Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Will Have More Tuning Parts Than Past Entries

I'm at the point now that by the time a GT is finally released I'm not even that interested. Especially with the weird not really a full game stuff they put out. The way they "hype" the game does nothing for me either. It reminds me of SSB in way. The designer talks about stuff as if the only people that exist are die hard fans that drool over the smallest bit of mind numbingly boring information. I guess it's hard to make GT look overly exciting though tbf.

Re: Talking Point: Why Aren't You Playing Knockout City with PS Plus?

Played it on Xbox with game pass when it came out. Thought it was pretty boring myself. Not sure what people see in it really. If I was a fan of the game I wouldn't compare it to Rocket League as it won't be a favourable comparison imo. Rocket League feels like playing a legitimate sport. It doesn't need successful alternate modes (and hoops and drop shot in RL are great anyway). To me rocket league is all about fluid, precise control mixed with hitting the ball at the right angles like pool shots, it's all about the physics. There's no running around and pressing lock on to throw dodge balls in what is ultimately a slow paced 3rd person shooter. It's a pretty poor comparison really. Surely it's much more like Splatoon. It doesn't hold up to that though either...

The ammount of times EA has given this away in one way or another since launch is also weird af. No idea why they don't just go straight free to play.

I'll stick to Rocket League for my MP fix.

It's weird to me that so many outlets are treating this as some new, unknown IP and barely ever mention that it's clearly just an iteration of Steep. You'd think it was some unknown commodity. Not saying that's happening here but I've seen it when outlets have talked about it elsewhere. Ubisoft clearly wants us to forget it's Steep 2.0 and the games media seems happy to oblige.

I'm not sure why anyone would be overly optimistic about this game. Steep was an aimless mess where you had to create your own fun and this new rebranded version looks the same. In typical Ubisoft fashion they make a mediocre game and their first reaction isn't to tighten it up and polish it into a really tight, focused game, it's to add more stuff and make it bigger. Quantity over quality should be their company motto.

It could be great, idk. I'd bet on it being a bloated mess with a bunch of events scattered in a massive open world sloppily presented to the player to complete at their leisure. Which will be never because it's all a bit of a chore and the game gives you no real motivation to do so. But it'll have tons of online randos in funny outfits everywhere though so... cool

Lol. At this point it feels like less of a trend and more like every designer in the world lost all their talent at once and can only do the most basic, unimaginative design possible. It's a bloody terrible trend.

I wasn't a fan of the current one either though so it's not a huge loss in this case.

Re: PS Plus October 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

That's cool for Hell Let Loose. A game like that needs a strong player base to stand a chance. I think I have MKX and I've played 2k21 on a free weekend on xbox and wasn't a fan. I like a career mode where you gain stats and get better over time, 2k21 isn't like that unfortunately.

No way I'm giving them $30AUD for this. I'm not supporting this kind of money grabbing. Especially with how little content there is on PS5. They should be giving it away as a sorry for how terrible the library is this far into the consoles life.

Edit: they want $45 for the PS5 upgrade. Yeah, no way. They should have made the upgrade free. Charging for DLC is fair enough but putting an upgrade charge on top of that is preposterous.

Re: Dodgeball Academia (PS4) - Punchy Sports RPG Is Top Class

@Fenbops Yes! I've got that one on Switch. It's a lot of fun. It's not really straight golf though but still really good. I'm pretty sure they're currently working on a sequel which is actually tennis based.

I just want more of this kind of rpg sport games and from different creators. I love those classic GBC/GBA Mario golf/tennis games. Everybody's Golf on playstation as well. The modern Mario sports games on Switch all seem very disappointing unfortunately. Thankfully there's a couple of indies that clearly share my love for this style of game.

That tennis game is absolutely bloody awful. I honestly have idea how your reviewer gave it a 7. I don't care how little competition there is in the genre, a terrible game is a terrible game.

Edit: it was you Sammy! You must have been in a really generous mood or dying for a tennis game to play. I feel you on the last one. At this point I'd pay good money for a Top Spin remake.
