Re: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Sales Have Been 'Very Disappointing', Says Ubisoft

chris730920

Ghost Recon Wildlands carried on the formula which had worked well in the past by using the usual AI team-mates (which is its main selling point) and it had the option to play offline if you wanted, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ghost Recon Breakpoint on the other hand doesn't have either of these options so Ubisoft shot themselves in the foot with this. It's like releasing a new Gran Turismo where you don't have cars but can only race with go-carts and if you lose internet connectivity in the middle of the race you have to start again. I love Ubisoft games in general but they slipped up on this one.

Re: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Details an Impressive Year 1 Roadmap of Content

chris730920

@WanderingBullet the Beta is starting tomorrow Sept 5th (not sure what time sorry). If you already have the old technical test version of Breakpoint on your PS4 it should have updated to Beta. I joined Uplay+ yesterday which unfortunately at the moment is only being offered on PC, the subscription includes Ghost Recon BreakPoint so it will be interesting if the additional content is included in this. I only joined Uplay+ on PC yesterday as I hope early adoptions help towards making the subscription successful and then it will be more likely to be offered as a service on PS4/PS5 eventually

Re: Rumour: PS5's Graphics Processor Is a Beast

chris730920

As a long time PlayStation fan (1,2,3, 4 & pro) and a recent convert to Microsoft (XBoneX), I have to say that Microsoft offers better subscription services than Sony (Game pass ultimate is a couple of levels above PSPlus with regards to value for money and quality of games as well as a better value EA Access subscription). The X Box one X is quieter albeit a more powerful console than the PS4 Pro which has helped Microsoft gain a bit of ground before the next round of console wars. Being fair even though the Xbox one X is more powerful than the PS4 Pro it is almost silent whereas the pro sounds on times like a Jumbo jet on takeoff hence my dabble into the Microsoft world after having enough of a virtual Heathrow airport in my Living room. With a bit of tweaking to the PS Plus Subscription (making it better value for money and giving greater empathise to local installation where available) Sony could take back a bit of ground that Microsoft has made since the release of Xbox One X and Game Pass Ultimate, but saying that Sony has lost the backwards compatibility war on this generation and would find it near impossible to gain back any ground that Microsoft has made before the release of the Next Gen consoles. Moving forward on the last stage of this console generation it would be beneficial for Sony to get UbiSoft on-board by offering Uplay+ as this looks like it WILL become a Juggernaut of a game subscription service with an impressive catalogue offering of 100+ games including the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Watch Dogs Legions etc. With regards to the next generation console war, to keep ahead of the game (without stating the obvious), Sony needs to make the PS5 as quiet as possible with on par performance if not better than the Xbox Anaconda as well as better Value/Quality game subscription Services. Sony also needs to continue developing the PSVR2 which to be frank the PSVR has been highly influential when it comes to keeping me on board with Sony on this current console generation. To round it all up the PS4 Pro and X Box One X are great gaming platforms and I'm grateful for being lucky enough to be in a position where I have the best of both worlds when it comes to console gaming. If possible I intend to own both the Sony and Microsoft next gen consoles with a little help from my flexible friends of course

Re: Rumour: Word That PS5 Is More Powerful Than Project Scarlett Corroborated by Colin Moriarty

chris730920

I don't consider myself a traitor and I'm not one to boast but I'm saving up to buy both consoles as they promise to be great machines with high quality exclusive titles. I am lucky enough to have both Xbox one X and PS4 Pro. They both have advantages over the other in different ways but they are great gaming machines. I'm glad I bought both because It has given me a lot more choice of games plus exclusives both sides are top quality. At the end of the day it's good for the industry as both continue to push for dominance in the games market which means better quality games for the consumer and games are the things that matter the most. Profits made from game sales far outweighs what is made from selling the hardware itself over the console life-cycle.

