Re: E3 2017: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Will Loot a PS4 Pro Update

ThomasOlano86

Witcher 3 is pretty much solid 30fps now anyway with Boost Mode enabled on Pro, even in swamps and Novigrad.

This was inevitable anyway, now that Xbox has it's own "Pro-style" platform we'll see a lot more cross platform games getting support for them. It just didn't make sense for CDPR to work on a patch for one console, knowing that Scorpio was still on it's way.

Re: Elite Dangerous Explores a Galaxy of Opportunity on PS4 This Summer

ThomasOlano86

@themcnoisy according the devs the PS4 game will include the "first season if Horizons DLC" as standard. So basically it will come with all the currently available DLC included. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I have the base game on Xbox One and was thinking about getting the DLC the other day but thought I'd leave it and wait for the PS4 release date. Looks like that was the right choice haha

Re: The Witcher 3 Sweeps Golden Joystick Awards 2015

ThomasOlano86

Couldn't agree more with this result. I voted for The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne in most categories but when it comes to GOTY and Best Studio, its got to be Witcher & CD Project Red for me
Wild Hunt is my all time greatest game, the first game I've ever loved more than Breath of Fire IV on PSOne 😂

Re: Destiny: The Taken King's Launch Trailer Promises Plenty of Plot

ThomasOlano86

@carlos82 like Mega-Gazz said, I've never understood the argument against its rewards and grind heavy gameplay. As I understand it, the game is built to be essentially a console MMO, so I went into it expecting lots of grind and little, incremental rewards.
I'm like you though, I played it for a while when it came out, really enjoyed it, then put it down and didn't look at it again for almost a year. I literally started playing it again two days ago. I enjoy it, but I don't know much about MMO style games so I'm certainly not qualified to speak too much about the mechanics of it all.
I just felt like some people were ready to hate it no matter what, but I suppose with a project this big and financially successful that's to be expected

Re: Destiny: The Taken King's Launch Trailer Promises Plenty of Plot

ThomasOlano86

I always felt bad for Destiny's story. The lore is there, and its fascinating and some of the stories are incredibly well-written, but they've buried it underneath that inconvenient and pointless Grimoire system.
They've tried to create an almost Dark Souls-esque narrative, and they've done a pretty good job of it, but they executed it so poorly that most people missed it entirely.
If they attached the lore entries to inventory items like they do in Dark Souls instead of making you ex out the game and go to a cometely separate website I think it would have gone a long way to silencing some of the games critics

Re: Guide: How to Beat the Blood-Starved Beast in Bloodborne on PS4

ThomasOlano86

@mitcHELLspawn all you need to do is immediately start spamming him with your firearm as soon you get up the ladder. He'll stagger backwards after a few shots and fall off the tower. Easy kill.
By now you've probably gone back and beaten him but if not, good luck. He's pretty hard of you plan on fighting him properly, but blast him off the edge and you'll get your echoes back

Re: Review: RIDE (PlayStation 4)

ThomasOlano86

There's one part of this review that really bugs me.
"... you'll always have a reason to take to the tarmac and burn Pirelli rubber."
The official tyre partner of the game is actually Metzeler, not Pirelli. But I only care 'cause I'm a huge goddamn nerd for bikes lol
Unfortunately, I've long ago learned to settle for Average-At-Best motorbike video games. This was set to be exactly the game I've always wanted (a Forza/Gran Turismo game but with bikes instead) and it seems to have fallen short, unsurprisingly.
I'll still be getting it though, I love bike so much that I'll play these Milestone games all year round, like FIFA

Re: First Impressions: Final Fantasy XV Has Massive Potential

ThomasOlano86

I'm more excited for FFXV then ever after playing Episode Duscae.
I've spent most of the weekend getting stuck into it and loved every minute. Getting stuck on my team mates and wrestling with the lock on system were lowlights definitely, not to mention the frequently choppy framerate when panning the camera out in the open, but I spent much more of time in Duscae marvelling at the surroundings and smiling at all the little nods to Final Fantasy fans.
I like the combat, it has a surprising scope for personalisation and it feels almost like Crisis Core's big brother, which isn't surprising given who's directing it.
I wouldn't recommend buying Type-0 HD just to play it though, unless you're also interested in Type-0, as it's just not long enough to warrant a £50+ price tag.
I'm really looking forward to FFXV now, if only just to see how the Regalia handles on those long l'Cie laden lanes

Re: Talking Point: Post Pictures of Your PlayStation Pressies

ThomasOlano86

@Cowboysfan-22 No worries dude. Yeah there is a multiplayer mode but as far as I know it's completely separate from the single player. You create a new character and have to complete combat missions with or against other players. There's a pay-to-win element involved from what I've heard but honestly I haven't even tried the multiplayer. Might be best to read a review or two for more details on that part of it mate

Re: Talking Point: Post Pictures of Your PlayStation Pressies

ThomasOlano86

@Cowboysfan-22 I honestly wouldn't advise getting Dragon Age if you're not into those kinds of games. It's a great game, I love it, but I feel like you may lose interest halfway through it's GARGANTUAN adventure if you're not interested in games like it.
Having said that, if you're open minded enough about it, what the hell. It's a fantastic game well worth playing

Re: Soapbox: Why P.T. Has Me Petrified at the Prospect of Silent Hills

ThomasOlano86

I really loved the whole thing but I wasn't scared by it after the first 20 minutes or so. I found myself painfully aware that I was playing a video game because of the random nature of the last puzzle.
So when I'm wandering around trying to figure out how to make something happen I'm more bored than scared.
Like I said though, I loved the experience and I'm sure that Silent Hills WILL be terrifying with few, if any, arbitrary win conditions
