Re: Kojima Productions Not Being Bought by Sony, Says Hideo Kojima

louieverr

Remember when Bluepoint Games explicitly said they are an "independent" studio after rumors went strong of being bought by Sony but still insisted they aren't? Yet here we are, I have no doubts Kojima Productions is in the same position but still can't announce it yet due to contracts and whatnot. I bet it was the same mistake when there was a leaked image when Bluepoint was included in the Playstation Studios list.

Re: With the Steam Deck Announced, This Is What a Next-Gen PSP Could Be

louieverr

My idea of having a new Playstation Handheld will be, it's going to be an all-digital device which plays the same games in both PS4/PS5 with at least a 1280x720p resolution with 60fps capabilities in OLED Display. With this in mind if it plays both PS4/PS5 it's not going to be a Vita all over again since the amount of supported games will be enourmous.

Re: Reaction: Xbox Game Pass Is the Thorn in PS5's Side

louieverr

Biggest deal breaker for me: if I have to spend a whole 6 months worth of Game Pass or a mere single $70 game from PS but ofc it always depends on games but my point is it doesn't going to hurt me if I try out some games I didn't want to spend in the first place but since it's on Game Pass already why not just try it? I could still get a discount if I wanted to own it. I could spend an entire 6 months of subs just to play all the Yakuza games or even Kingdom Hearts which I've always wanted to play with.

Re: Reaction: Spider-Man PS5 Debacle Shows Sony Is Out of Touch

louieverr

At this point I wouldn't even hope at least from PlayStation Studios that has free upgrades from PS4 to PS5 enhancements. It would be funny if they'll announce both The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima Remasters that we have to pay again. Sony has great games but has garbage messaging meanwhile Microsoft still has to prove their games but will pay off in the long run especially how Game Pass is even growing and its value. Oh I forgot to mention how Sony charges us to pay $70 for upcoming games.

Re: Reaction: PS5 Price Under Scrutiny After Disruptive Xbox Series S Reveal

louieverr

@JohnKarnes Xbox One X still has an anemic Jaguar CPUs and horrendous HDDs for next-gen, also the reason why it can't easily hit 60fps even if the GPU is capable because of the Jaguar CPU. Xbox Series S even if it has 4TF of GPU but is based on RDNA2 which will be equivalent of over 6TF of Xbox One X has which is an older architecture.

Re: Reaction: PS5 Price Under Scrutiny After Disruptive Xbox Series S Reveal

louieverr

@hulkie WTH are you talking about? Series S will be or more powerful than Xbox One X in every way. It has 8 cores / 16 threads Zen 2 CPU, 10GB GDDR6 RAM, 512GB of NVMe SSD and a 4TF of RDNA2 GPU thereotically equivalent of over 6TF of Xbox One X has. The CPU alone is a substantial leap over an anemic Jaguar CPUs of current gen has same applies to storage of NVMe SSD over HDDs, Xbox Series S is targeting for more casual audiences which buys a new console whichever has a cheaper version, but hardcore gamers and fans of Xbox will always favor the Series X.

Re: Sony Plasters Champions League with PS5 Promos

louieverr

@4kgk2 I would say we'll have a proper PS5 centric event this coming August 20th. I really hope we don't have to wait until September to know all the details such as price, launch date and launch titles from both Sony and Microsoft.

Re: PS5 Backwards Compatibility: Can You Play PS4 Games on PlayStation 5?

louieverr

I really hope Sony won't let us charge again with "remaster" treatment to benefit both 4K/60 at least especially from PlayStation Studio games. It's odd if we want to play Ghost of Tsushima in 4K/60 in PS5 without a "free upgrade" even if we have the PS4 version already. Microsoft is already doing this via Smart Delivery, best example of it is Gears 5 running in 4K/60 via free update without having to pay again to benefit those features.

Re: PS5 Preorder Price Is $699 on Play-Asia, Has Fans Praying It's a Placeholder

louieverr

Has to be lower than $499 and if it ends being a $599 or above this isn't going to sell very well. I remember when Jim Ryan previously stated that they want PS4 owners to transition over PS5 as much as possible and Mark Cerny said before the price of PS5 will be "appealing to masses" and I do think $500 above doesn't speak to any of those. Sony knows we are still dealing with this pandemic and shifting our economic into unpredictive and I do think they wanted to sell the PS5 and push the number initial sales as much as possible.

Re: Reaction: State of Play's Ghost of Tsushima Deep Dive Feels Like the Future of the Format

louieverr

Future State of Play livestreams might get two segments, the first one is an announcement or follow-ups to some games just like how Nintendo Direct works, the second might be a special State of Play which features an in-depth deep dive to a single game which explains its contents. A PS5 special State of Play could really work with type of format to show the box, explain the UI, user experience demo, etc.

Re: Geoff Keighley Hypes Up Incoming Next-Gen Game Reveals Following Xbox Criticism

louieverr

It's pretty hard to convince other people of what to expect about what's in next-gen, when it comes to graphics we've already somehow achieved it but with the help of a better CPU of both consoles AI is going to be improved a lot, more animations can be done, etc. Meanwhile in GPUs we can already expect next-gen titles to achieve 4K/60 or 1080/120 for some games or competitive most likely but still depends on the vision of each developers. Raytracing will be the most common feature will be implemented on some games for better lighting, reflections and global illumination. Also, the loading times are going to be the most convincing and could even eliminate loading screens especially on PS5's SSD.

Re: Soapbox: Sony Needs to Share a PS5 Roadmap

louieverr

People think Sony still has big games to launch this year, well this isn't about the current gen it's what next-gen consoles can do. Microsoft has been so transparent on what to expect about Xbox Series X and its future and about to showcase their console with next-gen games running in this console, Sony on the other is stuck with their old formula to show the controller first and then the box itself which makes me think it isn't that exciting anymore of this year unlike how it was during 2013. So in my honest opinion, Sony needs to show or reveal something of this whole Month there's no point of keeping the box this late since everything has been changed since then.
