Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

KingdomTears

The thing is, all you can really say about the Pro is that the graphics are a "bit" better - for those to whom this kind of thing matters, what price can you reasonably put on this small improvement?

Most enthusiasts would have already bought the Disk version at £450 when the PS5 launched in 2020, and at absolute best you're going to get £350 back if you now attempted to sell the console on the second-hand market.

To get the Pro with the same features as your base PS5 (i.e. a stand and disk-drive) it's going to cost you £800.

That's asking for a minimum of £450 extra for a "bit" better than a system you currently own. Who can really justify this?

Mine arrived early this morning but had to wait until the end of my work day to actually try it out properly. Really impressive so far but has left me a bit disorientated (first time using home VR), hopefully that'll pass in time. Got Horizon, Rez and Kayak Mirage to start with. Have my eyes on Moss 1&2, Tetris Effect and Tale of onogoro also. Great launch line up!

@get2sammyb @KingdomTears - just as an update to my comment above (in case of interest to the site or anyone reading) - I received a pre-order link this morning, so they are clearly sending a few more out ahead of launch.

Hey @get2sammyb - have you guys heard anything about Sony offering another chance to pre-order PSVR2 before launch? I never received an email -yes, I checked my junk, promotions and other folders- despite registering multiple times before the pre-orders went live.

I've noticed that if you're based in Canada (and likely other countries that didn't have the invite system) that you can just go to Amazon or Walmart and pre-order - so they clearly haven't run out of stock:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BLT6368N?ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_P8WH4GDB4VHD2V319YQ6&th=1

https://www.walmart.ca/search?q=6000205686718%206000205688271&c=all

Pretty frustrating for us based in countries such as the UK who would still like to pre-order but are being blocked for some completely unknown reason.