Re: Soapbox: Days Gone Is the Biggest 180 I've Ever Done on a Video Game

chris730920

Mmmm, I'm sort of going through a 180 myself in the opposite direction. I was enjoying the slow moving survivalist approach, being careful/stealthy when attacking marauder camps, clearing nests etc and then scavenging the loot once they've been cleared. I always made sure all my supplies/weapons were fully topped up and I gradually upgraded my character to the point where I nearly have all the perks available. I never fast travelled and enjoyed biking around rescuing people from Freakers and bad guys on my travels. I am not saying where I am in the story to avoid any spoilers but it has got to the stage now where every main story mission means you have to take out a horde which for a run and gunner would be a dream come true but I'm not a fan of run and gun so it's taking me in a direction I don't particularly like...I'll try to persist for a couple of missions more but if all that's left in the story is run and gun then I'll have to put it down for a while.

Re: Poll: One Week Later, Is Red Dead Redemption 2 the Best Game of 2018?

chris730920

Yeah, I've been a victim of the wanted system, I was in Rhodes being a good citizen and enquiring with the beggar to see how he was getting on after I saw him last and some half breed started mouthing off at me. I tried to defuse the situation but he started punching me. After I received a number of blows I proceeded to hit him back. Suddenly he pulled out his gun and the coward started shooting at me, I ran to take cover and he said "Well, at least he knows where his place is now". This comment boiled my blood and it turned me from the wild west's answer to mother Theresa into The Punisher. I thought no way is some half breed hickey who looked like an extra from the hills have eyes going to get the better of me so I shot him straight through his big browed Neanderthal head and he hit the floor like a giant cowpat. Suddenly I was surrounded by the law, shooting at me from all sides and after 30 seconds of trying to defend myself; my wanted level went from zero to $85, so to avoid my bounty becoming big enough to sink the Titanic I made a run for it, so yeah the wanted level does need quite a bit of tweaking...so much for helping the needy

Re: Soapbox: Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Exploration Mode Is a Big Step Forward, But It Doesn't Go Far Enough

chris730920

I am playing this in exploration mode at the moment and I love it, so much so that I thought I'd try Far cry 5 in a similar vein by getting rid of the icons on the map (except world Icons) turning off target marking, the on screen compass and a load of other HUD options apart from the on screen warnings of being spotted or where the damage is coming from and it brings a completely different feel to the game and how you play it. You tend to play the game more naturally i.e. you are more cautious about how you approach buildings/situations, it also brings out your natural curiosity and you explore a lot more without it feeling like a grind. So in a sense not only has assassins creed odyssey made a big step forward in open world gaming it has also changed the way I play open world games in general

Re: DLC Review: NEXT Makes No Man's Sky the Best it's Ever Been

chris730920

I never thought I would like the 3rd person view in this game but I love it, it seems to make the game even more chilled than it was before I will not be going back to the 1st person view anymore. I like the new crafting mechanics and the new scanner ability to highlight resources and buried technologies etc it makes a huge difference to the game. I much prefer the new graphic scheme, It looks much better than before. Touch wood I have not had much problems with performance on my pro just the odd momentary pauses every so often.

Re: PS4 'Entering Final Phase of Its Life' Says Sony CEO

chris730920

I think 2020 will be the year that PS5 will release and I'll probably get it at launch. I hear that Sony wants the PS5 to be backwards compatible with PS4 games so it should be a smoother transition for users who are afraid of missing out on their back catalogue or the games that they have bought digitally through Playstation Store/Playstation Plus.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Ditches Traditional Campaign Mode

chris730920

I like games like COD to have both single player and Multiplayer. I enjoy the single player campaigns it's like a good warm up before you go into the Multiplayer mode, the only prob for multiplayer is that you cannot pause the game when the family needs your full attention, which in my case is quite a lot

Re: Far Cry 5 Destroys Franchise Sales Records

chris730920

I've started buying Digital versions of the games that I know I will enjoy and touch wood so far my Game loving Radar is working well. The downside is that you can't sell it on when you've finished it but the good side is that you don't have to buy it again when you double dip...or triple dip.....

Re: April PlayStation Plus Games Announced

chris730920

Mad Max is a great underestimated game that flew under the radar. If you love open world games then this game is a must for you!! I've completed it twice so far and every so often I feel the need to go back to the Wastelands. Love it!!!
