Re: Sony Is Absolutely Flying Financially Right Now

@Fenbops it wasn’t until recently, that I’ve found it odd, how we celebrate these corporations making huge amounts of money. I get that it means more product, but it’s still weird. Especially when you look at the state of everything. Corporations being worshiped and treated as people has become very odd, to me.

Re: District 9, Chappie Director Helping to Make Multiplayer Shooter on PS5

I remember when Neil was the talk of the town! I love...love...LOVED, District 9! Wasn’t that into his other films. I did enjoy Elysium. I remember looking forward to seeing what he would do with Aliens. Didn’t work out. Along with other projects. I started losing interest in him. While I won’t be playing this game, I hope it’s a success.

Re: Days Gone Director on Skipped Sequel: 'If You Love a Game, Buy It at F***ing Full Price'

outsider83

I haven’t played Days Gone. Don’t know about it’s history. BUT... its refreshing to hear somebody speak what’s on their mind. I get tired of the “corporate” sounding replies to everything! I still wonder how companies are going to sustain, through services like Game Pass.

I had no idea David had his own show. I used to follow his blog, religiously, back when he was working on rebooting Twisted Metal.

Re: Reaction: What Next for PlayStation?

outsider83

@Salt_AU Interesting. I don’t have the game, but I was looking forward to playing it in the future. I hoped to have lots of creator content to play through, like when I started playing LittleBigPlanet (PS3&Vita). I spent HOURS playing through user created levels. I never finished the main campaign modes. What I saw of Dreams, prior to the release, had me very excited. Maybe it suffered from being released late in PS4’s lifespan. Will it get the remaster treatment?

Re: Sony Launches Strategic Partnerships to Support Black Communities

outsider83

These types of things don’t excite me in any way. Maybe I’m a cynic but, it’s all optics IMO. 🤷🏾‍♂️ These corporations want to talk about supporting black communities, we’ll take a more hands on approach. People in power don’t care about black people, unless their apart of the LGBTQ community.

Re: Poll: Did You Get a PS5?

outsider83

No. I’m waiting for a PS4 price drop. I bought an Xbox One for a bundle that really appealed to me. Rare Ware and the Halo collection pulled me in. It also came with Gear of War (remaster) and Ori and the Blind Forest, Outside of that, not too much. There’s a ridiculous amount of games I want to play on the PS4.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

outsider83

I’ve been puzzled by the excitement over both of the new systems. From what exactly is coming day one, to the fact that there are games that will also get releases on currently systems. I’m especially puzzled by the excitement of the new Xbox. When’s company is telling you I don’t care how you play, just play, wheres the excitement in that? From a standpoint of just watching how it plays out, it’s exciting. As a consumer, not so much. I’m fine with my Xbox One.

I wondered if there would be any display of ego going into the next gen. It’s a pattern I’ve noticed. Whichever company wins a generation, they make a series of mistakes going into the next gen, that reeks of ego. It usually comes back to bite them in the butt.

Re: SEGA Kicking Off Sonic's 30th Anniversary with Funko Pops and Energy Drinks

@RogerRoger Much respect to you and your opinion! 😊 I wish I was able to not compare mascots! Having played my fair share of mascot games throughout the 90’s, early 2000’s, I feel that it’s embedded in me! 😂 When I played Super Mario Odyssey, I was constantly blown away by the fact that I was playing the evolution of Mario, so tightly woven into modern day gameplay. And take the genre to new heights. I thought about Sonic while playing Odyssey. At this point, I’m not asking for every new Sonic game to reinvent the wheel. Just consistency and a healthy respect for the series past. In my eyes, it’s a bit of respect, while mainly focusing on some new gimmick that’s detrimental to the gameplay (most of the time).

Re: SEGA Kicking Off Sonic's 30th Anniversary with Funko Pops and Energy Drinks

@RogerRoger I’ll admit that my love for Mania is aided by nostalgia. I’ve also enjoyed some of 3D Sonic games. Heck, even the old kart and on foot racers. I understand that those games still sell well, but at what cost to the brand? Sonic could be so much more. It’s frustrating for a Sonic game to, in a sense, tease us gamers with a quality game like Generations. Which shows that they can still make a decent 3D and 2D Sonic. Then they give us Mania. I know about the titles (of good quality) released in between these two releases, but I feel like those were the strongest. Why not build on that? I’ve been watching Mario flourish since the 80’s, with the rare misstep (I’m look long at you, SUNSHINE! 😂) and to see highs and lows of Sonic, it’s sad and baffling. Again, I don’t get why they don’t build on what’s worked over the years. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Re: Madden NFL 21 Adds Quarterback Colin Kaepernick As Free Agent

outsider83

@Kidfried it very well could be a false rumor. The thing is, given how his taking a knee turned into this huge national mess, and the different ways this was used to stir up discord, I could easily see how nobody wanted to touch on that, in mainstream media. Now, what makes me think that there’s truth to what I’ve heard....his girl (wife?) Nessa, was dating Colin’s teammate the year before they got together. There are articles and pics of them together online. Colin also has problems with trying to steal other players women, and that’s why teams didn’t want him. He was too disruptive, ALLEGEDLY. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Edit: Colin and Nessa started dating in 2015. They went public in 2016. But there are articles about Nessa with Colin’s teammate from the same year.

Re: Madden NFL 21 Adds Quarterback Colin Kaepernick As Free Agent

I still wonder if it’s true that Colon knelling was in protest, not because of police brutality, at least initially, but actually it started over not getting a lot of play on the field. He had problems with a teammate over a women (Colin was in the wrong, allegedly!), so the coach had him sitting on the bench, as punishment, I’m guessing. That turned into this whole mess. I’ve only heard it from independent podcast. It’s never caught on in the media. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Re: PS5 Can Generate Haptic Feedback from Sound Effects

outsider83

It’s always interesting to me when I see companies play up these kinds of features before a systems release. They always make these things sound “fancy,” but these types of things never stick with me. Until reading this article, I forgot about the hoopla made over “HD rumble” was before the Switch came out! I just play! 😆

Re: Rumour: PS5 Will Have Shorter Supply Than PS4 at Launch, Delay Unlikely with High Price

outsider83

All of this talk about price. I don’t think it’ll be a big deal once the system drops. It’s not 2006. I don’t think a higher price launch price (than the PS4) will effect the sales of the PS5. Especially with all of this talk about graphics and features. I also don’t think Sony needs a big production in front of an audience in order to announce the rest of the PS5 info. It’s more exciting, but not necessary. The controller reveal, alone, trended #1 and had over 5 million views in a day. Not to mention the memes that were going around social media. More publicity. Well produced videos, clearly showing what the PS5 can do is enough in 2020. As far as the economy goes, people find money for what they want (look at the Switch and Ring Fit craze). Yes, those items aren’t as expensive as what the PS5 will be, but $300 or $500. It’s still a lot of money, especially given what’s going on. They won’t have problems selling systems, especially coming off the PS4 era.
