Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Losing Ground to Xbox?

iamtylerdurden1

In PR? Yes. In real life? No.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 continue to dominate XB1 and Series in sales, revenue, demand, games, and innovation. The media is clearly losing credibility, it's been an embarrassing spiral for years. Gaming journalists are becoming an industry joke, but for now, the casual masses can still be influenced. However, real life still outweighs the idiocy and propaganda supported by our fumbling heroes on sites such as these. That Oddworld review. Wow. Outriders nearly doubled the score of Oddworld. Incredible. The utter ineptitude of the industry's dancing Jesters is wild. Either that, or it's money/influence.

But reviews are merely the tip. It's nonsense like this poll/article and the constant Spencer/Gamepass/Bethesda fluff pieces circulating the media while Sony continues to get pummeled as if they were the company getting waxed by the competition, manipulating the public, and providing no games.

It's truly unreal. I am in awe of Microsoft's ability to herd the cattle on a mass scale. I csn understand how they monopolized with Windows and how they became one of the richest and most powerful juggernauts in the world. It's scary. Ppl are weak animals and those guys are capitalizing. It's a beautifully evil. Giving ppl dogs*** and making them believe it's caviar. Getting dominated by the competition and lying for years, launching a historically inept games lineup, and having nothing concrete lined up for the rest of the year yet the media is promoting u as if u pay their rent. It's wild. Then the fans eat it up. A cycle of hype begetting hype. Insane and disgusting. The industry is a pit.

Re: PS5 Has Been UK's Best-Selling Console Two Months in a Row

iamtylerdurden1

@Arugula no it isn't.

PlayStation has outsold Xbox this gen, has greater demand, and they more than doubled Xbox in 2021 revenue according to the latest report. That's pretty easy to understand.

This narrative that every XB Series console is sold out across the world is false. In most of North America and much of the UK, sure, but not elsewhere. There are numerous reports of consoles, particularly Series S on shelves outside those two regions. Numerous friends of mine in countries like Brazil claim that local stores have Series X and S on shelves. Also, marketing and research firms have been reporting since prior to launch that demand was much higher for PS5, much. In fact, though both are difficult to find in NA/UK the stats regarding percentages of ppl who wanted/fulfilled acquiring a PS5 and the difficulty finding one all point towards PS5 being the hotter ticket. The metrics lean towards PS5, the sales, etc. You can continue excusing the numbers and metrics but eventually the numbers will speak for themselves. It happened last gen when Microsoft and Microsoft apologists pointed to the "XB1 is outpacing 360" quote manufactured by Microsoft execs to insinuate success. The result, 360 sold 85+ million units and XB1 is estimated at 50m even. With most of production ceased and phased out in favor of Series S, XB1 might not sniff 55m. That would be more than 30m units difference, yet Microsoft and fans would use that outpacing nonsense as their excuse.

Re: PS5 Has Been UK's Best-Selling Console Two Months in a Row

iamtylerdurden1

Obviously, PS5 is dominating sales and demand worldwide. SX was completely exaggerated in terms of performance and PS5 wasn't given enough credit. The proof is coming out. Plus, games. Services are great, and old games are fantastic, but most ppl buy into a new generation for new, next gen experiences they can't have anywhere else. That and innovation, and Sony is leading in both.

If both XB Series and PS5 had unlimited units the lead for PS5 would be double. Despite the absolute PR barrage by team Xbox, PlayStation continues to deliver irl. That still, atm, outweighs manipulation and propaganda. Actual results. I'm sure this will change, but right now ppl still prefer experiencing good stuff over reading about it, slightly. Plus, u sort of build up credibility when u deliver and dramatically outperform your competition for a decade straight. PlayStation served the public beautifully last gen. The amount of award winners and quality new IP were staggering compared to the competition. Five of the past eight consensus Game of the Year winners were Sony published. Zero were via Microsoft. New IP like HZD, Bloodborne, Tsushima, Spiderman, and Dreams flooded the system. They are still the only one of the big three to legitimately suppport VR and now DualSense and that impressive SSD. Sony has done nothing but deliver for a decade, they have the innovation, games, and performance without having to boast. They deserve to be leading next gen in sales and demand. They've earned it.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS5 Remake of The Last of Us?

iamtylerdurden1

Of course i would.

