Re: Reaction: Sony Said Xbox Game Pass Isn't Sustainable, Then Released One of Its Tentpole Titles into the Service Anyway

@munstre If MS starts to provide a bad experience for the consumer, people will just go to the thing that's better. Competition allows the consumer to choose and therefore win. MS is providing a great experience with GP, and I'm all for it. Also, just FYI, I also subscribe to PS+ and have PS3, PS4, and PS5 all hooked up and played regularly.

@T0mizawa @Snake_V5 Of course I didn't go out and check every one, but I'm pretty sure 99.99999% of all games and DLCs are backed up and available online at this point - even the incredibly obscure stuff is out there if you know where to look AKA Google search. These games and DLCs will not be lost, but merely no longer available to buy. Anyone who truly wants to play that stuff can do so if they try hard enough, and it honestly isn't that difficult.

Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4

First of all, why does anyone care if GamePass is profitable/sustainable? Do you have stock in the company or something? It seriously doesn't matter - take advantage of it as a consumer while you can.

Second, lots of developers have told the public that GP actually increased game sales. Increased - as in, more sales than if/when the game was/is not on GP. Just because that feels counterintuitive to you doesn't mean that you're right.

Third, MS has stated multiple times that GP is actually very profitable. Just because you don't think it is, or it doesn't seem like it would be, doesn't mean that it isn't.

Just to be clear, I own and play all of the major consoles and love them all.

Re: PS3 Owners Facing Wide-Spread Problems Downloading Games Ahead of PS Store Closure

This is bad news. I'm really disappointed with how Sony is handling this situation. I believe I have what I want from the stores at this point, but just in case I change my mind some day in the future, I'm aware of "other means" that would allow me play these games, even on original hardware. If it really and truly matters to you, look into it. These games will never actually be gone forever, they'll just take a bit more effort to access.

People talking about PC... Comparing PC to consoles is a bit like comparing a bicycle to a motorcycle - both can get you where you want to go, but obviously one of them is a lot faster, and a lot more expensive and complex because of it. No one is surprised or impressed you sped past a bicycle in a race with your motorcycle.

I choose frames over resolution every time, and consider myself a bit of a fame snob because of it. That being said, 30 will never be unplayable in my mind as I've enjoyed many, many 30 fps games over the years - even those with pretty bad performance - but 60 is gold. Recently though, playing games like Ori atWotW, Rocket League, and Sea of Thieves at 120 on XBSX has been a real treat.

Re: Soapbox: Why Do You Replay Games?

Once I beat a game, I'm done with it (99% of the time). There are too many great games out there, and my backlog is too big to waste time playing a game over again. Variety is the spice of life. Live in the now.

Started Amnesia: AMFP a couple days ago, and will likely finish that up. It's not great but it's so short I might as well see it through. I know people love Amnesia, especially the first one, but I haven't really liked either one. I didn't like Justine either. I think a remake with better lighting, textures, and HDR implementation would go a long way to improve the experience, but I don't know, maybe it's just not for me. I don't really enjoy the gameplay anyway. I didn't really like Soma either.

On a more positive note, I finally started The Swapper last night (after getting tired of paying Amnesia), and so far it's been really interesting - I'm only 30 minutes or so in, but I'm excited to progress and see where the game goes, both mechanically and story-wise.
