Re: CD Projekt RED Cancels Dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Game

chris730920

I think CD Project should learn from Hello games mistake after the initial disaster of No Man's sky. Hello Games took a step back and looked at where they went wrong, worked hard to fix the issues highlighted to create a solid foundation, then built upon the game with free updates and add-ons which from what I hear from Forums has repaired their reputation and taken the game past what was originally promised.

Re: Soapbox: PSVR's Crap Load of Cables Has Put Me Off

chris730920

I loved VR and was an early adopter but I have been unable to play it since having a 4K HDR TV as getting to the back of my TV to change over cables etc can be a bit of a nightmare but I'm saving up for PSVR 2 and the new move controllers so looking forward to playing when released. Does anyone know roughly when PSVR2 is pencilled in for release?

Re: Cost of Fixing Cyberpunk 2077 Irrelevant, Says CD Projekt RED

chris730920

I was really enjoying it on next gen and probably halfway through the prologue but decided to park it until the next gen version is released so I can enjoy better visuals. In the open world the graphics/textures look substandard outside of buildings but look pretty good inside. I want to be wowed inside and outside

Re: PS5 Becomes UK's Biggest Ever Console Launch, Says New Report

chris730920

I was lucky enough to get both PS5 and Series X after careful planning. I did get caught out with the PS5 as I didn't know about the pre-order situation after Sony announced it when I was asleep, by the time I awoke they had sold out but I heard rumours of Argos selling it the next day and was able to get on that boat. I feel sorry for the people who have missed out. The Xbox was relatively easier to get hold of as I had a bit of lead time up to pre-order day.

Re: PS5's Small Performance Advantages Over Xbox Series X Prompt Microsoft Statement

chris730920

@Snake_V5 yes the PS5 seems to be a lot faster than the series X at downloading. even though I had the disc version of AC Valhalla it only installed just over 1GB from the disc the other 47GB was downloaded from the Microsoft servers which took around 2 hrs. Like I said earlier I downloaded/installed 5 digital games on the PS5 in under 2 hrs which included Spider-Man remastered, horizon zero dawn, fallout 4, bugsnax and astrobot.

Re: PS5's Small Performance Advantages Over Xbox Series X Prompt Microsoft Statement

chris730920

@Snake_V5 The series X is much faster than the Xbox one X (my old console) on both load times and installs but like I said before it's nowhere near as fast as the PS5 in practice or on paper. If I remember right the SSD specs on the Series X were around 2.4Gbps and the PS5 around 5.5Gbps so in theory it's literally twice as fast as the series X. The Xbox One X for comparison is around 200mbps so the series X SSD alone is around 40 times faster than the Xbox one X hard-drive so the PS5 SSD in theory is around 80 times faster than the Xbox one X.

Re: PS5's Small Performance Advantages Over Xbox Series X Prompt Microsoft Statement

chris730920

@Snake_V5 yes the Series X is much slower at installing games. I bought AC Valhalla on disc and it took 2 hrs to install on the Series X. However on the PS5 I installed Spider-man Miles morales (on Disc), and 5 other titles digitally (spiderman-remastered, BugSnaz, Astrobot, Horizon Zero Dawn and Fallout 4 altogether in 2 hrs. So the SSD on the PS5 is impressive to say the least.

Re: PS5's Small Performance Advantages Over Xbox Series X Prompt Microsoft Statement

chris730920

I have both the PS5 and Xbox Series X and I have to say there is a marked difference with loading and installing games on the PS5 compared to the Series X. The PS5 leaves the Series X behind in the dust. Originally it was going to be the Series X as my go to console as it has just over 1 Teraflops of graphical grunt over the PS5 but that has been wiped away by the PS5's amazing loading speeds to my surprise so now the PS5 is my go to console .

Re: PS5 Is Breaking Pre-Order Records at Some Retailers

chris730920

I was just about lucky to be able to order one this morning in the UK around 7.45am with Argos, I told my friend who tried to order one 5 minutes later and they had ran out of stock. He did however get hold of one with a small local retailer mid-morning so both happy bunnies now .

Re: Will PS5 Games Be 60 Frames-Per-Second?

chris730920

60 FPS should be standard on next gen full stop......if the current gen (Xbox one X) can hit 30fps at native 4k why shouldn't next gen consoles with more powerful CPU/GPUs, faster/more RAM (double the RAM than PS4), dedicated RTL hardware and SSD drives up to 40 times faster than current gen not run 60fps at a minimum for all games?

Re: As Microsoft Looks Poised to Discontinue Xbox One, Sony Has a Huge Opportunity with PS4

chris730920

This is a smart move from Microsoft. They have recognised that a lot of people who still have 1080p TVs cannot afford to pay for a new TV as well as the next gen console so this bridges the gap. I know that the higher spec next gen consoles would have the 1080p option for users to utilize but a cheaper next gen console with 1080p would fit the bill for people with smaller gaming budgets if they want to take the leap into the next generation without breaking the bank.

Re: Industry Rallies Around The Last of Us 2 Voice Actor After Hate Messages Are Revealed

chris730920

Yes, gaming is meant to take you into worlds and situations that 99.99% to 100% of people will never experience and gives you a welcome break from reality. These kind of people still act as if they are still in the game and are unable to come back into the real world when they put the game controller down. So this is obviously a mental health issue. So sad for both the people who are giving out this abuse as well as for the victims.

