. A disc would just have a laser that reads the back of it. As long as the console or player is designed to be able to play discs sideways (i.e disc stays secure and doesn't move about when the player knocked) then it's fine. Now I know how big the console is, which is BIG I know I can't have it horizontal in my current set up. Vertical is fine.
@JapaneseSonic I can't guarantee that it won't It's a pretty good representation of London as far as games go. Except for the tiny post boxes! Check out the gameplay trailer. I couldn't stop laughing lol. They're about chest height. I don't know why no one else has brought it up.
I've had my eye on this, being a Londoner and all (Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner). But I must admit I'm a bit fatigued with the whole "play as anyone" approach. It's the focus of all their trailers. All right Ubi, I get it.
@FuriousMachine No, it wasn't this one. This is my favourite NFS. What you describe is indeed Hot Pursuit, but I genuinely don't remember any rubber banding.
Wasn't interested in the first place.
Not to mention I've just switched to Plusnet and they're rubbish. Connection drops multiple times a day and if there's heavy wind or rain? Forget it lol.
@zimbogamer I think a certain level of whining (not to the relentless extremes we've all seen) is justified when you're parting ways with £500 in a year when people have had pay cuts, job losses, deaths etc. And if you say that if it's not sensible to pay that much then don't... if the PS5 is the only thing that can make me happy this year then you better believe I'm getting it.
I haven't been whining though lol, just waiting patiently!
@Medic_Alert of course. I think everyone is feeling it. I'm still excited for the console and I can't wait for November 19th but Sony have handled the run up to this launch abysmally. I'm sure it's turned a lot of people off. I really don't know what's happening over there. I'm sure the sales will still come flooding in and later down the line the games will become generation defining. But right now it's a rough road lol.
@Medic_Alert I know you probably don't understand Japanese, but they kind of did that with the reveals today. Hopefully someone can translate it all as I cant be bothered. I did a little in the comments of another article. Better yet give it to some English speaking.... YouTubers "shudder". (Obviously we still don't know what the two centre buttons do though).
@Arugula I never really had any problems with the fan on my Pro... until TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 1+2! My God. It reached the point where it was so loud I was genuinely worried it was about to explode.
@get2sammyb Seeing the close ups now after the Japanese hands-on is the first time I've fallen in love with it. I really do think it looks cool. I was lukewarm the entire time up until now.
@thefourfoldroot Yes. Same here. I know the calibre of games that they produce so I'm confident about that. But imagine having the upper hand (at least in terms of the PS4 generation) and botching the marketing and communication up this badly for the next console? I don't understand it at all.
The other features are not as important no, but they will be important to someone. I, for instance, will actually be using my PS5 as a media player and streaming. And considering that one of the launch accessories is a remote with a dedicated Netflix button, you'd think they would at least show a little snippet of how that would work/look in the UI.
@thefourfoldroot also, I'm not sure how to describe but the... resistance (?) can also change within the same press/action. So it can feel different from when you first start pressing to when you've fully pressed down.
I agree with you. I'm still excited for my PS5. But at this point I've kind of lost hope when checking the internet. I don't believe that Sony are "scared" or are hiding something like I've seen other people say. I just think they've approached this whole thing completely wrong. I'd be interested to see how many people they've lost who were on the fence.
@thefourfoldroot this kind of video/editing/marketing does work for a Japanese audience. Perhaps not for hardcore gamers, no, but in general this is what is liked in the region. As most people have said, hopefully it gets into western hands soon. But YouTubers are YouTubers, most western YouTubers are awful at games too!
@thefourfoldroot also, now rumble is sometimes dictated by your button presses, not just what's happening on screen.
(Although I feel like that was already a thing, with FPS games and stuff, but I suppose maybe now it feels more precise and designed. Not just a generic rumble).
@thefourfoldroot yes, that the rumble felt really different when switching to different elements. Like water for instance the rumble in the pad would be moving around. I guess to emulate waves?
@thefourfoldroot They don't say anything Geoff Keighley hasn't already lol.
They were all surprised when the triggers became harder to press, and said it felt really cool etc.
@naruball I understand where you're coming from, but the examples you give for being a ****, I believe, are exactly that - a person just a **** and not a more deeper seated issue. Before I met my wife, I only had one non serious girlfriend, I used to be chubby but then I joined a gym, my mother left when I was young and I've never known my father, etc, but I've always tried to be a good person. (True examples but I won't give any more as this is a random site on the internet, not a support group lol). None of that equates to a mental illness.
I used to work in luxury retail. Trust me, there are some horrible/happy people out there lol.
@Old-Red Now I understand what you mean. It's a shame there's no real term for it. I think to say "mental illness" further stigmatises disorders people have.
It's more serious than being socially inept... It's more like... being an ****hole but on a clinical level... like kleptomania but for being a ****.
EDIT: I suppose mentally ill really is the best term to describe it, for now. As you say, there's something not quite right going on in their heads.
@Arnna I agree that it's not a blanket rule and there will be exceptions no matter the situation. It's undeniably a minority in that "crowd" with genuine disorders, and that in turn must be dealt with separately. The majority.... tits. I also echo your sentiment entirely. Coming out the other side of a debate with them does make you feel worse. However I've found that once that's happened to you it's much easier to avoid them. I don't spend nearly as much time on the internet (except for work) than I used to. I'm much healthier mentally because of that. I just feel for devs who seemingly need to have an online presence and see this crap daily.

@God_of_Nowt I don't know if they printed it just to prove a point lol. It's the script.
Re: Random: This Is What Cyberpunk 2077's Japanese Script Looks Like
Jesus... somehow I think £70 is okay to pay for a game (I know Cyberpunk is still £50).

Re: Cross-Save Between PS4 and PS5 Games Is Up to Developers
@Agricultural Backwards compat saves and PS4 to PS5 upgrade saves are different though. All your saves for your PS4 games will still work on the PS5.
Re: Sackboy Gets a Significant Glow Up in A Big Adventure on PS5
@JapaneseSonic Haha. Fair play! I hope you do. I don't think I've ever regretted sticking it on randomly.
Re: Sackboy Gets a Significant Glow Up in A Big Adventure on PS5
It's a shame we don't get the Physical Edition with real life Sackboy, in the UK. I'd buy that for a dollar.

Why won't some saves work then? Thinking of Yakuza here.
