Re: Review: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (PS4)

chris730920

@get2sammyb I've heard rumours that the PS4 has not got the power to run Fallout 4, if the Pro had the power but the normal 4 did not would they release it for the Pro only??? I have a Pro myself and I know Sony do not want to split the Pro audience up from the normal PS4 audience but if they had no choice due to performance restrictions would Sony bite the bullet?

Re: Review: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (PS4)

11 hours in and I'm still saying "wow this is brilliant" this is the way to go for first person open world games. The visual quality is similar to a good VHS film but the scale and presence that VR gives you is outstanding and makes up for the visual downgrade from true 1080p. Dual shock also seems the way to go as well, I have move controllers but while it's a good gimmick the accuracy of the controllers makes for frustrating gaming. I'm happy with the old fashioned first person experience with a Dual Shock controller merged with the scale and immersion of the VR headset. I hope other AAA first person games come into the Frey, games like Fallout 3/4 and Far cry 3/4 would be amazing in VR.

Re: Hands On: Skyrim VR Looks and Plays Great with PlayStation VR

chris730920

I played for 6 hrs today and took all the VR safeguards off and have not felt sick once . a great port of the game to VR, yeah it's blurry but I'd be happy playing a lot more 1st person games in VR, it adds so much scale and is a lot more immersive than playing on your TV, heaven knows what PSVR 2 games will be like in years to come with better, crisper visuals. so I'm definitely up for fallout 4 next year in PSVR....I think Far cry 4 should be ported as well

Re: PS4 Pro Owners Are More Likely to Own PlayStation VR

chris730920

I must admit as was in 2 minds of buying a Xbox one X for the power but as soon as I heard about Skyrim VR I changed my mind as the Pro was supposed to have upped the quality of visuals in PSVR so I bought the pro and pre-ordered Skyrim VR. I must say the pro definitely uppped the visual quality in VR, I am glad that Skyrim changed my mind roll on next Friday for the Skyrim VR release.

Re: Hands On: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Has Improved Massively with PlayStation VR

chris730920

I've already pre-ordered this for my PSVR digitally. I'm really looking forward to feeling the scale of the game, I've loved the scale in all the other games I've played on PSVR. I've never been a big fan of the move controllers in VR whenever I have the option I always use the PS4 controller which I will be using this time...roll on a week Friday, I've taken the day off as well

Re: God of War Director Speaks Out in Defence of Single Player Games

chris730920

I'm not a big fan of multiplayer games to be honest, I don't mind the games like Journey and Destiny because you're playing with another player but not really in contact with them. I much prefer the single player experience especially with a open world where you can explore and tackle the missions/side missions in your own time without some troll coming along with the intention of ruining your day. There's more of a story driven goal with single player games in my experience which makes the games a lot more interesting.

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Destiny 2 One Month Later?

chris730920

I enjoyed Destiny 2 and found it in a lot of ways better than the first one but since the new playstation software update I keep getting intermittent "unable to contact Destiny servers" errors (even though my Destiny game is up to date) so I'm putting it to one side so I can part-ex it in for Assassins Creed Origins at the end of the month

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Trailer?

chris730920

In the last game John Marsdon was a man who did wrong in the past, he knew what he did wrong and tried hard to redeem himself. He became honest, respectful, trustworthy and took no prisoners when it came to dealing with any bad people, that's what made him such a likeable character, this guy morgan seems an absolute piece of ***t and doesn't come across as likeable at all...a bully with a knife and a gun...me no like ...but I'm going to get the game anyway!!!

Re: Hands On: Far Cry 5 Sticks to the Tried and Tested Formula

chris730920

I've loved All the games in the Far Cry series, yep they have a similar formula but it works, the world surprises you with random events for example you are scoping out a camp trying to work out your attack strategy when all of a sudden you hear a roar of a predator behind you, you break out your loud weapons to take it down and the whole camp goes on alert so and all hell breaks loose, the other predators in the area hear the commotion and it seems to ring the dinner bell for them so even more carnage just when you thought you were going to free the camp stealthily ... Love it!!!

Re: Hands On: Is Skyrim Any Good with PlayStation VR?

chris730920

I've already pre-ordered Skyrim VR, I'm not a big fan of the move as the tracking is atrocious and you're more likely to be facing away from the camera after a while which makes it even worse but so far I enjoy using the PS4 Dual shock controller on PSVR Games, it worked well on Robinson and the assembly so that's the way I'll play on Skyrim. I'm looking forward to seeing the scale experienced within VR which is a completely different plain than on a TV.

