Re: Talking Point: Would You Want a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation?

@DaniPooo I think it was like a million reasons, but that was definitely part of it. Another factor that most people forget is that handhelds weren't popular at the time. When psp came out, smartphones hadn't really taken off yet. So it offered a unique experience. When the vita came out, every other comment I read dismissed it as unnecessary. Even 3ds struggled and forced Nintendo to sell it at a loss before it took off. In Japan Nintendo got an exclusive Monster Hunter game the week that the vita launched. It was pronounced dead by media before it even made it to the west.

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite PS1 Games

I have some really fond memories, mostly thanks to

1. Tomba/Tombi
2. Cardinal Syn (I see no one ever talking about this)
and
3. Xena: Warrior Princess (a mediocre game, yet a dream come true)

Re: PS Portal Will Allow Cloud Streaming in New Beta Update

This is truly a game changer! My only issue with psportal is that it doesn't play anything natively (which we knew from the beginning). I just wish it could play even some simple games when one doesn't have access to the internet. Or read pdf files. It'd be perfect while traveling.

Re: Cash Rewards Still Unavailable for Millions in PS5, PS4 Rewards Scheme PS Stars

@Elodin absolutely. I just think that in video games, things are quite different.

We've seen that if gamers are dissatisfied with gaming, they won't just buy a different console. They may stop gaming altogether and opt for Netflix or something completely different. As opposed to essential things like mobile phones, operating systems for PCs/laptops, etc. There, monopolies can be a pretty big deal.

So, essentially, if you release a product that people are not interested it, they won't just buy it because they have no other option. Even if Nintendo and Sony were to cease to exist, MS wouldn't be able to sell anywhere near as much as Nintendo and Sony did.

Sony has every reason to keep customers satisfied, because even with no competition, there is no guarantee anyone will buy their products.
