Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?

chasimus

I've traditionally been an anti-ActiBlizz AND Microsoft person for most of my life. MS scorned me way back and I apparently still hold a grudge to this day haha. I may give their smaller games a shot every now and then, but I've never been a big fan of the other games anyway. They're just cash cows with tons of MTXs in them, so I'm good. There are plenty other shooters, MMOs, and platformers out there that I can enjoy.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Realistically Expect from PS5, PS4's Game Pass Inspired PS Plus Reboot?

chasimus

They need to make PS Now a streaming service for everything. Stream your PS5/PS4 games from PS Now on the go, even if you don't have it downloaded directly to your console, but you own them. That's a service that Sony needs to have. Heck, throw in PS3 game for that matter. The way PS Now is right now needs to go and it needs to be integrated into your entire digital catalog.

Re: PS5 Game Compression Shrinks Tales of Arise by 20GB

@Olmaz I would also add that the PS5 SSD is a 12-channel single-layer SSD, so devs can pull whatever they want whenever they want to with no other requirements. Which is also what makes this SSD so special. Most SSDs are something like 6 or 8-channel and dual-layered, so there are requirements for reading and writing data to those two layers that could potentially slow up the SSD, or at minimum make the devs have to get creative, like they have to do with HDDs, just not as much so.

Re: Poll: Which Bethesda Franchise Will PS5 Miss the Most?

chasimus

Honestly, looking back, I have never finished a ZeniMax game, which says all I really need to say. They're great to start out, but generally so bloated and boring by about 20 hours in that I never really feel bad about moving on. So, no, I'm not going miss them coming to PlayStation.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Expectations for PSVR 2 on PS5?

chasimus

My biggest expectation that most don't usually talk about is that it becomes a PC-compatible headset as well. If it's going to have a one-USB-C cord hookup, it can literally go with any VR compatible PC/laptop. This would heavily increase the amount of sales it could have. With PlayStation doing more PC stuff these days, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
As far as cool upgrades to the headset versus PSVR:
1) incredibly intuitive controllers
2) inside-out tracking
3) better resolution
4) smaller frame
