Re: Feature: All the E3 2016 Press Conferences Rated and Reviewed

@Sanquine Nintendo Life, PushSquare and PureXbox are connected and Tom mentioned Sony and Microsoft's conferences. Like @Tasuki said, PureXbox is the most peaceful place of the three, you don't read any Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft trolls there and all the comments are meaningful, but it also has less posts than PushSquare and of course than Nintendo Life which can be crazy (the Nintendo conference chat was hot all the time, almost impossible to follow even though the conference was the slowest and most boring of them all). For me it's great to have three websites connected as I became a multigamer recently.

Re: Feature: All the E3 2016 Press Conferences Rated and Reviewed

VanillaLake

As a multigamer, for me the best was Microsoft's (best lineup and only a few weird moments like Minecraft) and second Sony's (good pace, many games). Nintendo's 2016 show has been their worst show ever. I feel like I wasted a whole afternoon watching stupid Pokemon footage and new Zelda's overworld exploration without any surprise at all nor any free games as a sorry for not supporting your Wii U consoles three years after launch.

EDIT: I did not watch the others.

Re: Round Up: What Did Sony Announce At Its E3 2016 Press Conference?

VanillaLake

@Deadstanley The thing is all the Sony fans that make comments about PS4 and Neo superiority and mock Xbox One what will they say now? I guess we're back to the sixth generation when specifications did not matter as soon as Microsoft announced Scorpio, unless Neo is superior again, of course.

Sony made a great console right from the start. Actually, I got a PS4 just six months after launch while I waited over two years before I got an Xbox One. Microsoft started the eight generation with the wrong decisions but then they dropped Kinect 2.0, added free backwards compatibility via software emulation, and now they got rid of the worst things about Xbox One: big size and power brick. The S model is now as appealing as a PS4. By the time Scorpio is out, Xbox One will be 4 years old, but Sony is releasing Neo even sooner! Add the VR devices and you get the craziest generation ever...

Re: Reaction: Sony Saves E3 2016 with Super Strong PS4 Exclusives

@ShogunRok Praising is not bad per se, but being too biased when writing headlines and articles might not be as appreciated. I'm not talking about this article nor you in particular and also I'm not the only one who thinks so, even though I am honest enough to publicly say it here. Anyway, I did not expect anyone to agree with me on here and I did not try to offend anybody, I'm just being sincere and polite as I've always been here and elsewhere, because that's the way I am.

@Ralizah Resident Evil VII (or 7) is also the game of the show for me, specially because it seems to be survival horror again as the classic Resident Evil games. Now if only they re-released 3 and Code Veronica on PS4/Xbox One.

Re: E3 2016: Resident Evil 7 Will Scare You Silly On PS4 With VR

VanillaLake

@Churchy Looks like I'm not the only classic Resi fan here. The logo is great indeed, but I think the song took all the horror away. I know it won't be playing in-game but it's not the best way to introduce the game, in my opinion.

With REmake 2 in the works, if only Capcom re-released RE3 and Code Veronica for the current generation we would have all main RE games on PS4/Xbox One! Please...

Re: Feature: Sony PlayStation E3 2016 Press Conference Predictions

VanillaLake

@Frank90 No worries, the choice between Xbox and PS should be made based on personal tastes regarding the exclusive software. I appreciate both exclusive lineups though, although I think Microsoft is more considerate of customers.

As a long-time Nintendo fan, I agree with you, it's hard to be a Nintendo fan these days. I think Nintendo can't handle the hardware and software market at the same time, and they make better games than consoles, so my recommendation is clear. Hardware and amiibo have been keeping Nintendo too busy.

Re: Feature: Sony PlayStation E3 2016 Press Conference Predictions

VanillaLake

@Frank90 I think both Sony and Microsoft conferences are going to be interesting, while Nintendo's is going to break our hearts.

@JLPick Unfortunately, Nintendo would charge you €5 for each NES game, twice if you want them on Wii U and 3DS.

@Dodoo Amiibo is one of the worst things of the generation because, as innocent as toys can be, they are getting in the way of gamers.

@TheIronChimp That sounds good to me.

Some FFVII and FFXII updates would be really good, I'm interested in both. If a Crash trailer is not shown after all the trolling, many people are going to be angry.

I'm quite excited about RE, I expect Capcom to announce physical editions of RE4, 5 and 6 (5 confirmed in US according to Eurogamer.net). I'm not sure if they are ready to announce 7 though with all this remastering, but I hope REmake 2 has something to show us.

I hope that Sony announces that more PS2 (and PS) games are coming to the store. Finally, I hope that we won't suffer 50 minutes of PSVR market possibilities and stockholders' pockets getting full, because I couldn't care less.

Re: Talking Point: PlayStation 4K - Are You In or Out?

VanillaLake

@get2sammyb You can't expect your personal tastes to be the same as everybody else's. Most of the PS4 games I have bought are PS3 remasters (because I did not get a PS3) and I'm still waiting for more PS2 games to be available on the store. There are few new PS4 games I'm really interested in, regardless of reviews and scores. I think PS3 had a much better game library during its first 3 years.

Re: Talking Point: PlayStation 4K - Are You In or Out?

VanillaLake

Like many people have said here, if I wanted upgrades every 3 years, I'd invest in a PC. If there was an upgrading program where you got a decent part of the money you spent on PS4 back if you buy the newer model, I would be more positive about it. Also, what will people wonder when PS5 is released? I tell you the answer: Should I wait 2 or 3 years for PS5Neo? Are people really that wealthy to be buying PSVR and PS4Neo now not knowing what's around the corner?

Re: Feature: Is Crash Bandicoot Coming to PS4? 10 Reasons to Believe He Is

VanillaLake

@Grawlog I agree. I remember when I was a kid I was such a Nintendo fanboy telling everybody to buy Nintendo consoles and support Mario games (like some people in their thirties still do), but then I realised that Rare games were actually better. I can't deny Nintendo was leading the way with Super Mario 64, but then Rare made something artistically much better and with a funny script: Banjo-Kazooie. It's a masterpiece and plays great on Xbox One.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Looks Like Pure PS4 Platforming Goodness

VanillaLake

@JaxonH I don't know what Tropical Freeze has to do with the topic, but I answer you. Tropical Freeze is excellent indeed, I never argued the contrary. It's quite evident that the new people that Retro hired for making it are really good, because Retro's previous game, Donkey Kong Country Returns, is rough and its design is quite poor. The lava world looks awful and most enemies are clearly uninspired.

What I mentioned are a few ideas that Playtonic borrowed from the original Donkey Kong Country game (made by Rare) and how they mix Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country elements in order to make something "Rare" that looks great and fresh, but classic at the same time.
