As big as it is, Apple still beats them all...with reported payout of 30 billion dollars to developers (Jun 2017 to Jun 2018), that equates to over 42 billion ( given Apples 30 percent cut from sales) in Apple Appstore sales...
E3 is not as important as it used to be. There are many avenues for a game company to engage its audience. And the cost probably doesn't justify it. Especially if they don't plan to unveil the PS5 during the show.
As this year's show had shown, if you didn't win the E3, then it's not good publicity but bad, if I am not wrong, Nintendo share price took a dip when it didn't show any new product of note during this year's E3. So the cost is probably not worth it.
They should have include the use of memory cards shaped like the original Playstation memory cards but use them to increase the number of games (like another 20 games for 30 dollars)...
so how is a game developer compensated by having their game as a ps+ freebie? are they paid a flat sum? pennies for the dollar for each copy doownloaded? a recurring income (since ps plus is one)? or essentially free for the publicity?
@HungryWolf not to mention, Epic needs to sign a standard contract to get their game on the platform. Sony's not going to change the contract, just for one game. They didn't for Minecraft, and that game was as big then as Fortnite is now.
I still think it's too early to judge the game based on One review and one that doesn't include the day one patch that seems to add a little to the length of the game.
But coming on the heels of Sonic Mania and Odyssey, the difference in quality surely would influence some reviewers into giving what would normally by a 6 or 7 with a lower score...
Still as said by many, it will surely be better than Bubsy. That game was GOTY material... not.
Back when the Ps4 and Xbox One were just launching, Sony mocked Microsoft for their need to be online to play, leading to enormous backlash that forces Microsoft to Backtrack. Now, Gran Turismo Sport is implementing it on the Sony platform..
Couldn't it have been better as an Outrun-clone, without the roadkill concept. I find that part quite disturbing... maybe an occasional stray deer to avoid is inevitable it cross country is the theme, but as the main draw, I think I'll pass...

Re: Feature: What Does Sony's E3 Announcement Record Look Like?
If Sony will make a surprise announcement of the PS One Mini, it would probably steal the show.