And why would the remake release this year? It hasn't even been confirmed, acknowledged, or announced and these are Covid times where games are getting pushed back. It's silly to assume a purely speculative, unannounced game from one of the industry's bigger IP will release this year, just so u can support your argument.

Likely, the speculated game will release in 2022, which would make it nine years between original and Remake. Nearly a decade and multiple generations/several console iterations later. From PS3 to PS4 to Pro to PS5.

Let's be real, the remaster was released a year later strictly because TLOU launched at the tail end of the generation. It acted as a next gen update and has little impact on this remake. The two are completely different entities.

I'm not really sure why nine years would be such an unacceptable time table between original and remake? Shadow of the Colossus had a similar situation, though a longer time between original/remake but a shorter time between remaster and remake. Some moaned when Colossus Remake was announced, but in the end it was among the greatest remakes ever and I'm not sure many ppl still believe it was a mistake. Why would you? It was spectacular and it allowed the classic to reach a new audience. The same will be likely for TLOU Remake as Naughty Dog is apparently handling primary development. So it should be quality through and through. And with the HBO show around the corner I don't see why it wouldn't be enjoyable to relive the origins of the series with cutting edge, next gen tech. Naughty Dog said TLOU Remastered was pivotal in rewiring their engine and learning the PS4 system. It was a huge success. Why can't the remake be similar?

Re: Sony's London Studio Hiring for Brand New, Next-Gen IP for PS5

iamtylerdurden1

@lacerz We're almost six months into the generation and the anticipated games lineup couldn't be more impressive over the first couple years. The launch lineup was excellent and games like Returnal, Ratchet, Horizon, Kena, Deathloop, and Ghostwire are still scheduled for this year. Next year has killers like God of War, Gran Turismo, Project Athia, and FFXVI expected.

PSVR2 was announced. Sony has reaffirmed their commitment to VR and given us a soft window of when to expect next gen's iteration while continuing to support the platform with releases such as Hitman 3, Doom 3, After the Fall, and more.

Sony continues to support PS+ with phenomenal content as their primary service. At the same time they are growing PSNow and providing value with that service. Services are certainly part of PlayStation's ecosystem, but they aren't the entirety of it. Sony has made it very clear that they will continue to grow their services but unlike Xbox it will not takeover as their primary business model overnight. They are continuing to support industry leading exclusives with clean releases while providing secondary services. VR is very much in their future as well, obviously. They laid out most of the games to expect from 2020-2022 before PS5 even launched. How much more transparent can they be?

Just because some rumored dirty laundry gets aired doesn't take away from the results which they have delivered. And oh by the way, the PS5 was said to be underpowered and a shell of the performance potential as Series X. If anything, PS5 might be outperforming SX, and certainly outperforming expectations. DUALSENSE has also proven the doubters wrong and been an enormous success. PS5 is dominating in sales and demand while providing new games and innovation. I'm not sure why ppl care so much about the nonsense PR when the actual product irl is exceptional. Yes, the JP Studios situation was unfortunate and I did want a Days Gone sequel, but that's the nature of the business. It doesn't dismantle everything good. And the good far outweighs the bad.

Re: Sony's London Studio Hiring for Brand New, Next-Gen IP for PS5

iamtylerdurden1

@lacerz Yet PlayStation has continued to cultivate creativity and industry leading new IP irl.

U can get all excited about rumors and insider reports, but in reality, PlayStation is the one delivering innovation and great new IP. Have they not proven that this last generation? Every company makes tough decisions and games we want get cancelled or never receive sequels. In fact, I blame the idiots in the media and the moron trolls as much, if not more, than I do Sony for Days Gone 2 not being greenlit. Days Gone is not deserving of a 70 Meta, it was not a buggy mess, and it wasn't garbage as most XB fans insist. The game deserved high 70s at least. Probably around 78-80, which would've absolutely altered the perception and boosted sales/word of mouth, making a sequel more feasible. Blame the culture of the industry.

