Re: Reaction: PS5 Deep Dive Was As Expected, But Was Shockingly Misjudged

While I really enjoyed the technical aspects of the presentation, in terms of global communication and marketing was an unexpected terrible disaster.

I can imagine the average consumer just comparing the teraflops numbers (and the bad backward compatibility) between a sneeze and another and declare the utter defeat of Sony console.

Revolutionary Audio engine and huge I/O bandwidth looks promising to me.

Re: Civilization VI - The Best Strategy Game on PS4

arnoldlayne83

Best time sinker ever invented and my most anticipated release this year on ps4. I loved every Civ instances and this will be mine on ps4 despite having it on pc, since I would love to see more and more strategy games on console.

Also check out Stellaris and Planetfall, both are 2 amazing 4x games ported to ps4

Re: Need for Speed Heat Quickly Becomes the Most Played Entry This Generation

I cannot put this game down. Just finished the story, 9 cars in the garage, a Pontiac Firebird as my drift champion, an oldie Porsche 911 as off-road (!!!) and an Alfa Giulia Cloverleaf with 680hp to rule the streets! I can shake off up to 5 cops at heat lv. 3 now and it is always a blast and adrenaline rush.

Sleeper hit for me and truly awesome graphics at night. I keep asking myself why Gran Turismo had to dump all the customization fun, it is such a great feeling once you finally nail the setup and the chassis of a newly purchased car.

If you are looking for a Forza Horizon-like game on ps4, this is the one you need!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 298

arnoldlayne83

Mainly Need for Speed Heat: it is a great return to form for a franchise I used to love and then hate in the last decade. Progression is amazing, I spend hours tinkering around Customization of my cars, driving is addictively fun and cop chases are a thrill. It looks like playing a better version of Most Wanted with a great coat of paint by night. I can't put the controller down, every time I have 15 mins of free time I do a race or 2

Aside of that I got super bargain for Far Cry 5 and Watchdogs 2 second hand. I am enjoying a lot Far Cry 5, no radio tower, progression is all due by player exploration and quests are very different from each other. What a nice surprise of a game!

Re: Soapbox: The Most Frustrating Thing About Enthusiast Gamers

arnoldlayne83

Well for what I have seen on these pages recently, most of the criticism comes from the fact that people watching gameplay and reading some reviews did not fell super excited about Death Stranding. I did not see many "Kojima = bulls***". As we read your reviews to understand if a game could be or could not be for our taste, I think you should accept that people may be not enthusiast about games. So move on.

Re: Diablo 4 Set to Have Cosmetic Microtransactions and Paid Expansions

arnoldlayne83

Cosmetic mtxs are kind of bearable, as long as you can get a lot of them by playing too. If this helps getting a constant stream of content I am fine. Hope that's all.... No xp boosters or other BS like that.

Also it seems there will be only 3 heroes to choose at the beginning, I hope they won't add more at that ludicrous price like they did with D3 (wasn't the necromancer like 20 bucks at launch? That s insane)

Re: Diablo 4 Gameplay Shows a Clear Return to the Dark Horror of Diablo 2

arnoldlayne83

Looks amazing.

Apparently the initial project was looking more like a darksoulesque take on Diablo, so more like a 3rd person arpg, but the whole thing was scrapped in 2016 and development started again from scratch to give D4 a more classic style.

I would have loved to play a dungeon crawler with procedural generated dungeons, Diablo loot fest and combat mechanic From software style though....

But if they give me more classic Diablo, I am still a happy camper

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Death Stranding?

arnoldlayne83

Not a buy till huge price drop, reviews seem to confirm that is a good delivery man sim - fetch quests collection, and this does not really rings my personal 'I am having fun' bell. Still curious to play it more as a piece of art than as a game.

I expected these reviews, both being little divisive and getting 9/10s, but mainly because there is a Kojima bonus. In my personal opinion it would be a 7 at its best if it was done by any generic studio

Re: Death Stranding Launch Trailer Is Here, and It's an Absolute Must See

arnoldlayne83

Great trailer!

However, I am not convinced at all by the game itself. Still looking at this barren world to be traversed on foot and keep asking myself how this won't be incredibly tedious. I keep thinking of the lush world of Horizon Zero Dawn and its incredible combat mechanics. I still believe HZD has better graphics overall and is more "gamey" than this.

I will wait on the fence what the press/youtubers will have to say about this, but I am not very hyped...
