@GamerDad66 I'd almost expect it at this point given Sony's mismanagement of the next gen transition. Especially since it's coming to PC and even after they changed the wording, it actually implied it was coming to more than PC as well.
I'll pick it up on PC where it will be best, but knowing it's directed by Yoshi-P has me worried. Sure he saved FFXIV with 2.0 but each subsequent expansion has made the game worse and worse.
@NEStalgia I will never forget the day I was discussing the (at the time) upcoming 200cc mode being added to Mario Kart 8 on WiiU on the dedicated Nintendo section of a multiplatform site. While everyone was pondering how hard it could make the game, tracks, turns, etc a bunch of Souls fanboys hijacked the thread out of nowhere with "this isn't hard, Dark Souls is hard" shenanigans.
As for the rest, Xbox had the "win" of the 360 era and then 7 years of damage control for Xbox One era and now upcoming next gen.
Sony, taking the hard L for all of PS3 then the cockiness of winning (and getting no advancement from Sony because of it) during the PS4. "We don't need better features or innovation, we've sold more units!!"
Undertale I barely noticed, other than the 1st few months when it released. People were insufferable about it but it went away from what I saw.
RE: Nintendo being the worst, I've always maintained the Switch is the Wii 2.0 (with the inferior console missing half the games) the Soy Cons being wiimote 2.0 and since it's the Wii era all over again (casual market doing numbers) but now all those casuals have twitter accounts and youtube channels.
Personally I see Nintendo fanboys as the worst, followed closely by Soulsborne and then Nier Automata. Playstation probably comes in 5th, behind Xbox in 4th. Mainly because the Playstation camp only have "MUH SSD THO!" and "exclusives!1!!eleventyone1!!" to use as points, but the Microsoft guys use every type of tech there is (incorrectly) to damage control their lack of games and worrying trend with the upcoming consoles.
Remember, it's only the irrational fanboys, not the general fans/fanbase.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some more RGB to install on my RGB. 8D
@nessisonett From everything I see around the various parts of the internet, I've settled with the Nintendo fanboys being the worst, followed by Sony and then Microsoft in third.
I'm sure it will "support" it meaning it'll work when set to 4k mode (or 1080p if you want blurry, sub native scaling) but I doubt it's gonna have a 1440p setting and most games won't redistribute the cpu/gpu to work better with 2560x1440 and high framerates. It'll just supersample the 4k resolution/mode/visuals down to 1440p so it'll clean up the image a bit better,
@Medic_Alert There's a separate WD tech press release (not the product line press release) that mentions they worked with Sony to ensure PS5 compatibilty. It will be on the list when Sony publish their list.
I moved all my PS4 games to an external SSD for whenever I bother getting a PS5 in the future, I'll have to update this since it's on there. Might even test it out with the SSD + new patch.
Edit: Just tested it out, not sure how much is down to it being on an SSD or how much is down to the patch or a combination of both, but it loaded a level cold from the menu in 6 seconds, as opposed to the usual 30-60+ seconds
@TheFrenchiestFry Most people still try cite the 2080TI for their "PC can ONLY do X" claims. And when you show them 3080/3090 benchmarks it's just goalposts getting moved with "lol who has those cards!"
@KidBoruto Generic raytracing is a feature of the game engine and is a "catch all" that can be done by lots of different cards, and is usually lower quality and less accurate because it has to factor in lots of different card types and architectures and how they run/handle it, without spending a million hours to custom tune ever single card (there are LOTS of them). It is also controlled completely by software with no dedicated portion of the cards to support just the raytracing.
RTX on the Nvidia cards has dedicated hardware on the cards (called Tensor cores) to specifically handle the raytracing. It is more finely tuned for both only a very select amount of cards and the dedicated hardware/software to go with it.
TL;DR, generic can be done by most things, but to varying degrees of quality. RTX is finely tuned and optimised highly for the smaller selection of cards and games that support it. RTX is also exclusive to Nvidia products (consoles use AMD hardware)
@KidBoruto They don't have one yet since this is their 1st line that can ever do it. Their new GPU conference is next week, but it could also just be support for generic raytracing rather than an AMD specific one.
With the state of FF7R on PS4 Pro, not patch/fix can ever bring me back to it. I'll begrudgingly play it on PC, where it won't suffer from the wealth of console limitations it had, but only because I'll be playing part 2 and beyond on PC.
This game was the epitome of "game I can't wait out exclusivity for" and that bit me in the arse, both in a technical disaster and poor game.
@3MonthBeef That was probably me. I mentioned doing that so I never had any possible reason to ever go back to it. I didn't do it for trophy reasons though (trophies are the lowest form of recognition to me across all platforms that measure them to me).
Compared to my other platinums (except The Order 1886, which I did out of boredom 1 night years after playing it) which were all out of love for the games. I didn't want to ever come back to it so I made sure it would never be a potential "well I'm bored, think I'll randomly get a trophy or something".
@SwitchVogel In case you didn't know how hard their hate boner is for Kojima, let me illustrate something.
Recently the original MGS1 and 2 PC ports from back in the day were ported to modern OS through GOG. There were almost no other improvements/changes made other than being natively compatible with modern OS and now both xinput and directinput joypads.
Except 1 other change. They went through both games and scrubbed Kojima's name from every possible scene and credit. And with how some of that worked in MGS 1, there was a lot of re-recording involved.
@KidBoruto No console games have RTX as they are AMD based consoles. RTX is not short for raytracing. It's proprietary nvidia tech using nvidia exclusive hardware.
Last week I bought an external SSD for my PS4 games to use on PS5 whenever they release a game that makes me want to buy one, since FF16 isn't exclusive, and I purposely left P.T. on my PS4 Pro exactly because of this.
I remember the infamous "This is all gameplay" trailer. Then you play the demo and you see the flash of black transitioning from CLEARLY a cinematic to absolutely awful and bland looking visuals. Turned me off buying the game and even from the entire series going forward. Only got Shadowfall because it came free with my PS4. First game was great though.
@nessisonett That's why I always say "keep that same energy from FF7R" when Microsoft announces a timed exclusive and the Sony fanboys lose their minds.

Re: The Elder Scrolls 6 Being Xbox Exclusive Is 'Hard to Imagine', Says Todd Howard
1. It's not up to Todd after Microsoft own the company.
2. People can skirt the wording "hard to imagine being exclusive" because it will release on PC as well since that's not an exclusive.
Re: Demon's Souls PS5 Has 'a Lot of New Content'
