Re: Feature: Days Gone - Why Sony Bend's PS4 Open Worlder Is Essential a Year Later

Flurpsel

I got up to about 50-75 percent of the game but it never really clicked. Gameplay was clunky and repetitive in my opinion and too many bugs for a 1st party release. Maybe it also wasnt the right game in the right time for me as I'm not a big fan of open world games anymore and I can handle only so many of them in a year.

Good to hear it received proper support after launch and other people are enjoying it a lot.

Re: Free Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey Downloads Available Now on PS4

Flurpsel

I got the first UC bundled with my PS3 and left in the seal for years. When I finally got around to playing it I ended up really enjoying it. Played the second one many years later but didn't like it that much. The pattern of shooting guys followed by a puzzle got a bit stale. Also I didn't feel much like a good guy after murdering a couple dozen museum guards in the first mission.
Never got around to the 3rd of 4th and don't think I will.

Re: The Crew 2 Is Free This Weekend on PS4

Flurpsel

@BalsBigBrother me too. Also with a brand new T300 steering wheel. Together this is the best racing I've ever done in a game.

PC2 is an insanely good game too. I remember the first one being superbuggy and practically unplayable with a controller, this one is awesome though

Re: Reminder: Superb PS4 Racer Driveclub Goes Offline Tomorrow

Flurpsel

Absolutely brilliant game.
-The tracks looked phenomenal with a lot of varied locaties and point to point races (which are always my favourite in any racing game).

  • Also a fantastic car list (admittedly not a lot of asian cars though) with a lot of attention for detail.
The photo mode was second to none.
The handling was accessible but at the same time had enough depth to be fun and challenging.
    Engine sounds were great.
And what was also really cool was how the game would always find a ghost time that was just a little better than you, so you could keep improving yourself again and again.

I played this for many many hours.

Re: In An Alternate Timeline, We'd Be Playing The Last of Us 2 Right Now

Flurpsel

Fortunately Doom Eternal is set to release in march to fill the void. Im not complaining at all by the way because sometimes a year passes with zero games I buy day one and this year there are a few I'm really interested in:
Doom Eternal
The Last of Us 2
Cyberpunk
Dying Light 2
Even in the very unlikely event that half of them turn out to be stinkers It's still a great year. This line up is basically why I found it worthwhile to invest in a Pro on black friday. Even this late in the PS4 lifecycle.

Re: Latest PlayStation Store Sale Offers Discounts on Critically Acclaimed PS4 Games

Flurpsel

@ApostateMage I had an absolute blast with it, especially for the 8 euro I paid for it . Maybe not as good as 2 and 3 but definitely still a lot of fun. Like you say the combat is great and I think your crew is pretty decent too, better than most characters in ME3 in my opinion.
The only thing that bothered me was the quality of most of the side quests and some planets looked like crap too. OKay and maybe the character creator was sh*t too. It does feel rushed at some points.

Re: Metro Exodus: Sam's Story DLC Is in Search of the USA, Out Next Month

Flurpsel

Good to hear it has a release date. I bought the season pass thinking all content was released but apparently this wasn't.

Really enjoyed the base game but I can understand it isn't everyones cup of tea. I was a bit skeptical about the switch to open world but it definitely didn't feel like it was padded out like a ubisoft open worlder. Exploration was rewarded but not mandatory.

Re: Control DLC Is Heavily Discounted Before Any Content Is Released

Flurpsel

I never buy content with the promise of something in the future and more people should adhere to that rule. It puts all consumers in a stronger position.

I did buy the Metro Exodus season pass which apparently wasnt released in full yet but I didnt realize that untill after the purchase. Now I cant sell the game untill all content is released and I have to keep it installed or Ill forget Im waiting on the extra content.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 306

Flurpsel

@Shigurui I dont specifically remember him being very weak. I think you can drop from a reasonable height if I remember correctly, like a 1st story floor or something.

I played some FC3 last night, the hunting animals and climbing towers feels absolutely archeic. Silently murdering a bandit camp with nothing but a bow and your knife never gets old though. Especially when you get some of the more advanced perks like chain kills and knife throwing. I think Ill have fun with it at least untill the 2nd island which in my first playthrough was allready pretty boring.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 306

Flurpsel

@Shigurui I played 5 allready and it's a lot of fun too. Cool story, some great antagonists, nice weapons, and just very easy to pick and play in any style you want to. There were a bit too many random encounters happening though, it would sometimes get annoying. Other than that, great game. Definitely up there with 3.

Re: Feature: The PS4 Games You Already Forgot Were Released in 2019

Flurpsel

Shame to hear Metro wasnt a hit. Im playing through it right now and Im very much enjoying it. Just like I did the redux version of the first 2 games.

Its incredibly tense but there are also moments of relaxation. The difficulty is spot on for me. You have to really approach situations carefully and conserve your ammo and not just go in guns blazing. Also the art direction is absolutely phenomenal. Allmost every single sight could be a wallpaper of its own. The voice acting is terrible though..

Re: Game of the Year: Sammy's Top 5 PS4 Games of 2019

Flurpsel

@get2sammyb I suppose it's a 'sympathetic' game, a new IP made by a relatively small studio, no micro transactions, the game wasn't trying to be anything it's not, even the main character was sympathetic.. so you kind of want the game to succeed Unfortunately I just didn't click with it.

@JJ2 well it's his list so of course he can put any game he wants on it. "Lonely Mountains" isn't an obvious choice either XD

Re: Google Stadia Terrified Sony Before Streaming Service's Tepid Launch

Flurpsel

A friend of mine bought it and he describes himself as the target audience. A casual gamer who could gave a rat's *** about graphical fidelity (he skipped two console generations so anything is an improvement from his point of view). He enjoys the lack of a console, he has a decent internet connection.

To be honest I would still advise him a second hand PS4 but he wanted to give this a go. I've still yet to play it though.

Re: This Time Next Year, We'll Be Playing PS5

Flurpsel

If the backwards compatibility also counts for digitally purchased games and there are a couple of decent launch titles I might get it early. But definitely not untill at least a few months in to make sure the hardware is tested properly. I never had any problems whatsoever with my base PS4 in the 5 years I've had it but still..

Re: Rumour: PS5 Controller Removes Light Bar

Flurpsel

Lol I never thought so many people would like the lightbar. I found it pretty annoying.
Cons:

  • drains battery
  • reflects in the screen when playing in the dark
  • is distracting
  • couldn't be turned off

Pros:

  • ???

Same for the little speaker btw. Turned it off and never missed it. Overall I did like the Dualshock 4. Mainly for it's ergonomics compared to the 3.
