I already have the Uncharted Trilogy but for those without it, then this is a great month for this collection alone.
I could care less about Goat Simulator. My brother showed it to me last year and I got bored of it within 2 minutes. There’s barely anything you can do in it and basically no objective or progression. Probably won’t even download it even with it being free lol.
So yeah nothing for me this month but happy for those who haven’t picked up the Uncharted games yet.
For me, great month. Always wanted to play The Last of Us but I never had a PS3 and never got around to picking it up on my PS4 Pro... so yeah I'm pretty hyped. Also, MLB The Show will be fun to try. Not particularly thrilled to play it but interested.
Well I am one of the five people left on this planet who hasn't played The Last of Us so this is a nice month for me. MLB The Show 19 isn't bad but I'm not sure how much I'll play it. I'll give it a go I suppose.
I've been wanting to buy Wipeout for a while now but never caved in because of my backlog. Super happy to see it's free this month. Sniper Elite 4 looks like good fun too. PS+ has been good to me these past months, I've barely played online this year but the free games are making it way more than worth for me.
The Last of Us Remastered would be nice as I still haven't played that yet but think the sequel looks incredible. Gran Turismo Sport would be nice too. I'd also like to see Bloodborne, Ratchet and Clank, DriveClub, or Until Dawn... but sadly all those titles were already free before I had my PS4
I graduated in May and just recently started working full-time. Also been a lot more active and have been running just about every day. Pile those two things on top of of my long commute and I really don't have much time to game outside of the weekends now. A bit sad, but I do appreciate my free time a lot more now. Looking forward to picking up Three Houses soon as my last big summer title!
@mookysam I'd insta-buy a remaster of 1, 2, or Deluxe. So many good memories with those games! Controls feel perfect and they're still challenging to play today!
Very odd. I was going to take PES for a spin but I have to say I'm much more interested in Detroit: Become Human. Was actually going to pick the game up earlier this year but didn't due to my backlog and hopes that the game would become a PS Plus title eventually. Super stoked!
For the first time in a while, I dont really mind what ends up being free in July. Between Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, getting back into Modern Warfare, and finishing my backlog, I really don't need anything else to play at the moment. Plus, Mario Maker 2 comes out in a few days!
Regardless, I hope it's a good selection for the sake of others!
@BridgeToClarity Same here. My old laptop took over 2 minutes to start up and another minute for the OS to be fully functional. Now I boot up my new laptop and I'm ready to go in about 12 seconds. Very excited to see new consoles adding them!
“And by that I mean, I’m sure that things will move faster, graphics will be better and maybe it will be easier with less wait times – that’s good for the consumer. But it’s more of the same, quite frankly, compared to previous generations. It’s nothing that’s disruptive or super innovative, if you ask me.”
I feel like the same could be said about most previous generations, minus when 3D gaming was in an infancy. It's actually good to hear that the PS5 isn't anything "disruptive" as it means developers shouldn't have a tough time transitioning from the PS4 to the PS5 from a game development perspective. I'm personally excited to get full 4K gaming, higher frame-rates, and negligible load times. I love my PS4 but I'm stoked for next generation.
It's definitely still relevant. Millions of people still watch E3 and headlines are still a big deal. It's the one time of the year that my friends who don't follow gaming at all actually come up to me and say, "yo, did you see that new game announced yesterday?" That being said, it isn't the be-all end-all show it used to be back in the day. Companies are gradually spreading game reveals and information throughout the year rather than put everything into one showing. So yeah, E3 might not be as big of a deal as it once was, but it's still relevant and probably will continue to be.
I thought Microsoft's conference was enjoyable but nothing amazing. Most of the titles we already knew about and there were a lot more cinematics than actual gameplay. Bethesda's conference was a snooze fest for me. Hoping Ubisoft and Square have solid shows. And Nintendo I am beyond hyped for. Still wish Sony had a conference but it's all good.
Wow. This is an amazing month for me. Both of these games were on my to-buy list for a while now but I just never got around to getting them. Super hyped!
It would be awesome if this game released this holiday season, but as others as said, I'm not holding my breath. This game has PS5 written all over it and I'm not sure if they could finish the remaining work on this title before 2020. We'll just have to wait and see.
Game looks really good and I'll probably be picking it up. Still seems like a bit of a step down from Transformed but hey, maybe the Team mechanic will be more interesting than I'm expecting. Love me a good kart racer.
I rarely see people say a 7 is a bad score these days. I see more people freaking out about the subject like this lol. Are there really that many people on Metacritic giving it a 7 and saying the game isn't good?
Whelp, that was just about review and score I was expecting. It looks technically impressive and looks like it has some fun elements to it, but it just doesn't do much to distance itself enough from other open-world or zombie-style games for me. I might pick it up down the road when it's a bit cheaper but I have many other games to play throughout the next few months.
I got my first 4K TV about 5 months ago. I don't watch much cable aside from sports games, so I've been able to make some great use of 4K with Netflix, YouTube, and of course my PS4 Pro. Content looks terrific... so good that I don't see a reason to get a higher resolution anytime soon.
I'm actually glad. I mean, it's kind of necessary for some PSVR games and I'm not opposed to them for some party games or unique single player titles. I hope there will be a good sports title similar to Wii Sports or something. Could be some good fun if I ever pick up a PSVR with the motion controllers.
I'm finally graduating college soon and have a job lined up. For the first time in my life I can say that I'll be able to buy a system day one without worrying much about cost. Whew, that's relieving to say.
That being said, I'm guessing the system will cost $500 at launch. It has an 8-core processor and I'm assuming the system will target full native 4K resolutions. Plus, since this is Sony, they will probably throw some gimmick into the next Dualshock to make it more expensive. Anyways, I'm excited!
Hyped. I love my PS4 Pro and am excited for a few games, but I'm pretty tech savy and would love a console that can run all games at a native 4K with HDR. 2020 is going to be awesome.
I'll be changing mine soon. My account name was created back when I was in middle school. My name wasn't offensive or bad or anything but I kind of want it changed to something I use more now.
I used to like some of the older Assassin's Creed games but I tried Odyssey last holiday season and didn't like it much. The game felt much slower paced and all of the enemies would take forever to die as they out-leveled me all of the time. Side missions were boring and felt like obligatory detours to level up. If I was a kid I could see myself liking it a lot more, but as an adult without much time to game anymore, I got bored and traded it in. Not a bad game, just not for me, sadly. Which is a shame because I love Greek Mythology.
As interesting as a viking game sounds, I'm probably going to pass if it falls under the same structure as Odyssey.
@JJ2 Jeez, I didn't say the PS4 had a bad year or wasn't great. It's just everyone is so quick to jump on the "Xbox is trash" bandwagon and not pay respects to the good games it offers. It's just my opinion, no need to get so defensive over me thinking the Xbox had one single year that was slightly better than PS4.
I actually never beat any of the games. I only own Borderlands 2 on Steam as my friends pressured me to get it with them all the way back in high school. I played through maybe 20% of the game with them but then we just kind of stopped. It was fun but I'd like to play through the entire series alone and pay attention to the story this time. Might pick up the Handsome Collection and the original re-release sometime this summer to play them on my PS4 in 4K with the new updates!
@Gumbopudding I too am leaning toward finally picking one up. I start my full-time job this summer so as soon as I see a good sale I might crack down and get one. For some reason VR golf seems awesome to me!
@Knuckles-Fajita I'd say the Xbox One shined in 2015. Not saying the PS4 had a bad 2015, but it's biggest game, Uncharted 4, got delayed until 2016. Plus a lot of the "big" PS4 games of that year were remakes or ports. Meanwhile, Xbox users got:
Halo 5
Forza 6
Gears of War Ultimate Edition
Rare Replay
Rise of the Tomb Raider (timed exclusive)
Ori and the Blind Forest
Ignoring Mario Maker and Bloodborne, I think I spent the most time on Microsoft exclusives that year... which might be the only year I could say that! Forza, Ori, and Tomb Raider kept me quite busy that holiday season!
I thought it was fine. Crash Team Racing and Days Gone look great as always. And even though I don't have PSVR, the support for it was nice to see. There's definitely room for improvement but I didn't think it was bad. There have been a lot of duds with Nintendo Directs too so I'm not even the least bit concerned.
It's ergonomically more like the Switch Pro controller and most controllers have some form of a capture button these days. I wouldn't say this is copying. And even if so, each company has been copying the best features of its rivals for years. That's why the Dualshock 4 is the first major revision for Playstation controllers (other than the introduction of analogue sticks) and the controllers all look similar this generation.
The game does look a lot better. There's a good chance I'll be picking it up since I enjoyed Transformed so much. I'm sure it's not as good but hey, hopefully I'm wrong!
Downloaded it earlier. This update didn't do much for me. I don't care about subtitles unless I'm playing with friends talking over the game. I do think the motion blur is too strong but there is no option to lower it, only to remove it entirely, so I just kept it on after trying the game without it. Load times seem much faster, though. Glad for those who want to remove the blur or need subtitles!
Wow. I haven't played a Call of Duty game in so long. The only games I really played were World at War and the original two Modern Warfares back in the day. For the first time in years, I'm actually super stoked to play Call of Duty.
I've also heard good things about The Witness so perhaps I'll go that a go.

