Re: PS5 Architect Mark Cerny Adds Returnal's Platinum to His Collection of Prestigious Pots

The trophy system in this game is an effin JOKE thanks to RNG. I literally had to play 215 HOURS to get this ONE room in Crimson Wastes to spawn for the first time (I'm not even kidding) so that I could get my final xenoglyph cipher. (Yeah that's right, I deserve all the credit for my perseverance on that one.๐Ÿ˜‚) Finally got the Platinum yesterday, but the RNG and trophy system almost made me resent the game and the journey ...

Re: Aloy Trends As Fans Discuss Horizon Forbidden West Hero

Aloy always looked a little "boyish", for my tastes. But that's fine, we need to get over thinking women (or men, for that matter) can only portray one specific style or aesthetic ... Furthermore, boys โ€” and not fully matured males โ€” need to quit thinking women are only here to fulfill our sexual fantasies ...

@Loftimus "To all Americans: If all retailers in America started demanding $90 + tax for any (standard edition) ps5 game, would you pay it?"

LOL. But we (Americans) aren't paying $90, we're paying $70, up from $60. Ultimately, it is a 14% price hike in the US.

If you're currency is pounds, you went from 60ยฃ games to 70ยฃ games. With conversion rate, the price goes from 85 USD to 99 USD โ€” which, is still a 14% price hike.

So when you when you ask, Would I pay $90 for games now in 2021, the answer is YES, because when you factor in the conversion rate, we're coming from games that cost $85, not $70!

I never understood the strong backlash against this generation's $70 price tag, but will admit I come from a place of privilege: I chose not to have children, so I have disposable income. That said, I come from the era of the NES, where games cost (my parents) upwards of $50 - $60 โ€” which, after adjusting for U.S. inflation, is equivalent to around $112 - $135 now. (And I remember hearing the insane prices of NeoGeo games being as much as $300 a pop back then, or $613 now!!!) So $70 for a game now in 2021 is not a big deal at all to me. And we all know these games cost upwards of $1M and more for these game studios to develop games with high-end 3D graphics. And a game like [Returnal] was most definitely worth its $70 price tag, to me

Gaming was never a cheap hobby, it is a luxury. And most of the great games that we play go on sale within 6 months, if not see a sharp price cut by the end of the calendar year ...

Just my 2ยข ...

Re: Returnal Update 1.3.7 Arrives on PS5 Today, Here Are the Patch Notes

After 61 hours โ€” I know, far longer than most of you โ€” I finally rolled the credits yesterday! Had a ton of doubt that I'd be able to do it at all, so I am quite proud of myself

I just started a new run last night, and put it in rest mode, so I won't be installing the new patch until I die. That audio bug is most prevalent in the second biome, too :-/

10. This game wasn't even on my radar: I'm not a big third person shooter gamer, not huge on sci-fi, and the early gameplay looked repetitive. But this has been [the most fun] I've had playing any videogame in I don't know how long. I haven't even completed this game yet, I am taking my time, enjoying it. The story is intriguing, the atmosphere really makes me feel like I am all alone by myself on an alien planet, exploring the former and current society, and fighting to stay alive. The gameplay just has me hooked, I cannot put it down โ€” even after a lengthy run ends in a frustrating death, I end up taking off running for the first gate door out of the Helios to at least start yet another run. (Regardless of if it is 2AM on a work night!) I played a tiny bit of Resogun, but I'm not really familiar with this developer, but Housemarque really hit the mark with this one, for me. This game is an example of WHY I play videogames.
