I reckon as it's a big announcement it's fallout 4 only because Elder scrolls online is due out in June so they don't want to shoot that down in flames before it is releases by saying "by the way a single player next gen version of this is in the pipeline" so they will need something else so fallout 4 fits the bill in my opinion.
professorhat thanks for the info, fair enough that it may cost a bit more to support than a physical copy but I think an increase on average of 33% extra (in some cases a bit more) is a bit steep and should be looked at by Sony especially when they want to encourage digital downloads. cheers again
I loved the large open worlds of Far Cry 3 and 4 (even though I'm still playing 4) but that is because a lot of events and situations can happen on the fly and you do not have the usual trigger points that can happen in other worlds even though they are present in a more random shape or form, so it always feels unpredictable which keeps it fresher for longer. Large open worlds need to be unpredictable like the fore mentioned Far Cry 3 & 4 and GTA V to name a few but without unpredictability they could get boring.
Good luck to the guys who have time to start the game over from scratch but as munkyknuts has already said a spate of flying PS4's would be no good, would need to get air traffic controllers involved. Not for me, I like to Enjoy my games without launching them out of the window in frustration
I enjoyed the resistance series but it was not my ultimate favorite FPS but was a good series to play, quite surprised it was classed as a failure tho?
It's on my Hit list, may not be able to play it until after a couple of months after release due to only affording rentals but hopefully it should be worth the wait
mmmm, I'll give it a go, I was the same with Destiny after hearing a lot of bad reviews but I can feel myself being reeled in further every time I play it, so being pleasantly suprised I am happy to give this a chance also with the steep learning curve in mind, what have I got to lose...... apart from time
I feel sorry for the guys at Techland and people still keep blaming them. it's the same as a seller getting blamed for a courier who forgot to deliver their order so give them a break guys
Carrying on a little more on this subject, Amazon Kindle sells digital copies of books cheaper than their Physical copies and in some cases up to half the price of the physical copy so why doesn't Sony follow suit???
@mikey85 hear hear as they would say in the house of commons , if Sony sold the games at the same price as the retailers they would sell a hell of a lot more especially with the pre-order download option to download the game before release and then able to play it on release day, saves waiting to see if Mr postman delivers my pre-order on the day of release if I've booked the day off for it , I have been let down on a couple of occasions waiting for re-lease day delivery (not mentioning Amazon).
As I've said in a previous forum I still can't understand why the digital versions of games on playstation store are so high compared to their Physical copies from retailers especially when there is no packaging, physical blu-ray disc, distributors involved etc which should make it a hell of a lot cheaper. On average Playstations store are selling games £15+ more than the physical copies and considering Sony want to push console users towards Digital they are totally missing the plot.
True, except for on the Playstation store, very expensive compared to buying from the shops, why can't Sony try to match retailers prices especially when the versions are digital (no packaging), I would buy more from them then, sigh...... nevermind, moan over
I dont agree with JLPick sorry, (no offence intended) but we need the competition to keep the console makers on their toes which drives up the quality of games and pushes the console market forward. Competition is good for the customer
All I can say is congratulations Microsoft, I am a playstation fanboy but the way I look at it is tough competition keeps the competitors on their toes which is a good thing for gamers in the long run
I'm not the type to moan but isn't it time to drop the surge of retro type games for the PS4? All we have been having since the PS4 has been released on PS+ is free retro type games, I'm not interested and never will be. I know the developers have to start from somewhere but come on...... I didn't buy the most powerful games console on the Planet to play games that I may have played 15 years ago on my Megadrive, what happened to progress????
It looks really pretty, I won't be able to comment on game play etc until I have actually played it, proof's in the pudding as they say but it's one on the radar for me.
I agree with Swinkel, I loved Skyrim and the only reason I put it down was for the long load times on the PS3 which in some buildings can take about 5 mins to get out of a building, I'm not a big MMO fan myself but would much prefer a sequel to Skyrim on the PS4 or even a PS4 port of Skyrim would be cool
I would definitely want to play Assassins Creed in Feudal Japan it would be a completely different location than all the other assassins creeds which have been mostly European and American based with the first being set in the middle East so a change of architecture would be refreshing especially with mighty legendary warriors like the Samurai and Ninja thrown in the mix, I couldn't think of a more suitable location...... as long as it's done in western style (no animae)
That's great news!!! I hope other developers start following suit and phase out the cross gen titles, the PS4 has sold enough consoles to sanction this (if I'm correct that is)