And I love these Sony remakes and remasters. Demon's Souls, Shadow/Colossus, Medievil, Wipeout, Uncharted Collection, etc. They're great, they aren't resource heavy to develop, and open these IP to new audiences. I'll enjoy Last of Us Remake, it's been eight years since the original and it'll pair well with the HBO series.

And touching on Sony and new IP/creativity. Last gen we saw Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman, Bloodborne, Dreams, Concrete Genie, VR, Death Stranding, Detroit, Days Gone, RESOGUN, Helldivers, and more. So far this gen we have Sackboy, Destruction All-Stars, and Returnal as far as new IP, already. How is Xbox doing in that category? What were their best new IP last gen?

Ppl need to stop with the PR and rumors and look around. PlayStation is bombarding us with great new games and new IP. They are the only console provider legitimately supporting VR as well. Dreams, Tsushima, and Concrete Genie all launched at the tail end of the generation. These are interesting and quality new IP. PSVR2 was already announced. Don't be blinded by the propaganda, look around at real life. Look at results.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 371

iamtylerdurden1

Oddworld...and it's GREAT. A truly wonderful Oddworld game with incredible cutscene quality, a surprisingly deep narrative, modern touches that work, and deeper gameplay. I have experienced ZERO bugs and the games runs well on PS5 at 60. Decent DualSense implementation and superb audio design accompany this fantastic Oddworld game.

In my humble opinion, Oddworld Inhabitants and big Lorne Lanning built a superior game to 2014's New N Tasty, largely developed by Just Add Water. It's a fabulous remake of Abe's Exodus that encapsulates all of the original spirit while improving everything. The 4/10 via PSquare is a travesty.

Re: Is RPG Octopath Traveler Coming to PS5, PS4?

iamtylerdurden1

Microsoft basically paid to keep it off PlayStation for a few months in hopes of adding new fans to Gamepass. I guarantee it's a similar deal to Yakuza Like a Dragon.

Funny thing, nobody will give a f*** about it on XB. The fanboys will cheer and brag just like they did for Yakuza, but the percentage of ppl on GP who play or finish the game will be low, just like Yakuza. The usual jokers will tell u these are huge wins and that these games are great, but they never cared before, and they won't ever truly care. XB fanboys downplayed Nier, Hellblade, and Yakuza until they came to XB....and then they simply pretended to care.

SE, just like Sega, took the money and snubbed real JRPG fans. Boo. Bad play.

Re: Mortal Shell, Hunting Simulator 2 Prepped for PS5 Release

iamtylerdurden1

@Eadgar I think it's a terrible point of entry. The devs are enormously talented but on ps4 it's rough. The game is not what I'd call a polished and thoroughly built Soulslike. It lacks many of the features, explanations, and design qualities of the truly great Soulslikes. It would be a bad place to start imo. It's not like it's that easy either. Personally, I'd suggest Demon's Souls PS5 as a starting point. Perhaps a Lord's of the Fallen if we want a slightly easier experience that mimics the big games and is reasonably polished. Games like Nioh, Bloodborne, Demon's Souls are in another league. I wouldn't suggest starting with a complete budget Soulslike that lacks some basic QoL aspects. I appreciate Mortal She'll, but it's a rough one to start on. It's obtuse and combat is extremely rough.

Re: Mortal Shell, Hunting Simulator 2 Prepped for PS5 Release

iamtylerdurden1

@Dezzy70 I personally want free next gen upgrades of games I own or would like to own. It's not at all a bad trend as I'd love to fully utilize my PS5. Plenty of new games on that system. This honestly should've happened at launch, these upgrades should've been there day one. It hurts no one. The time and resources to upgrade a game for PS5 is miniscule. This feels like a weak azz version of the Remaster whiners. Salty because u don't have a PS5 I'd assume?

Re: Next-Gen The Sinking City Launches on 19th February for PS5

iamtylerdurden1

@LordSteev Bloodborne my man. It's definitely Lovecraftian even if it's not as related as this. Old Hunters DLC has a full on Fish man town.

Yes, it's the worst third person combat I have ever played. Worse than Elex. It's abysmal. But the atmosphere is fantastic and the story is interesting. Detective mechanics are tremendous. It's Euro jank though, budget. Know what u are getting into.

