@ThorsHammer I have said the same thing before. It would be a total shame to completely shutter the studio and waste talent and resources. Maybe take the key people and create a new studio to finish Factions off, I feel the name Firewalk will forever be tainted by this failure.
I think it's clear now why Microsoft aren't producing a mid-gen upgrade for Series X. They clearly saw how much they'd have to charge and decided it wasn't worth it. Obviously their sales vs PlayStation is probably a large factor too. The PS5 Pro isn't the same level of upgrade that the PS4 Pro was. The PS4 Pro made more sense as 4K displays were relatively new to the market and it offered a significant resolution upgrade with added HDR over the base PS4. Plus it did it by matching the launch price of the base PS4 at $400 (that's $524 today). I think Sony has made a bad decision with the PS5 Pro, they should've just not bothered. I think most gamers are OK with the PS5 performance. At least I am anyway. I'm sure they will sell significant numbers, but it won't be as high as the 20% install base the PS4 Pro had, more like 10%.
Bring back Shawn Layden! Playstation was on fire during his tenure and it really felt like they understood gamers. Hit after hit, good business decisions, press conferences which gave us exciting gaming reveals, funny jabs at the competition, and of course Kevin Butler. It certainly wasn't all perfect, but it was a damn sight better than the experience under Jim Ryan, and now Herman Hulst. What Sony needs to do is have a killer Showcase to get us all excited for the future. Astro Bot should provide a bandaid in the meantime but currently the future of PS is shrouded in shadow and fans are getting tired of their current strategy.
@DennisReynolds that is a fair point, though COD is the exception to the rule, I think because it's been so popular for so long. I don't think I worded what I meant properly before. GoT was just the last game that wasn't Halo or COD which I remember having both modes. Almost no other single player games these days have multiplayer modes. It used to be pretty common, I think back to the days of PS3 when a lot of games had both modes out of the box.
I miss the days when a game came out with a full single player campaign and then also had a fun multiplayer mode at no extra cost. Ghost of Tsushima had no reason to release a multiplayer mode, but it appeared just in time for many to have completed the campaign, and it was fully fleshed out and fun.
I had a go and it's not for me, but I'm not really into hero shooters. It's very polished and it does what it does well, but I didn't think it was anything special. It's good but is it £35 upfront good? I don't think so. It should be F2P.
I played for about an hour. Here's my thoughts so far...
Good graphics with smooth gameplay
Well designed UI and presentation
Characters all feel unique
Polished with no major bugs or crashes
too many slow characters
feels limited for a pay to play game
doesn't stand out from other hero shooters
it feels several years too late A few questions I have; 1. Will there be microtransactions in the full game? I couldn't see a store at least. I could say this should be F2P, but honestly, I hate the F2P model as I find MTX to be abhorrent due to the insane prices. If you can get the full experience for just £34.99, I think that's good. 2. But do I think this game is worth spending money on? Maybe for some, but probably not for me. I prefer PvE to PvP games and this isn't my kind of shooter. I've yet to play an FPS I have enjoyed more than Titanfall 2. I prefer fast-paced games and this seem too slow for me. 3. Do I think this game will succeed? Probably not. It's not doing enough to stand out and feels too similar to other games, plus it's main rivals are F2P and that immediately gives it an uphill struggle.
Biggest feature they didn't mention was they finally added ALLM! This one's a big deal for me as watching video through the PS5 is always annoying having to switch between game mode and Filmmaker mode. So glad they finally added this
I purchased this game and I always complete any game I purchase. I'm careful about choosing the games I purchase and I haven't been disappointed with the PS4. I don't always complete games I get free through PS+ though. There are games from older generations I didn't complete though because I got stuck or they were too difficult.
Crashes aren't the only thing to be affected. I like many others have been playing every day since release and have spent a lot of hours hunting down all the loot and sharing information amongst a passionate community regarding where to get certain cosmetic items etc. The patch has moved a lot of the locations and made weeks of work by fans now null and void!
I have zero regrets preordering Cyberpunk. I am over 60 hours in on my base PS4 and the patches have really made a difference. I am thoroughly enjoying the game and would say it's one of my favourite games this year. It has bugs still but it's not broken anymore. It's not perfect but it's clear to me why it took CDPR so many years to make. There's a lot to enjoy and the progression system is really deep and intricate, it takes about 20 hours to really get into I'd say. Appreciate the lower frame rate is not acceptable for some but it doesn't really bother me. Will Push Square re-review in the future once the issues are ironed out? Because at this moment in time 3/10 isn't accurate anymore
How did CDPR make such a monumental mistake like this? They knew full well that the game was broken! There must've been developers saying to management "this is going to destroy our reputation" and they were just ignored? There is a great game to be found under all this mess but they should've delayed it again
Hopefully a significant number of bugs will be fixed before the end of the year. At least so its playable. I doubt there's much which can be done for the poor AI and reduced fidelity and frame rate though, the game is clearly too ambitious for current gen consoles
Clearly CDPRs vision for this game was far too ambitious for the current generation. There's definitely much that's great about this game but it's being overshadowed by technical problems because the consoles it was made for can't handle it. Personally I find the main story missions to be the best part of the game right now and the open world exploration is causing the most technical issues. Perhaps it would've been better as a more linear experience. I'd still have played it without a fully open world because bugs etc. aside I am enjoying it
Most open world games have vast expanses with nothing to do anyway, spend most of your time travelling from A to B. This looks like it'll be less time travelling and more time discovering which sounds far more interesting if you ask me
The AR model is too large, had to shrink it down to. Matched it up against a tape measure and reduced it to about 70% in size. Shame you can't view it sideways
There's already loads of PS5 preorders being sold on ebay, many for more than the console is worth. This is very disappointing but predictable. Someone needs to come up with a way to avoid this nonsense because it happens with everything these days. I'd already decided to wait until next year to get one but really bad for anyone who was wanting one on launch day
The copying procedure is also why you need to have way more free space on the HDD than the download file size. It copies the entire game and then deletes the original copy once it's finished. So if you're updating a game which is 100GB you'll need at least 100GB free space to install the update. It's such a waste of HDD space to have to do this and can result in having to delete games every time. I recommend anyone to get an external drive, it's made things so much easier for me
