Re: PS4 Console Production Reduced to Just One Model in Japan

Flurpsel

@TheArt well it sold really well and a lot of people were happy with it so I would say it wasn't a bad move. Maybe they shouldve discontinued it a little earlier but perhaps they didnt expect the amount of day one sales that the PS5 had. I think corona meant a lot of people were sitting at home bored out of their minds so sales were very good.

@ObserverGamez yeah its funny how the other characters were a lot more interesting than the main character. I liked Juna as well and I thought Jin acted like a right a****** to her, convincing her to stay all the time. "Promise me to keep fighting". Oh come on! Just let her go allready lol.

Re: Soapbox: I Can't Keep Up with Service Games

Flurpsel

I make a point of only completing games before I buy new ones so I never have a huge backlog although I offcourse have a wishlist of games I want to play. This keeps it more manageable. Liveservice games however you can't ever complete so they don't appeal to me for that reason. I think you should tell yourself to only commit to 1 or 2 at the most live service games if you're into them.

Re: Soapbox: Rainbow Six: Siege Is My Favorite Shooter of All Time and I Hate It

I wish we would go back to the format of the original RB6 games, those were some of the best games I have ever played. The planning and tactical skills required were really pushing my skills as a 12 year old but I can honestly say they shaped me as a person. Having to make decisions whether to continue the campaign when you end a mission with 2 dead and a couple wounded, putting you in a bad position for upcoming missions. So many choices to make.
Not to mention the awesome feeling when you execute your plan perfectly.

Unfortunately to me the franchise doesn't exist anymore. I can never see myself playing this counterstrike look a like. Especially after articles like this.

@ObserverGamez I agree its a great game but personally I found a few faults. Jin was too dry for my opinion. Allways this sober dude, no laughing. The ending did give me goosebumps though.

And the side quests were very bland. Person in distress needs help, go kill a handfull of enemies, receive charm you allready have a dozen duplicates of. The other open world collectibles like fox dens etc were a dime a dozen as well. You did one you did them all. So while the world was gorgeous it didnt push me to explore it.

Ill stop complaining now, like I said its still a great game and I'm glad you enjoyed it

@carlos82 completely agree with you. GoT is objectively a good game but the open world fluff they couldve done without. My main gripe were the lacklustre side quests. And the infinite thunderstorm because apparently I didnt play as it was supposed to really bothered me as well.

Doom Eternal I had high hopes for but imo it suffered from 'sequel syndrome' and went too far over the top.

TLOU2 could do without the woke characters that felt forced in, especially in a post apocalyptic world. But I think especially gameplay wise it was a big leap forward from TLOU1. And the first half was one of my favourite gaming moments of this generation. The 2nd half took me a while to get into but eventually grew on me. However the game as a whole outstayed it's welcome a bit in the final act (imo).

Re: Ubisoft Shoves XP Boosting Microtransaction into Assassin's Creed Valhalla a Month After Launch

Flurpsel

@carlos82 exactly this, thank you.

@jmac1686 What is the problem with these XP boosters you ask? Because they will make the game intentionally grindy just to sell XP boosters, rather than just giving you the option to progress at your own pace.

Take Ghost of Tsushima for example, there are no level or 'gold' requirements to advance the story. If you just want to play the story and skip all side content you can do so without paying a dime. As it should be...

Just look at Far Cry New Dawn or Ghost Recon Breakpoint (not incidentally both recent Ubisoft games). Suddenly they implemented a leveling system for weapons when its predecessors didnt. Why do you reckon that is? Do they really think it will 'improve' the gameplay for you? Or is it there so they can sell XP boosters and time savers?

Re: Hands On: This Is How Cyberpunk 2077 Runs on PS5, PS4 Pro, and PS4

Flurpsel

@sanderson72 took a while before my copy arrived and I had time to play. But played a few hours now and in my opinon the performance is pretty decent. I have a pro with an SSD and play on a 1080P 40inch screen without HDR. Maybe if you have a 60" 4K screen it doens't look as good as one would expect.

Loading times and controller response are fine. Some outdoor areas can be a bit rough and especially when driving your car through these areas the framerate can drop a bit.

I haven't had any hard crashes and major bugs, so all in all on PS Pro I'm confident that they can fix these issues with a couple of patches. I'm going to wait untill the february patch releases and try again I think.

Re: Sony Thinks PS5's Storage Space 'Should Be Fine'

Flurpsel

@naruball Nope. But it has a couple of very distinct advantages (and disadvantages ofcourse..). Maybe some day in the future it will actually work for the majority of people and instant game installs and updates will make our life objectively better for it

Re: Sony Thinks PS5's Storage Space 'Should Be Fine'

Flurpsel

I like to keep as many games installed and up to date as possible because installing and updating a game can take up to a full day sometimes because of massive update files mostly. If they did something about that then maybe 650GB would be enough.

Remember that thing called Stadia, you can add infinite games to your library and launch them instantly. You have to admit that is pretty sweet.