Re: Godfall (PS5) - Good Combat Means It's Not Godawful

iamtylerdurden1

@NEStalgia

I agree with Knack. It's a joke that Knack has a similar Metacritic to a mess like Spacehulk Deathwing. Knack 2 is a legitimately good game, but even Knack was decent at launch. It had a real story and though the combat was simple, it was right and enjoyable when played on hard. Visuals were solid as well. It was perhaps a 7/10 type game.

Knack 2 was another story. That game is solid all around. Good visuals, improved combat, great co op. It's easily an 8/10. I'll never understand the hatred for Knack. Nice graphics and fx, a legitimate story, solid combat and platforming, no bugs, runs well. It also has a great loot system boosted by friends. It's not a structurally flawed game like perhaps a Godfall. It does everything adequately. It just doesn't revolutionize anything. Knack 2 is a good game. If u are skeptical rent it, give it a few hours and see.

Re: Godfall (PS5) - Good Combat Means It's Not Godawful

iamtylerdurden1

@JoshuaTChandler

I disagree wholeheartedly.

Imo Godfall's combat system is far crunchier and more enjoyable than Avengers. Avengers combat felt like paper, no impact and the auto targeting system was overly aggressive. U just hit buttons and it takes u to enemy after enemy. Ms Marvel was fun and Iron Man at times, but Hulk for example was mindless tedium. For me, Avengers was terrible. It has story, but it's so cheesy I wanted to skip cutscenes. Levels are linear af and loot doesn't even show on character. Godfall has much better loot.

Godfall also ran beautifully. Smooth with the best visuals I have ever seen. No bugs for me. The only slight criticism for Godfall combat was a bit of input lag, but it could be intentional to give combat weight.

I might jump back in Avengers when Spidey joins, but for now I have no interest. Godfall isn't perfect but it fulfilled a need for me. True next gen visuals and spectacular combat, deep loot, and fun co op with strong DualSense and Tempest implementation. If it wasn't a launch game I would've waited, but I've put 40 hours in and other than Astro I've played little else since launch. I enjoy it.

Re: Godfall (PS5) - Good Combat Means It's Not Godawful

iamtylerdurden1

@get2sammyb

I have issues with this review.

"Godfall is a game that is desperately trying to show you it's running on a PS5"

"Combat is the only good feature"

The only mention of visuals or graphics were to smugly belittle the game. Are u joking? GODFALL IS THE BEST LOOKING GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED. It is truly next gen looking running at a smooth 60. Combat and visuals are both spectacular, that is absolute fact.

Why make fun of the incredible particle fx and stunning textures? It's a visual spectacle that does scream next gen. What other games scream next gen? Demon's souls, that's it.

When I booted Godfall and turned performance mode on it looked different from anything I had ever played. It's a visual masterclass. If u want a game to show off that truly looks next gen, Godfall is it.

If u want something to push your PS5 and u want crunchy combat and deep loot, it's Godfall. The game is shallow in terms of mission structure and story, but I personally enjoyed the lore. There is a story with cutscenes, it's just sparse. The game has excellent co op and u can invite a friend or two to play through the entire game.

The mission structure isn't as monotonous as he makes it seem. It's not great, but activities like hunts and challenges add to it. Hunts are very fun. U scour the map for a powerful beast to take out. They are essentially extra boss fights.

Bosses and mini bosses are extremely enjoyable. The highlight imo. I personally love the game as I knew what it was going in. I wanted great combat, deep loot, fun co op, and next gen visuals and that's what I got. DualSense implementation is excellent, it makes combat crunchy and satisfying. Another omission by Liam is the Tempest audio. Godfall has the best 3D audio I have heard on PS5 via the Pulse 3D headset. If u have the headset, it's a pleasure. DualSense and Tempest audio elevate the game.

I'm not saying Godfall is perfect, but it's a visual showcase for PS5 and it implements DualSense capabilities and 3D audio well. Combined with a great combat system, deep loot, and fun co op I can forgive narrative and structural shortcomings to an extent. A 5 is laughable imo. This is FAR better than a game like Spacehulk Deathwing and more akin to Borderlands 1 or a smaller production of Destiny. It's Darksiders skin meets Diablo loot. I personally give it a 7.5/10 at worst.

