Re: Code Violet (PS5) - Gooner Shooter Can't Get It Up

@Leinad7 plenty of games have "dolls" and don't sell well. So facts suggest otherwise. Whether you personally felt like the game was empty is irrelevant. It has high scores with reviewers and gamers praising its gameplay.

"If that game was released with main protagonist looking normal or being a dude, it would not sell well and we all know it."

@themightyant same here. Apparently Concord was pretty decent, but people online acted like it was the worst game ever released. They seem to get some weird sense of satisfaction from seeing others fail. It's weird. Sad and weird.

It reminds me of some old, lonely people whose whole life revolves around having arguments with others to break the monotony of having to live with themselves.

Re: You'll Never Guess the Most Played PS5, PS4 Games of 2025 in the US

@Judal27 you don't. My niece and nephew are not interested in video games. I even gave them my ps4, but they don't use it. They played Knack II at my place and really liked it, but when they got the ps4, they never touched it again. They only play fortnite and Roblox on their phone, I think. Or even worse (imo), passively watch others play them.

Re: Now It's Battlefield 6's Turn to Face Accusations of Generative AI Usage

@RoomWithaMoose "Maybe these anti-AI, quick-to-rage, AI until proven innocent types are overdoing it. But at least that anger stems from a legitimate passion for artistry, worker rights, and/or environmental awareness."

That's why nuance is important. I'm 100% against the use AI to replace voice actors, for example.

All I'm saying is fight the big fights or you end up losing the war altogether.

@JB_Whiting nuance is important. When certain people "scream" over anything and everything, they achieve the exact opposite result. Even the ones who were with them at first end up being fed up and they just stop listening all together. I've seen it happen over and over again with almost every cause.

Plus, at the moment, even an accusation of use of AI (that may be 100% baseless) can ruin someone or an entire company.

Re: Japan's New Language Locked PS5 Hasn't Made a Massive Difference to the Format's Domestic Fortunes

@get2sammyb it's not about the games, but about perception. If it's viewed as a cool item to have, it will succeed. So it needs to grab the audience before it launches with several promotions, celebrity endorsements, etc. If Sony manage to improve their image in Japan, they stand a very good chance at winning back Japanese gamers. But it's definitely a Herculean task.