Re: Xbox Boss Believes Microsoft Is in Very Good Position, Will Be Able to Demonstrate Hardware Advantages Over PS5

chris730920

I'm buying both consoles anyway with PS5 being the 1st purchase. I have both Xbox one X and PS4 Pro. Yep the Xbox series X will be more powerful than the PS5 but the SSD on the PS5 has swung it for me to be my default console as both are capable of 4k 60FPS. Currently my Xbox one X is my default console because it's so quiet and has better hardware than the PS4 Pro with GamePass providing better value than PS Now but Sony has undoubtibly got better exclusives by far.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Preferred Game Length?

chris730920

I never 100% a game, I do all the side quests and other activities that help me get my character up to godlike status i.e. fully skilled up, top of the range quality weapons/armor etc and then I complete all the the main missions (and secondary quests if I'm enjoying the game) so I don't need the game jam packed. I like a game to last me between 2-6 weeks after that I get bored. The most recent God of War was a perfect length and didn't overdo it on side quests and collectibles that assassins creed games can be guilty of at times but I still love them .

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Look Better on PS5 At Launch, Will Get a Free Next-Gen Update in 2021

chris730920

I bought this as a pre-order in February but not going to play it until the full next gen upgrade has been released. I'm also not playing Ghost of Tsushima, Last of us 2 and Assassin's creed Valhalla until next gen but I'm filling in the gaps by going through all the Assassins Creed games from the first game up to Odyssey as well as RDR2 so plenty to hold my attention until the end of November .

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Doesn't Use the Origins and Odyssey Loot System

chris730920

Sounds great, returning the series back to what we loved about AC. I have previously bought all the AC main games (11) and now slowly going through them in order since the announcement of Valhalla. I have completed AC and AC2, currently going through/enjoying Brotherhood (remastered) what a great series of games. I am loving strolling around the different towns/cities in each time period and taking in the sounds and sights while I proceed to my next objective whether it be main or side quest, at a relaxing pace (apart from having to dispatch over zealous guards and my next target). I got around 6 months to finish 8.5 AC games 's......not sure I can finish them all in that timescale tho but I'll enjoy the journey .

Re: Don't Expect Assassin's Creed Valhalla to Run at 60 Frames-Per-Second on PS5

chris730920

Wait a minute!!! Sony and Microsoft have both been boasting 4K up to 120fps in 4K and even 8K, (I'm sure that Microsoft even boasted 240fps in 4K) for their new consoles so how the hell are we only getting 30fps??? I thought the days of 30fps 4K should have been ended with the next gen?? I am now having 2nd thoughts about getting next gen, I have saved up the money to buy both. I am really confused and highly disappointed

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Won't Waste Your Time with Unnecessary Grinding

chris730920

Since the announcement of Valhalla I have started playing the assassins creed series from the beginning and planning to play them all on release. I have to admit I'm playing assassins creed on the Xbox one X (sorry as it is backwards compatible without having to dust off my PS3) and I'm loving the game, I forgot how good it really was and I look forward to playing through all the other games in the series. I am saving up to buy both the PS5 and Xbox series X as they both have advantages over each other in different ways (please bear with me). Gamepass is much better both than PS Now both in value of the games on offer and all games can be downloaded onto the console, where there is only a limited amount of games can be downloaded onto the PS4. X Box series X will be backwards compatible with Xbox one, 360 and Xbox, where the PS5 will only be backwards compatible with PS4, the X box Series X is graphically more powerful than the PS5 but both systems are more than capable of 4k at 60fps. The thing that's has swung it for me to decide that the PS5 will be my main console is that the X box hard drive would be around half the speed of the PS5 and Sony have no doubt the best single player games on the market. I will be buying Valhalla on the PS5

Re: Is Classic Far Cry 3 Villain Vaas Teasing His Return?

chris730920

Vaas was much more intimidating than Hoyt in Far Cry 3 and should have been the "Big boss" as such. Yeah it would be great if vaas had retreated to lick his wounds and recreated his empire again This has inspired me to pick up Far Cry 3 remastered again.....see you soon Vaas

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Australian Rating Could Indicate the Game Is On Track

chris730920

If a game is ready for release, gamers will understand if a title is not available for physical release until Covid-19 is under control. I'm sure I read previously that digital game sales have overtaken physical sales over the last couple of years so I don't see a reason why finished games can't be released digitally in the interim and the Physical versions being released at a later date when safe to do so.

Re: PS5 Is 'The Most Exciting Hardware in 20 Years'

chris730920

I am fortunate enough to have both PS4 Pro and Xbox one X. I love both machines and they both have their advantages over each other in different ways. I am looking forward for both consoles and I'm saving hard for both of them with a little help of my flexible friend can't wait to see what the PS5 is offering!!!

Re: Rumour: Cyberpunk 2077 May Have Been Delayed Because It Runs Badly on PS4 and Xbox One

chris730920

@shigurui - I genuinely hope you are right and agree that Horizon, GoW and Death Stranding look amazing and run with limited issues. There has only been one launch exclusive announced for PS5 which is Godfall, it is rumoured that PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles will be on par with Hardware specs so the only way to convince users of which platform to buy (apart from being a fan) is the launch exclusive games. So TLOU2, Ghost of Tshushima, Dying Light 2 and Godfall, could tip the scale for Sony on launch with Microsoft only offering Halo Infinite and Senua's Saga, so it makes business sense to keep the Sony exclusives back for launch.

Re: PS5 Is the Easiest Console Ever to Develop for Allegedly

chris730920

Both next Gen Xbox and PlayStation are boasting up to 120fps at 4K & 30fps for 8k so 4K at 60fps with RTL shouldn't be a problem. Both Microsoft and Sony are going to get as close as they can to each other with regards to firepower and I can see them being on par with each other on that front, so it's all going to be decided by the quality of games, exclusives & subscription services offered to decide who comes out on top in the next round of the consoles war, but that's good news for gamers. Microsoft have upped the anti this year by buying more games studios paving the way for more exclusives and providing the excellent Game pass Ultimate subscription service which is great value for money with top quality games. If Sony improve the PlayStation Now service with better quality games then it will take this advantage away from Microsoft going into the next round.