Re: PS5 Doesn't Have a Web Browser

iamtylerdurden1

@Jrose1985
Luckily what the PS5 does have is great games day one and a truly next gen experience in terms of actual gaming.

I used the PS4 browser, so I'm bummed, but I'd rather have a console with real innovation and great launch/year one games than a console that feels like a simple pc upgrade with no new, meaningful games or innovative changes (Series X).

The PS5 has received better reviews than the SX for a reason....it is an innovative gaming system with new games. I'll take that over a browser and day one expandable storage. These things will come over time

Re: Spider-Man Creative Director Calls for Respect as PS5 Remaster Criticism Crosses the Line

iamtylerdurden1

@Fath

It hurts nobody. Spiderman PS4 will have minor enhancements on PS5 due to boost mode, however, it's nothing like a full remaster.

Two years is too soon for a remaster? Huh? The Last of Us remastered came out a year after the PS3 version and was a big success. Btw, TLOUR was a full priced game while Spiderman Remastered is merely $20.

The problem here is that gullible ppl took the bait from by those attempting to smear Sony. Warhammer Chaosbane is coming out on SX as a $60 remaster Nov 10th yet nobody is attacking the Xbox lineup or Games workshop for that. I'm sure those who own the PS4 copy will see native improvements while playing on SX but the remaster will likely be vastly superior. $60 is a bit steep imo but u get the point. These games won't natively be remastered just by putting them on SX or PS5. Even a next gen patch isn't the same.

Insomniac is a reputable developer who never screws the public. I trust them. If u own Spidey PS4 and are purchasing a PS5 u can enjoy some native improvements for free. However, if u want a remastered experience with new assets and trophies u can buy the remaster for $20 assuming u are purchasing Miles Morales.

Spiderman Remastered is worth it for the dlc alone, but u are free to ignore it if u please.

Re: PS5 Game Returnal Looks Amazing in New Screenshot, Plus More Details

iamtylerdurden1

@Daleaf
That's the problem, for some strange reason ppl STILL aren't willing to support Housemarque day one. The "I'll pick it up some time, or wait for reviews" is absurd. Other than SuperGiant what indie dev has earned more respect than them? Every game is good. Super Stardust, Resogun, and Next Machina are three of the best twin sticks ever. Personally, Alienation was one of my favorite co op games of all time. Imo they have never made a mediocre game. Dead Nation and Matterfall were still tremendous. Matterfall was low on content but the gameplay was sublime. Incredible effects as well.

Housemarque is day one as always. Alienation, Matterfall, and Next Machina were all pre-order and day one purchases and Returnal is no different. This is why they had to try something different because ppl don't buy their games. Sad.

Re: Spider-Man Creative Director Calls for Respect as PS5 Remaster Criticism Crosses the Line

iamtylerdurden1

@Deljo obviously you didn't read the article because it's about changing actors.

Now, to address your inane criticism. Here's a list of what's changed in the $20 Spiderman Remaster that includes all DLC.

Spiderman Remaster

New assets
New character model
New hair/teeth/skin
Ray Tracing
New Spiderman suits
1:1 reflections
60fps
Ambient shadows
More NPCs
More vehicles
Better draw distance
All DLC
New facial animations
Native 4K
Instant loads
Haptic feedback
New photo mode
3D audio implementation

Not sure what else Insomniac could do, plus, it was a beautiful game just two years ago, it's not like we are comparing a remake of a decade old game like Demon's Souls. Furthermore, most of this will be hard to appreciate in a compressed 720-1080p video on Twitter. Natively I'm sure that Spiderman Remastered will look incredible on PS5. It's essentially getting the Spiderman 2 treatment. A glimpse of the sequel.

Re: Upcoming PS5 and PS4 Games and Accessories for October and November 2020

iamtylerdurden1

@STLamy

I disagree.

I personally loved my Pulse Elites on PS3 and my Platinums with 3D audio on PS4 truly made a difference. A marriage of the two is beautiful imo. The 3D audio on PS5 will even work to a degree on your TV speakers, but I'd have to imagine a set made by Sony to take advantage of it would yield better results.