I'm overexagerating, naturally, but it was basically a game that was fun for all but 5 minutes. Really sad considering how beautiful the game was and how fun the world could have been to explore.

Re: PS5 Price Will Land Between $400 and $500 Says Poll, But $500 to $600 Isn't Out of the Question
I'll pay $500 but I think that's my cap. Hopefully there are some good launch titles, too. Looking forward to the game announcements!
Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on the PS5, Now That More Details Have Been Revealed?
I'm very excited for it. Games already look terrific with my PS4 Pro and 4K TV setup but... better graphics and new games are always exciting!
Re: Poll: Is PS Now's Price Drop Tempting You to Subscribe?
I really don't have much time to game these days so I already have a huge backlog thanks to PS+. It's really great deal now but it's just not for me.
Re: Twitter Poll Suggests a Brand New Super Monkey Ball Game Could Be on the Cards
I wouldn't mind a new game but given the series track record, I'd prefer a remake of the originals. The Vita version was surprisingly solid though.
Re: The Last of Us 2 Comes with a Beautiful Reversible PS4 Cover in a Few Territories
Definitely better than the standard box-art.I don't usually use reversible covers but I'll probably be using this one.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for October 2019?
For me, great month. Always wanted to play The Last of Us but I never had a PS3 and never got around to picking it up on my PS4 Pro... so yeah I'm pretty hyped. Also, MLB The Show will be fun to try. Not particularly thrilled to play it but interested.

Overall pretty happy.
Re: Activision Looking into Possibly Making New Crash and Spyro Content, More Retro Remakes
I'm all for it. It's been a while since a new Spyro title came out that felt traditional and was actually good.

Re: Gran Turismo PS5 Is Already in Development
Good to hear. I like more single-player options and I'd love to see the game run at 4K 60fps.
