Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play Livestream?

Callmegil

It was meh. I understand their line of thought as a marketing person. They want to advertise titles that would have not gotten any attention otherwise. It kinda worked, I have ReadySet Heroes is the back of my mind for no reason now lol. They wouldn't advertise a major titles before the release of Days Gone. Not even Nintendo does that.

It could be better, sure, I won't disagree. But you have to understand with a platform like this, they can push lot more on different titles.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Executive: Google Stadia Starts Inevitable Shift Away from Consoles

Callmegil

I find it a classic solution, if you want to play those MEGA AAA titles, but the PS4 or Xbox is already being used. Most of them are not on the Switch—what to do? Wait is not an option.

Stadia might fix that issue. Yes, I know GeForce Now is more than a viable solution already, but in my case, I have to move it from my home theater setup. Chromecast Ultra is a better portable device.

Re: Animated Arcade Game Cuphead Skipping PS4

@BarFooToo They also called Double Fine Productions their friends. I'm sure it's just a respectful way to address to other companies. When Reggie released his retirement statement, Shawn Layden said "from your friends at Playstation". Yesterday when Google was talking about Stadia, they showed a Pac-Man inspired Style filter and followed along with the lines "This is from an old friend" [supposedly Namco or Atari].

Sounds like it's a formal way of speaking.

Re: Animated Arcade Game Cuphead Skipping PS4

I wonder if PlayStation has any plans to change their core values and become more willing to cooperate, other than just necessary.

It sounds to me game companies don't have rivalry now. Microsoft is changing their services to be fully multiplaform (as Phil said he want Xbox Live in both Switch AND PS4, I kid you not) and streaming.
Nintendo is focused in bringing classics exclusives whilst having a major appeal to the general market.
What is Playstation doing? They said more couch co-op and less AAA titles per year—that doesn't sound like a plan to me.

Google will be directly competing with Microsoft (again, MS doesn't catch a break lol), Steam is competing with Epic Games. Nintendo is chilling and I don't know what Playstation is doing.

Re: Dead or Alive 6 Can't Shed Hyper-Sexualisation Or Fans Will Leave

Callmegil

Is it not a "No-Brainer" that the lack of over-sexualized characters makes the game maturer? You have games like GTA where they exploit sex, an indication that said game is for a maturer audience.

Then you have sexual innuendo, where tits and ass are the highlight, but mainly to attract weak minded audience, people who still a child at heart (not trying to offend anyone, it's just true). This doesn't make a game mature, gore violence does, graphic sexual scene does, not the showcase of sideboob and skin.

Re: Spider-Man PS4 Dev Pushes Back Against Fan Criticisms Regarding DLC

Callmegil

People forget that Developers are not waiters. They are not here to serve every request you have. They will not tolerate your child attitude either. This type of behaviour is what strives Developers away from communities and the reason why certain companies choose to remain silent until they have to share stuff.

You act like a willie*, you get willie treatment.

*willie = male's genitalia.

Re: Sony: Our Players Demand Single Player Games

Callmegil

I don't understand the "cinematic story is tiresome" argument. If the story is not cinematic, you have a linear Super Mario game. PlayStation has a great variety of games that do not approach the cinematic formula, the issue is that people don't buy those games and that sends a message to PlayStation that we, as consumers, are more interested in heavy storytelling.

Seriously, how many have bought Gravity Rush (both), The Last Guardian or Shadow of Colossus in comparison to Horizon, God of War or Uncharted 4?

Re: Sony Patented a Cartridge and Everyone Went Mental Over It

Callmegil

@AdamNovice The only way they can achieve a hybrid experience is by having a 5G compatible system and let people stream it on the move. 5G makes this an easy possible solution, letting you access your games from a phone AND Smart TVs (since Sony has a line-up of Smart TVs it's only a selling point).

I made plans for this system, I called it: Playstation of Things (do no steal).

Re: Sony May Be Planning a PlayStation Controller with a Screen

Callmegil

I would use it but to apply what my man above said! PS Now anywhere. It's possible with 5G, not only that but they could expand it to Smart TVs (Sony Bravia) and smartphones (EDIT: The idea is that you don't have to carry the main unit, only the controller and the Internet will do the rest).

They way they could handle it is if you have an account registered to a PS5, you can stream your games (both physical and digital—sinxe every game is registered to your account and every game has a digital copy, the application only has to know you own it, so you can stream it) to the aforementioned devices. The screen on Dualshock 5 will serve as a remote cast, allowing you to connect to a device and use that Controller to play. It's a simple idea, but with the right tools, it's a hell of a feature.

Re: Rumour: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Set to Storm PS4 Next Month

Callmegil

This game kind of will not be as well received as it would if it was released on PS4 last year. Fortnite is too strong and apparently Blackout is top Battle Royale banter.

I feel bad for them, they've reinvented the model and are not the ones leading that market. It's even more sad that they have to use their competitor's engine.

Re: No, Enabling Cross-Play Isn't as Easy as People Like to Think, Says PlayStation Boss

Callmegil

I probably said the exact same thing more times than I can count to Xbox fanboys and Nintendo fans (given they don't understand s***). Doesn't matter if Shawn Layden confirms what I say, because to them, Shawn Layden is no one.

Example: here on PushSquare, we concluded that they would enable crossplay based on the response from Shawn. But everyone outside this community didn't either read it or understood what he said and they actually believe Playstation took this decision from one day to another, when it actually took 4 months to execute the changes.
