While I rushed GOW 2018 till the end and wanted more, I have dropped Ragnarok. Don't know why, but I found it a slog, moving from A to B was very long and often empty, and the wow factor was little overall.
Too much of a backlog, still playing Diablo IV and waiting for Starfield release, which will probably be the only game I will play for a foreseeable future...
Will eventually pick it up second hand/on a sale one day...
The game is way beyond my expectation. Playing since launch and thinking about it all day long when not playing. It is basically Dark Souls: Breath of the Wild: Adult version (without papermade weapons)... So it is basically what I always wanted for a souls like.
@get2sammyb then I am not 100%sure what a remaster is intended to be.... There have been a lot of them on current gen, from ps3 era, that were basically a resolution boost with high res textures and that was all...
I am now superconfused on what will be a ps4 that runs like a ps4 game on ps5, a ps4 game that gets a free booster update for ps5 (as it looks Microsoft will do) and a ps4 game that is a (almost) full price ps5 remastered...
After all, despite being great news for Microsoft and Gamepass owners, this "acquisitions race" is bad for gamers in general, because you are kind of forced to double dip in console if you want to play it all... In the current console generation, I was able to easily skip completely the Xbox One (except for the Forza franchise that I love) and play 90% of the game I wanted.
Now the only all-around solution look to be a PCmastarace
@Starkei well I am not yet so much into it to have played many many games, but apart Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey (must have for any console owner) I had a blast with Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Children of Morta, Arms (couch coop is sooo funny and chaotic), Dragon quest builders 2, Astral Chain (masterpiece of gameplay), Snipperclips (hilarious when played with friends). But aside of games (there are plenty, and it really depends on what are your tastes), it is the portability that is a huge winner for me. I can now play AAA games in 15 mins stints whenever and wherever I am in the house without having to turn on the TV....
I forgot: Splatoon 2 is the best thing that happened in pvp after counterstrike
Uhh forgot to mention the Arkane game! I am so happy they will do another immersive sim, it looks cool and interesting with the "time rewind" mechanic.
@tatsumi agreed, but still I did not see anything that made me really scream "next gen" so far even in terms of loading time (very few gameplay shown)... Aside Ratchet and Clank.
Unreal 5 presentation was way better to show me the gen gap...
The environment looks stunning and I love the feudal japan Era. However seems the samish open world game we played a lot this generation and I am slightly concerned about the combat... Looks too cinematic for my taste (batman arkham style). I was hoping for something more technical (Nioh style). Overall my hype went a little down...
Totally agree with you.... this next gen looks like the less next gen I have ever seen so far.... at least Nintendo with the Switch gave us a new way of thinking about home/portable gaming. Nothing came from Sony nor Microsoft so far...
I am also leaning towards waiting.... even possibly to the almost inevitable mid- gen Pro version of the consoles. I will pick the one with the better games. In the meantime my Switch, Ps4 huge backlog and PC with RTX card will do.
Taking a break from Dragon Quest Builder 2 (NSW) after clearing second island, playing mainly Nioh 2 and Fire Emblem 3 Houses (totally hooked in the story and gameplay loop). Switch is becoming my main console during Covid time
Nioh 2 (I simply adore its mix of Diablo and Soulslike, I could play it forever trying to improve my builds).
On Switch: Dragon Quest Builders 2 (totally addictive gameplay loop) and Luigi's Mansion 3 (coop with my GF), it is amazing how it looks great on the TV
Games are the most important deciding factor for me but I have to admit that I would be slightly pissed if Ps5 performances will be quite inferior than XseX ones

Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic
The last bit of the combat reminded me of Xenoblade chronicles
Re: New PlayStation Handheld Looking Even More Likely as Digital Foundry Backs Up Reports
They are already struggling putting out games for ps5....how they intend to support another console + psvr2????
They could call it PsVita 2 since it will probably share the same fate. And I still love my PsVita....
Re: PS5, PC FPS Concord's Poor Player Numbers Have Predictably Gone Viral
By January '25 will be on PS+ and 12 months later servers will be closed.

Re: Action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink Gets Six Minutes of Superb PS5 Gameplay
Looks like the most JRPGish-jrpg to me....easy pass
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Armored Core 6?
@Johnnycide on Switch you could try Daemon X Machina, very similar game...I recall is made by former devs or big fans of AC franchise...

