Re: PS3 Emulation Allegedly in Production for PS5

eagletrippin

Ironically the PS3/360 era was the generation that I played videogames the least, because life. So I don't have too many fond memories or nostalgia for those games. But I hope Sony is able to get some kind of emulation going for those that do... That said I think buying an original PS3 on eBay is the best way to go — I would consider it, just to play old PS1 & PS2 discs...

Re: PS5's DualSense Dubbed the Best Controller of All Time in Public Vote

eagletrippin

@Fiendish-Beaver I've owned two Elite 2 controllers (my current, and the one I returned), and both controllers make distracting buzzing, whirring sounds every single time the motors rumble — it breaks the immersion. The rumble feedback isn't even on the same level of high-def'ness as the Dual Sense. Also, both the left & right analog sticks are way too "loose", reminiscent of the dual shocks 1, 2, and 3. And the analog triggers are way too soft and lack any resistance or stiffness. (Not to mention the triggers lack haptics.) Every time I play my Series X (FH5, for example), there feels like something is missing in force feedback during gameplay ...

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Currency Rewards to Be Increased Following Player Backlash

eagletrippin

Oh, but I thought we were all wrong and just whiners & complainers and that this would accomplish nothing? Further proof that if you love something, and others are doing things to ruin it and you just want to see it improved and restored back to glory, then SPEAK UP. Don't just sit there as blind, deaf, and muted monkeys, and make excuses for multi-billion and trillion dollar global corporations that merely reward their own execs & board members with these nickel & dime anti-consumer price increases and restrictions.
Like others have said, Now, time for Sony/PD to remove the always-online restriction...
It sucks, but as some have already voiced, the damage has been done. (Not me, particularly, as the gameplay itself is great and I will continue playing competively, but I will be weary of my favorite Sony exclusives going forward.) Hopefully, Sony can learn from this and not make the same mistakes in the future.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Fans Fight Controversial Currency Nerfs with PS5, PS4 Farming Exploits

eagletrippin

@naruball Sounds like a problem with game design, if you ask me. That there's not enough varied content in your game that rewards you sufficiently that you need to run the same race(s) over, and over, and over again. But, go on continuing to NOT condemn game makers for pushing MTX by blaming gamers for "whining", and continue to cape/fanboy for Sony — they need your support, now more than ever ...

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Fans Fight Controversial Currency Nerfs with PS5, PS4 Farming Exploits

eagletrippin

@PenguinL "The more they're accepted, the more likely Sony will be to expand them to other games. Whether they're optional is irrelevant if the game is designed to push you into buying them."
^^^This. And the "It's not a big deal, stop whining, you don't have to buy MTX" crowd doesn't help in getting this kind of stuff removed from games, and alleviates accountability from these game makers.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

eagletrippin

@lolwhatno Not arguing with you, we are in agreement. Just pointing out (to everyone), that technically, the game is unplayable whenever Sony/PD decides it is.

Modern_Vintage_Gamer on YouTube just did a GT7 video in which he alludes to the always-online nature of the game possibly being related to car manufacturer licenses expiring after so many years (see MS delisting Forza Motorsport 7 last year, and only being available to purchase via disc version). Possibly, DRM may be the way things will be going forward. Once those contracts expire, I'd imagine Sony/PD, for example, turning off those servers, and this game won't be playable at all (other than music rally🙄). The days of buying a game and being able to play it wherever & whenever you want may eventually be a thing of the past, unless people push back against it.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

eagletrippin

@lolwhatno Yeah, except the game is unplayable whenever Sony/PD has to perform "server maintenance". A week ago, it was down for 2 hours, after a long day of work, exercise, family, I just wanted to come home and play the game that I paid $90 for. Nope, you can only play the game when Sony/PD allows you to.

eagletrippin

@Hundred_Hand_Slap Oh, sorry, I misread your comment, thought you were going to purchase Returnal instead of GT7, but you already owned/platinum'd it😁 Same here! Got the plat, as well. I was basically still playing it on daily basis, keeping my skills "fresh", at least up until GT7 came out🙄 Time to get ready for getting my butt handed to me again & again with the new expansion😂

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Patch Restores Servers After 24 Hours, Polyphony Digital Comments on Microtransactions

eagletrippin

@Pat_trick I've always favored Sony's exclusives, and unique things like the Dual Sense. But I had been keeping an eye on what MS was doing since they botched the Xbox One announcement & release — and they did the things necessary to win players back since the release of the One X. I had always viewed them as sort of the evil global corporation. Meanwhile, Sony has been becoming this over the same time period. This GT7 fiasco — namely, the game that I paid $90 for only being playable when SONY/PD says I can play it — may be the impetus to me making most of my software purchases on my Series X instead ...

  • "I want to make GT7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars lots of different ways, and if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again." --- TRANSLATION: I don't want you to have to grind away for hours now that we've decreased prize winnings; therefore, I will save you by offering these credits you can buy!!!
  • Still no addressing of how your servers being down makes the game completely unplayable for single-player campaign. People have paid you $60, $70, even $90 to play a game, and yet, Sony/PD determines when you can actually play the game that you paid for.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Has Been Offline All Day

eagletrippin

@carlos82 Exactly. There is NO OTHER REASON to decrease payouts other than to slow people's progress and nudge them in the direction of paying for the cars & credits they want. The dev team had 6 YEARS to calculate what they deemed as fair compensation for winning each race/cup, and as soon as they learned that people weren't buying enough microtransactions, they went back and decreased the payouts to force the dilemma on customers of either taking extremely long times to grind it out for credits, or just pay for them.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Has Been Offline All Day

eagletrippin

@RubyCarbuncle Those people like to think they are a part of some group that has no displeasure about anything. Everything is fine, everything is all good! That stupid thing you spent your hard earned money on? Be happy with it as-is! These types of people, corporations absolutely LOVE...

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Has Been Offline All Day

eagletrippin

The microtransactions & decreased in-game payouts are bad. What is unacceptable, however, was making the game always-online and preventing everyone from simply playing the single player campaign while you work out "server issues". This isn't some PC free-to-play game — people paid $60, $70, and $90 for this. Shameful. And I won't be surprised if Sony does nothing about it. They couldn't care less, laughing all the way to the bank...

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.07 Available Now, Here Are All the Patch Notes

eagletrippin

Another night of not being able to play GT7 due to this maintenance 🙄

Anyways...Can anyone tell me, is there a way to return a car's settings back to their defaults? I did all lot of tuning to cars to get them under regulations, including modifying front & rear ride heights and downforce, but now I'd like to them to return to defaults. Is there not a way to do so???

Re: EA Play Members Get a New PS5, PS4 Game This Month

eagletrippin

I hope the new F1 2022 will actually have an updated, "next"-gen graphics model. The graphics are way too last-gen and the colors too cartoony, even. For now the few F1 tracks in GT7 along with the Formula Super car are excellent enough to hold me down for a little bit...
