Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has 2023's Most Essential PS5 Patch (So Far)

@KundaliniRising333 Its simple critics weren't with fussed Days Gone anyway while they love Jedi Survivor despite its issues. Most find if they like or love something enough its generally easy to overlook or not care for its issues, funny enough Destructoid said if not for its technical state they would have scored it a 10 instead of the 9 they gave it.

I mean look at Pokemon Violet and Scarlet they're even now still broken buggy games with poor performance yet the highs for it are so high for me i class it as one of the my favourite entries. I don't excuse the big issues but at the same time i like the game so much i've gone past the point of caring about them.

@dark_knightmare2 Elden Ring beats its side quest/content by far, the most popular ending of ER is a result of a long massive side quest that runs alongside the main quest. Horizon has a few well written quests big deal so does AC Odyssey and Red Dead 2.

I say Ubi blueprint because it has towers to reveal msp, endless enemy camps, endless collectibles, a bloated icon full map, a fake sense of options between stealth and combat and so on.

I will stick playing Horizon because i do like the series i just don't love it.

@Beerheadgamer82 Ubi invented the Ubi style of open worlds the style a lot of other games have copied heavily since Ubi started that style. Wanna know something funny? What BotW and Elden Ring did wasn't unique to them but because 95% of other open worlds all play the same those games felt new and refreshing despite the fact how they play was more common place prior to AC and FC3. FW is not that much different to FC5 in how its open world works and the types of content it gives you, that's not a good sign when FC5 was when people started getting tired of FC. Horizon gets by on its visuals and the machines as i've said, remove that stuff though and it would be thrown on the pile of forgettable open worlds that don't have 1 original idea between them.

@Titntin Ranged combat is great but melee is awful. Yeah the world of Horizon looks stunning and visually the games look better then anything else but it doesn't change the fact the games are designed like a Ubi game and don't actually do anything new beyond fancy visuals and a great enemy type. For two releases in a row they have released next to another open world game that changes the game and how open worlds are made and they really show how bland the Horizon series is beyond the visuals and the machines. This DLC for me has shown how tired i am of the format GG are using for its open worlds and how bland they are beyond a surface level. Pretty but shallow really describes Horizon.

@jmac1686 Well sorry i expected more from something that kept boasting how it "needed" the PS5 and is impossible on PS4. In the end its just more of the same except it now has these fancy clouds that we only notice because the Devs told us how "special" they are.

I really hope they switch up how they make Horizon's open world for H3 because they really do feel like Ubi worlds but in the most bland and most lazy way possible. After recently replaying FC5 its quite amazing how much Horizon rip off those games. To say the visuals and machines carry this franchise is an understatement.

@GreatAuk Yeah fun thing my comment didn't actually single out anyone, you saw it and took offence even though my comment was really just calling out everyone who was still going on about this tired subject of "Aloy isn't hot enough" because let's face it that's the issue here, its not about being too feminine or too masculine its the fact Aloy hasn't been designed too look like Lara Croft or whoever. You never seen this debate if a male character doesn't look gruff enough its only ever when a female character hasn't been made to look like the new favourite subject of Pornhub.