I'm so happy the pulse technology is back also. The Pulse Elites and 3D audio Platinums were each $150 or more. Under $100 is a steal imo. I have them on pre-order and I'm excited.

Re: More PS5 Photos Emerge from Japanese Previews

iamtylerdurden1

@deSade57

The funny thing is, fans boast about the 15% power advantage that SX has over PS5 yet 1X had a 30% percent advantage with more ram. PS5 has 15% less power but faster overall RAM and an SSD twice as fast and 3x as smart. If they want to dive into the tech, I prefer what the PS5 is packing. Ppl act like PS5 only has the games, but I disagree. Isn't the input device (controller) part of the tech? I'm as hyped about the innovations in the Dual Sense as any spec or number.

The SSD has already shown how it will influence game design. The 3D audio supported by Tempest is very exciting. These are tech related elements. Input, game design, audio. This impacts immersion and gameplay, not just a few more pixels.

Then take into account how PS5 isn't necessarily held back by current gen or a weak iteration of itself. These are huge factors. Rumored DLSS support for PS5 is promising as well.

If SX and PS5 had the same games, no exclusives, and both systems were the same price I'd STILL choose PS5 because I prefer the immersive and dynamic tech innovations like Dual Sense, God tier SSD, and 3D audio/Tempest over a 15% GPU advantage. It absolutely is not a forgone conclusion that Xbox now has the better tech, not by a long shot. Just wait until these systems launch.

Re: More PS5 Photos Emerge from Japanese Previews

iamtylerdurden1

@TheFrenchiestFry

U are implying that SX is doing well in Japan, or it appears that way. We all know that Xbox is non existent in Japan and any headlines "SX sells out in Japan" is likely a load of PR because I'm sure the amount of units available to pre-order in JP was miniscule. Microsoft lives off this type of PR and sly wordplay to influence the public. Be real, how many units has Microsoft ever sold in that region? VGchartz used to list monthly sales in the single digits (VG is not reliable..I know). U bit and that's what Microsoft was counting on. Spreading a false narrative can sometimes lead to a false perception and that can be a huge boost to a company like Microsoft.

That is why u were attacked by the other bloke. While it might be true, it's completely irrelevant because I could sell out my own Tyler Durden Deluxe Master Machine console made in my basement by selling my entire stock (1 unit) to my fiance. Then headlines about the Tyler Durden gaming console selling out in the USA would seem a bit silly, but technically true.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Looks Insane at 60 Frames-Per-Second

iamtylerdurden1

I'm more excited for Legends regardless of specs.

Tsushima was incredible and I'm sure it'll see a bump in res/fps on PS5 but I'm focused on actual new games come November. I'll drive into the backlog after I max Demon's Souls, Miles Morales, Sackboy, Godfall, and perhaps The Pathless. If PS5 exclusive Destruction All-Stars receives terrific scores I'll possibly buy that as well. Gods & Monsters releases Dec 3rd and Returnal will likely be a February launch. Then the rest of 21 is packed on PS5. PS4 will take a back seat unless they add new experiences like Legends in Tsushima or Factions in TLOU2.

Fortunately on PS5 we don't need to live on cross gen multiplats over the next two years. For all the trolls claiming that Jim Ryan lied about believing in generations because some games are cross gen...3 AAA exclusives at launch are completely next gen as well as a fourth, smaller game (Astro). Godfall, Demon's Souls, and Destruction All-Stars are all next gen exclusive. Xbox doesn't even has any cross gen AAA exclusives at launch let alone next gen exclusives.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Looks Insane at 60 Frames-Per-Second

iamtylerdurden1

@Arugula

Ppl don't understand that it's not just frame rate. Motion blur technique, animations, and frame consistency play a huge role. Spiderman at 30fps still looks stunning in motion bc of brilliant motion blur, A1 animation work, and no drops. TLOU 2 also looks incredible at a locked 30. Now, take almost any Bethesda game and u can see the difference even though technically those games are supposed to be 30.

Sony has mostly been locked in 30 this gen, but with incredible tech surrounding it the experience is still smooth. I think ppl need to get off this d*ck measuring specs bullsh*t and evaluate what's on screen.