Re: Huge No Man's Sky PS4 Patch 1.3 Does Add Multiplayer, Kind Of

chris730920

I got bored with NMS a couple of months ago even though I thought it was a great game, It's still installed on my Pro as I've been praying for PSVR support so I will download the patch when I get home from work and start the game from scratch, just like I did a year ago (I will back up my old save just incase )

Re: Hands On: Arizona Sunshine Needs Work on PlayStation VR

chris730920

Well that's a relief to know that a patch is coming out for this, I bought and played this last night but found that accuracy was hard to attain when shooting (I had no difficulties in London Heist firing range or game) it also had problem with getting stuck in walls and the camera blacking out so I couldn't move etc, on occasions my Point of view was at sitting down level so I couldn't see into ammo boxes etc so I had to restart it a couple of times because of these problems but apart from that I enjoyed this game. I will wait for the patch to come out and I'll give it another go.

Re: Sony Says Goodbye to the PS3 After 10 Years on the Market

chris730920

It had its problems especially with the earlier models with the overheating but it was a great jump up in console gaming fidelity and content, my first game I bought with it was Metal gear solid 4: sons of the patriots which my eyes was a great jump up from PS2. I've had a PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 but the biggest graphical jump up was from the PS2 to PS3, there was not such a jump from PS3 up to PS4....even though I love it!!!!!!

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda's Animation Thing Has Gone Too Far Now

chris730920

To me this is just another Mass Effect release remember the uproar when Mass effect 3 was released...it blasted on for months and went venomous. I've played ME2 and ME3 and quite enjoyed them (inspite of the fallout) and wondered why such fuss. Most RPG's never really have top notch animations in cut scenes (Uncharted 4 and tomb raider being a few of the exceptions) I haven't bought Mass effect Andromeda at the moment as I'm playing HZD and I have Ghost Recon Wildlands installed ready to go but this has not put me off buying MEA, I look forward to playing it in the future. For some mysterious reason the mass effect massive seem to like biting the hand that feeds them i.e. EA and Bioware....it's just a game guys, it's meant to be fun

Re: Sony Is Finally Killing Off the PS3 in Japan

chris730920

Still have my PS3 as a media player and occasional minecraft platform for my daughter, what a great machine had many hundreds of hours of fun, still "borrow" it from time to time to play old classics like Red Dead redemption but my PS4 is the one getting all my love now

Re: Hands On: Tagging Tangos and Having a Great Time in the Ghost Recon: Wildlands PS4 Beta

chris730920

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, yes the driving is unrealistic, yes the helicopter takes a lot to get used to but if you can overlook this then overall it's a great game. I loved scouting out the bases and then working out how to pick off the enemy undetected using sync shoots which being fair was a different challenge in each location keeping the gameplay interesting. I completed both districts twice and I'm really looking forward till the full version comes out. I found the best way to explore/play is to find all the yellow information locations to open up the main missions, which most of the time reveals the white information locations on the map to pick up the locations of the weapon crates, weapon upgrades, rebel supply, rebel upgrades, skill points and specialised medals. I then completed all the main missions except for the final boss missions (leaving them for last). I then mopped up all the side missions and unexplored locations before finishing off the bosses, this saved me from having to visit any area more than once. Thanks Ubisoft

Re: Rumour: GameStop Lists Far Cry 5 as a 2017 Release

chris730920

I'm happy enough with the ubisoft way at the moment. I enjoy structured games that you have to scout an area ie. unlock a tower, take out all the bases and visit all the locations before moving onto the next. Yes I admit it can be samey but Ubisoft are great at varying the surroundings of each tower providing variety at every location which is impressive. They put an impressive amount of detail into each area/game and I enjoy exploring each and everyone. I am a big fan of the assassins creed and far cry series and I'm hyped for the upcoming Ghost recon wildlands.....which will also be unlocking a area, taking out the bases and I can't wait!!!!

Re: Watch Dogs 2 Hacks Together a Free Demo on PS4

chris730920

I already have this game. I nearly sold it after 1 day after getting annoyed and frustrated by the over sensitive AI, In other words if you took a guard down with a stealth mode 90% of the time a guard who was in another room would know that you had taken someone down (even though it was done silently) and the whole complex would be on top of you within 10 seconds. so after accepting the fact that you can't do stealth take downs properly and finding other means of completing the tasks by using your gadgets as much as possible instead make it an enjoyable game, so I really like it now

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated PS4 Games of 2017

chris730920

There's quite a few for me (if they do come out out this year)

7) Mass Effect Andromeda
8) Elite: Dangerous

10) Red Dead redemption 2
11) Days gone

and for the VR Experience Ace Combat 7 and Farpoint.....What a year this will be for games
