Re: Splinter Cell, The Division, Ghost Recon Crossover Game Leaks Ahead of Ubisoft Forward

SilkySmile89

It's a shame what they are doing to this franchise. The reason that the last game didn't do so well is because Sam Fisher wasn't Sam Fisher any more. The biggest mistake was to change Micheal Ironside as the voice of Sam Fisher. Like others said there is a big hole that needs to filled in stealth games. Already everybody is so fed up with open world games, especially from Ubisoft. Once my favorite developer, they really lost touch with their fan base, and they are continuing to disappoint fans with this kind of news (PoP including)

Re: PC Games Now Utilise PS5 DualSense Controller Features

SilkySmile89

It's not enough to have the hardware available for the devs. You need to have special API tailord for the hardware so the devs can implement this easily to their games. Probably Nintendo's software was not so strait forward and maybe that's why it was left for dead. I heard that Sony's implementation is really easy to work with. Devs will never spend extra on gimmicks if it's not strait forward. Remember PS3's CELL ?

Re: PS5 Sales Now Trending Above PS4 Launch Aligned in Japan

SilkySmile89

No body is in a hurry to buy games for 70$/70€. For example in East Europe where the avarage salary is around 400-500€ to pay these kind of prices for games is outrageous . And most people still trying to buy a PS5 (me included) at least after a raffle in Romania you are put on a waiting list when available you will be notified if u still want to buy.

Re: Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg Doesn't Think People Will Buy Wired VR

SilkySmile89

@AgentGuapo on Oculus they have internal processing so they don't need to send video/audio signal through . PS5 has USB 3.2 and that's 10gbs. A 2.0C HDMI has 18gbs so I don't think will be possible without a breakout box. Or at least the headset should come with a small signal splitter. The PS5 can already do 3Daudio so still possible without. Why oh why they didn't add a second HDMI port on the PS5. Cause they already had planned PSVR2. Or maybe when PSVR2 will come, PS5 slim with USB4 will be launching, same like they did with the first PSVR and PS4 slim/pro

Re: DIRT 5 Next-Gen Face-Off Is Favourable for PS5

SilkySmile89

@MPaulson custom is the way to go. Like @God_of_Nowt said before it has it's ups and downs but the end result will always be better. Sony apparently still has the best low level API out there, nothing on PC compares to that. Maybe Vulkan but it's not mainstream with developers and from what I understood, very difficult to code for. And most PC developers are working with DirectX for a long time and they will not make the transition so easily.

Re: DIRT 5 Next-Gen Face-Off Is Favourable for PS5

SilkySmile89

@God_of_Nowt I think also Microsoft’s approach to unify development of Xbox games and PC through DirectX scalability is a pour choice. We all know the results are much better when you have development tools breed for one hardware . Sony knows it, Apple knows it

Re: DIRT 5 Next-Gen Face-Off Is Favourable for PS5

SilkySmile89

The “inferior” hardware strikes again. When it comes to multiplat and you have a system like series S in your development, always GPU speeds will be more important, same as PC more cores doesn’t mean more performance. You need proper optimization to get the full potential and this doesn’t happen to often with 3rd party. Can’t wait to see what the other PS Studios do with PS5 later in it’s development cycle.

Re: PS5's First Firmware Update Is Available to Download Now

SilkySmile89

Very strange version number, sounds like a beta build honestly ). Or this kind of updates applies to more than just OS, maybe even firmware update for the I/O controller. I know that many people don't care about the technical part but would have been nice to get at least a link to check all changes that this update implies.

Re: Some PS5 Players Are Mistakenly Playing the PS4 Version of Cross-Gen Games

SilkySmile89

@God_of_Nowt yeah, at a hardware level I’m very impressed at what Sony managed to to, especially unloading all other constraints from the main chip (I/O decompression and even audio) and from a developer’s stand point still has a better low level API that can really squeeze everything from the system, in comparison with the triple OS and DirectX 12 on XBox. But it’s clear from a software stand of view PS5 was not ready to ship, and at some point they should have realized this and just work in parallel with 2 OS, especially if you say that the devkits are working on PS4 OS, ship with that cause it works, people will be happy about the new console not the UI.

Edit: look also at the PSStore website and app. Why change it if it’s not ready ?? Just to show people that you kept your promise and everything is changed ? Change is not always good.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Update Should Fix Major Seer's Solace Quest Bug

SilkySmile89

It’s not a Assassins Creed game if it’s not buggy. Really Ubisoft has transformed it’s self, in my eyes, from the best game developer to just a cash grab studio, getting really close to EA. Lost their focus with other titles. Prince Of Persia, Splinter cell, Beyond Good & Evil. They should just change their name in to “Open World Studios”

Re: Sony Considered Raising PS5 Game Prices Beyond $70, Says New Report

SilkySmile89

When you see games coming out on a yearly basis is hard to justify that this games have a big budget and costs have gone up (NBA 2K and soon maybe EA Sports also) and after paying the full price for the game is still full of MicroT. I think this yearly based games should just move to a Game as a Service. I understand to support developers which have been working for 3-5 years on a game but not those kind of games, they are not worth it. Also new game prices in Romania for ex is about 100$, I don’t argue with the price increase ... but the difference between $ € £ it’s not equal in any way.

Re: PS5 Doesn't Have a Web Browser

SilkySmile89

At this point I just wish Sony would’ve went with Microsoft’s approach and just launch with the same OS with some additional features. Clearly this year has proven difficult for Sony to launch PS5. They didn’t learn their lesson with PS4 ... luckily it plays PS4 games at launch.

Re: PSVR Action Game Blood and Truth Enhanced for PS5 Backwards Compatibility

SilkySmile89

@get2sammyb yeah it’s true but given that PSVR launched for PS4 ... what 2 years ago, they had plenty of time to launch it. They launched the PSVR AIM, awesome by the way, but they had more games to take advantage of new move controllers. If they want for PSVR to take off, they need to commit to it, still missing AAA games, most games on PSVR are glorified demos.

Re: PSVR Action Game Blood and Truth Enhanced for PS5 Backwards Compatibility

SilkySmile89

So the bottom line is that PSVR won’t get new games for PS5 but PS4 PSVR games can have patches for PS5. That’s just silly really. I don’t understand why Sony is so stubborn and don’t release a new set of move controllers with self tracking and movement controls the Head Set is still good, just held back by the PS4. Like usual Jim Ryan makes a mess of things and everything is so confusing. Really PS5 wasn’t ready to come out this year.

Re: PS5 Launch Trailer Tags Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank, Returnal for First Half of 2021

SilkySmile89

Would be nice if Santa Monica can keep December 21 fixed for GOW2. The last game took them 5 years to finiah, now this one will be 3 years. Either the development on PS5 is just a easy transition from PS4, either we will not see big improvements in graphics and the game will also be available on PS4 same like HFW. Having such a big install base on PS4 my guess is that GOW will be cross gen.