I'd rather and incredible looking game like Demon's Souls on PS5 run at 1440/60 and 2160/30 with stunning visuals and ray tracing than Crackdown 3 on SX at 4K and 120fps. Not that Crackdown will hit that on SX, but just an example.

Demon's Souls could've toned down the visuals and taken out ray tracing and easily ran at 2160/60 simultaneously but it would look worse. Numbers aren't as important as ppl think, just look at how PlayStation exclusives on PS4 Pro blow away exclusives on XB1X.

I'd much prefer that next tech like 10.28tf and a wicked fast SSD get used for gameplay innovation and enhanced quality as opposed to "8K 120FPS!!!!" Nonsense. A low quality indie called Falconer will run at 8K on SX and Microsoft is bragging about some games hitting 120fps but who cares if a game with PS3 visuals can hit 8k and what percentage of ppl use their consoles with a 120hz Television? It's silly. Enhance the game, improve the quality, don't just crank the dials and give ppl, ugly, old gen game design with higher resolution. An ugly game is still ugly in 8K. A bad game is still bad at 120fps.

I love that BP pushed the visual quality, improved the animations, added RT, and new content to Demon's Souls. I'd rather a next gen game at 1440 60 than a cross gen game at 2160 60.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for October 2020?

iamtylerdurden1

Excellent lineup. Vampyr is a fantastic game with technical shortcomings and NFS is AAA popcorn gaming. I own Vampyr, but at least ppl can see how enjoyable it is.

When did Push Square take the 💰? They are very negative these days. Games with gold received Slayaway Camp and a horror game nobody heard of and they complain about two big name games on Plus?

Re: More PS5 Photos Emerge from Japanese Previews

iamtylerdurden1

The PS5 is beautiful.

But who tf cares really, it's about the games. Demon's Souls Remake can not be played anywhere else. Day one for me. Playstation is yet again delivering. Awesome launch lineup, innovative controller, an SSD that so fast it will alter design choice, VR, and ofc the Tempest engine to match the sexy 3D Pulse headset.

Re: More PS5 Photos Emerge from Japanese Previews

iamtylerdurden1

@deSade57 the power advantage that SX has over PS5 is merely half that of XB1X vs Pro.

1X also has more ram than Pro, whereas, PS5 and SX have the same ram with PS5 actually having a slight advantage in average RAM speed.

In other words, the difference in multiplat games will be insignificant between SX and PS5. I do expect PS5 to have better looking exclusives, obviously.

Re: Demon's Souls PS5 Details Digital Deluxe Edition

iamtylerdurden1

@nessisonett

I think it's awesome that BP actually added content to the game. Red Eye Knight's armor? The weapon those gold skeletons use? The Reaper's weapon? That is exciting to me, but then again, I'm a huge DeS fan.

It's shocking to see just how much ppl have taken the bait. Bravo Microsoft. Bravo. Nothing Sony does garners positivity atm and PS5 actually has a launch lineup.

Watch BP fixed the broken Archstone and included a sixth world and ppl still complain about Sony changing the game too much..

I don't get it? Dark Souls included pre-order bonuses like new weapons (reskin) and items in the past. This attitude, DeS is sacred how dare Sony include a pre-order bonus or new items is absurd.

I'm no media pawn. I react according to how I feel with little outside influence and I love DeS, but I think it's a fantastic sign that BP actually added to the game. DeS looks phenomenal. I'm in the US, so $69 or $89 for the Deluxe is fine. Next gen exclusives getting bumped up $10 isn't the best, but I understand we are due. In fact, blame MTX and egregious cut content DLC on the fact that games haven't risen in price for decades. Publishers had to look for revenue in other ways. I have no issue paying $70 for a full next gen AAA.

Re: Rapper Travis Scott Has a PS5

iamtylerdurden1

@TooBarFoo

Not me. I love how Sony designed the PS5 with innovation in mind and I LOVE that we have a launch lineup.

I'd rather have innovation with input, audio, and game design as well as fantastic launch exclusives than...Gamepass to play old games.

The Dual Sense, Tempest engine, and SSD will revolutionize play.

Demon's Souls, Godfall, Destruction All-Stars, and Astro can not be played on PS4/XB1.

Miles Morales and Sackboy are big cross gen exclusives day one.