Elden ring... Elden ring and elden ring. Probably the best gaming experience I ever had.
Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (PS5) - Borderlands Fantasy Spin-Off Can't Quite Find the Magic
@Richnj #54 congrats, you are spot on mate!
There is nothing worst than reviewing a game you already know you will hate.
Skill Up has a great review on his channel about this game. Very deep and explanatory, as usual.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Elden Ring?
@Ilovecoffee have you ever played The Witcher And any from software game prior saying that?
Re: That Weird Radiohead Game Hits PS5 on 18th November
That 2 albums.... What a couple of marvelous masterpieces.
Re: Elden Ring Dated for January 2022 on PS5, PS4 in New Trailer
Looks great but totally dark soulish. If they called it dark souls 4 without Martin would be the same....
I was expecting something different, more western medieval/fantasy to be fair...
Re: Best PS4 Strategy Games
Don t forget Stellaris and Planetfall. Two great scifi XXXX games

Re: Sony Confirms Spider-Man PS5 Remaster Is Not a Free Upgrade
So at the end all that talk about backward compatibility is a sheiteload....
First Bloodborne, then this... Paid remastered is the way to be...
Re: Rumour: Bloodborne Remaster Is Real, Coming to PS5 and PC
Isn't ps5 backcompatible with ps4 games? Why remastering Bloodborne then?
Does it mean that we have to get used to basically "pay" for any visual update we will get on ps5?
Re: Rumour: Bloodborne Remaster Is Real, Coming to PS5 and PC
I don t really see the needs of that but I would love a sequel instead
Re: Will Bethesda's Games Be Exclusive to Xbox From Now On? We Don't Know Yet
It depends if they are looking for the big profit or if they want to erode Sony marketshares in consoles...
Re: The Elder Scrolls, Fallout Developer Bethesda Bought By Microsoft
@Peach64 true, they may come to Ps5 2-3 years after, something like Sony is doing with Horizon Zero dawn for pc

So basically the whole WRPG genra is now Microsoft exclusive....

Re: Godfall Gets a PS5 Gameplay Trailer
My God... That music killed completely all the little hype I had for this game.
It was like pouring ketchup over a chocolate donut...
Re: Talking Point: Did the PS5 Games Reveal Event Meet Your Expectations?
@Starkei after mocking the Switch for its first year, I have to say it became my first gaming console. There are plenty of amazing games on it
Re: Talking Point: Did the PS5 Games Reveal Event Meet Your Expectations?
@playstation1995 agree! And Prey is so underrated! It deserved more success.
Word up son!

Re: Talking Point: Did the PS5 Games Reveal Event Meet Your Expectations?
Not really, apart some highlights like Demon Souls, GT7, HZD 2 and Ratchet and Clank there was nothing that made me want it on Day 1.
Also I am not sure I felt the generational gap in terms of graphics.
The console looks like a gaming router to me. I would have liked something more "monolitical "
Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Doesn't Use the Origins and Odyssey Loot System
Well... I really enjoy the loot fest that was Odyssey...
Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Map Size Is a Bit Larger Than Odyssey's, Says Ubisoft Dev
I don’t care, I loved the worlds of Origins and Odissey and I am ready for more!

Re: Soapbox: Sony Needs to Share a PS5 Roadmap
Just bought yesterday a gaming laptop. I need to be very honest, for next gen I am leaning more and more towards Xbox and Gold subscription.
Sony really needs to impress me both on software and hardware sides to convince me to be an early adopter this time...

Re: Rumour: PS5 Will Have Shorter Supply Than PS4 at Launch, Delay Unlikely with High Price
No problem. I will dedicate myself to clean up my huge backlog till I will understand what is the next gen console to go!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 319
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Final Fantasy VII Remake?
No, no plan of buying it... I really got bored of Final Fantasy XV and now I have zero interest in the franchise
Re: Guide: Best PS4 Exclusive Games
My personal Podium: 3' Horizon Zero Dawn, 2' God of War, 1' Bloodborne.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 318
Doom Eternal, Nioh 2 and Everybody Golf (bought on sales now) on Ps4, Dragon Quest Builders 2 on Switch (becoming totally addicted to it)...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 317
Nioh 2 and Doom Eternal. I am not sure which I am loving the most at the moment. They are both brilliant and potential GOTY

Nioh 2....such an amazing game. "another try and I ll go to bed.... S#&t is 3 a.m.!"
