Re: Futuristic PS5 Fan Design Is so Stylish

Creative_Native

I think Sony hit the sweet spot with the PS4, a little more powerful than its competitor when the base models released while also being smaller and much more sleek and stylish. They seemed to have learned many lessons since the halcyon days of the PS3 launch, and I expect them to make stylistic changes to the design while maintaining what worked so well with the PS4. Cannot wait.

Re: Poll: How Much Does PS5 Backwards Compatibility Matter to You?

Creative_Native

I never really understood this. Adding in backwwrsa compatibility in previous generations almost always meant tacking on a handsome sum to the overall cost of the new console. I would much rather not have it and keep the price down. You can always grab an older/used console at your local flea market or pawn shop for fairly cheap and play those games the way they were designed to be played....not emulated onto a new system with wonky controller schemes and color bleed. UGH

Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for The Last of Us 2's Return?

@deadlyblack It does feel like it has been an incredibly long wait....but not nearly as long as the wait from when the first CyberPunk teaser dropped(literally 10 years ago), at least we know both are coming soon, and they will probably both be in the top 5 of PS4 games when it is all said and done. Hell, CDPR has a real chance to have two games end up in the top 3 of the entire console generation. Pretty damn impressive.

Re: Talking Point: Is a PlayStation Game Pass Viable?

I am all for choice and fair market competition, if Microsoft feels the need to turn video game development into your local lunch buffet...."where nothing tastes good but at least they keep bringing out a lot of different no good tasting things!". Be my guest Microsoff, but I prefer my games to be made in an environment where they are given years to develop and grow. Development based off of learned mistakes and perseverance....not cookie cutter gaming where the winner is whoever can rush the next episode of Halo: Downtrodden #6 out the quickest. The very nature of this subscription based gaming files against part of the essence of what makes a game. Similar to how TV shows are great for binge watching on NetFlix, movies not nearly as much. I dont want my games to get lower budget compact versions, all for the sake of promoting some gimmicky service Microsoft is peddling in an attempt to justify the existence of its rapidly wilting gaming department. Do not ruin the industry and the market while you sink and burn XBox.

Re: BioWare-Style RPG GreedFall's Launch Trailer Is Pretty Great

Creative_Native

I gave Spiders, and Bound By Flame, a chance when it first released for the PS4. People forget that at the time BBF released there were no RPGs or fantasy style games out as of yet, so they rushed it out and filled a little niche. Full of warts, and clearly they were still learning how to do it. From what I can tell they turned enough profit to churn out technomancer and turn a gain on that one as well, learning more about how they want to build games in the process. Hopefully they had enough of a budget with Greedfall to implement all of their ideas and gameplay mechanics into one game, refined and ready for AAA quality. Thus far they have been a AA developer hands down, let's see if they made the leap to the big leagues, or if the same technical issues that have kept them in the AA developer zone continue to pop up.

Re: New The Last of Us 2 Gameplay Shown Behind Closed Doors, Could Be Made Public Soon

For me, the PS4 is already a huge success, but for it to reach truly legendary console status in my eyes, it will need TLOU2, CP2077, and one more heavy hitter to cement itself as one of the top 3 gaming consoles ever made. Maybe that 3rd game is Ghosts of Tsushima, but I do think it needs two more absolute killer 1st party games(including TLOU2) to enter the realm of legendary status.

No way that TLOU2 is releasing in 2019, we are basically in September now and Sony will definitely want to announce the release date far enough ahead for proper marketing etc. I could honestly see it getting pushed to the fall of 2020, much like part one that was basically the swan song of the PS3 and released not many months before the PS4 hit the shelves. That worked out beautifully for them last time and I would bet good money they will follow a very similar template. Timing is everything with games like this, especially one that many will consider the pinnacle of the generation.

Re: Sony's Sending Lucky PS4 Owners a Free Game

Am I the only one that watches youtube videos in VR mode on the PS4 pro? Some really cool stuff to be found, and MUCH easier to get your non gaming family and friends in on the VR action without jumping right into controller use and possible motion sickness. I got my non gaming GF hooked on VR youtube, and originally she talked smack about how dorky we looked wearing it! Whose the dork now Becky?

@GKO900 I honestly think that Sony will be the driving factor in fully mainstreaming VR. Sony is bringing it to the living room, whereas the other headsets I think will always be in that more expensive enthusiast class that is by it's own nature restrictive to the majority of gamers. Like it or not casuals make up the largest consumer base for gaming, so if you want something new to stick you have to get them on board, and you cant do that if they think it has to be tied to their PC. I have tried all 3 major headsets and for sheer comfort and ease of use Sony takes the cake.