VR will be enhanced dramatically by PS5.

I'm all in on PS5 and I love the way things are shaping up. I'm not another sheep who believes in garbage propaganda. I can see that Spiderman is a true remaster. I realize that the Bethesda deal won't make Elder Scrolls and Fallout exclusive. I'm not into services. I like physical media. I love new games. I'm beyond hyped for PS5 and happy with my two disk based pre-orders. The wife and I are there day one.

@710King

Look at the first shot, u don't see detail like that in cutscenes this gen.

U are a joker. Yeah, looks like early XB1 quality GTFO. Clown.

Demon's Souls on PS5 is stunning. Imagine how it'll look in 4K with ray tracing/HDR in detail mode on our TVs?

Sony is doin work. An actual launch lineup with next gen exclusives. I feel bad for Xbox fans, I can play XB1 games on Gamepass though.

Demon's Souls, Miles Morales, Godfall, Sackboy, Destruction All-Stars, Astro. A real launch lineup.

@BlueOcean

Play Spiderman PS4 on PS5 if u already have all the DLC and aren't interested in new suits/trophies. It'll likely receive an upgrade anyway. Probably not a full remaster to the extent of the Ultimate edition, but more in line with an upgrade patch (res/fps/rt) that we see from other studios.

Sony giving free upgrades to PS5 versions of games as well. Miles Morales, Sackboy, Horizon FW, and likely a slew of PS4 exclusives will receive free patches. Even Spiderman should get a patch, but i'm not sure it'll receive the full extent of upgrades that the Remaster will.

According to the VERY credible developer Insomniac Games Spiderman Remastered is more than a simple resolution/fps next gen patch. It's a full remaster that required significantly more work than a typical upgrade patch. It has..

new character models
new skin, hair, eyes
new facial animations
lighting improvements
ambient shadows
ray traced reflections
more pedestrians
more cars
new suits
a new platinum
an updated Peter Parker
ofc native 4K and 60fps
improved draw distances
all DLC
improved textures & assets
near instant loads
Dual Sense haptic feedback
3D audio
New photo mode features

It's a remaster, not a simple resolution patch. Also, the game is over 2 years old, a game like Gears 5 is merely a year old with an active multiplayer portion that Microsoft wants to boost. Plus, Series X launches with ZERO major exclusives let alone first party games so it makes sense that they would push their most recent AAA game for Series X. Spiderman is a 2 year old single player game that has likely exhausted its sales. Different animals. Microsoft has to push Gears 5, it has nothing new for SX and Gears 5 is still an active mp game. They want to sell those Gears 5 microtransactions anyway. A service based mtx game SHOULD see regular updates.

@Sekys "Control is getting grfx upgrades for $30"

And Spiderman Remastered will cost only $20. Miles Morales is $50, so u pay an extra 20 to get Spiderman Remastered. If u already have Spiderman PS4 it'll probably receive a free upgrade anyway, but not necessarily improved skin, hair, eyes, models, lighting, new suits, new trophies, more npcs/vehicles ect like the REMASTER. It'll probably receive a resolution upgrade, 60 fps mode, and rt reflections.

Miles Morales Ultimate Edition is more so for ppl who haven't played Spiderman PS4. $20 is cheaper than the GotY Edition on PS4. Heck, Spiderman Remastered comes with all DLC which might be worth it alone. U get the $25 story DLC with it. U think CDPR is giving the 2 Witcher story DLCs with the upgrade if u only own the base version of TW3? No. There are a wealth of options. Miles Morales PS4/PS5 for 50, Spiderman PS4 with regular upgrades on PS5, or Miles Morales Ultimate with Spiderman Remastered for 70 total. Nobody is forcing anything, if u want a true remaster with new suits and trophies get the Ultimate edition for $20 more, if not, just buy Miles Morales for $50. Ffs.

@HotGoomba Spiderman on PS5 is a full fledged remaster with new character models, lighting, trophies, and even suits. It's not just a 4K patch, it should require payment.

Plenty of Sony games will have free upgrades such as Horizon FW, Sackboy, and likely all the first party PS4 games. Even Spiderman will probably see some upgrade, but this is a remaster, it's different. Even has a new trophy set.
