Re: NBA 2K22 PS5 Gameplay Trailer Throws It Down

eagletrippin

I bought next-gen 2k21 --- looks amazing in trailers. This is the same old sluggish garbage. People say alot of bad things about Madden, and much of it rightfully so. But 2k shovels out the same rehashed stuff, as well. They just have a better reputation than EA ...

8. I agreed with Sammy, it's a "perfect" game — in regards to R&C games. New weapons, new adventures, next-gen graphics, utilizes next-gen hardware ... But for me, feels like an extension of 2016 R&C...which is not a bad thing either. I just don't feel the "newness" of a new experience such as Returnal, so I wasn't as hooked into this game.

@FakeUserName Sup ForUntoOblivionSoar, I'm on OS as well, under a different username. First of all, Agreed with your comment above about the far right crybaby club... But anyways, back to business. Man, I wish I was in on the beta. On OS, the feedback seems to vary about whether or not the game's momentum (I'm talking about player movement here) has improved. Many have said that player weight & speed seem to play out more accurately; while I've seen others say they still see big running backs at good speed get stopped in their tracks. What's your observation of the on-field product??? Thanks!

I'm interested. I'm not a yearly madden buyer; but a big football fan. And even when I do buy madden games, I buy a used copy so as to not support EA. That said, I did enjoy the gameplay of last year's game on next-gen consoles. Also the beta feedback I'm reading is that the game plays much slower, smoother, more fluid, and the onfield momentum is much better. (read: less arcade-y) Keeping an eye on the game developments, for sure...

Re: Returnal PS5 Patch 1.4.0 Out Now, 5.6GB in Size

@AgentGuapo Eh, I get the game save frustrations. Giving people the ability to save takes absolutely nothing away from the rogue-like experience. I've had to play until 2 or 3 in the morning just because if I placed my PS5 into rest mode, then I run the risk of my wife running her hair straightener in the morning which often times flips our breaker switch to our TV area in our house. I've put Retunral into rest mode before, and my PS5 didn't wake back up — had to do the hard shutdown, and rebuild the database. Can't rely on system-level saves, when from the PS5 launch, putting Spiderman into rest mode was breaking consoles ...

@render lol when I first booted up R&C I started on the highest difficulty. That area where you face 6 or 7 large enemies, died like 7 times😂 I took me a few days to die that many times in Returnal. I eventually had to turn down the difficulty to medium talk about humbling experience...

But still, Returnal due to its horror themed environments (versus the cartoonish, animated film environments of R&C), frightening enemies, and most importantly the whole 'Die, and start from the beginning' nature make it so much more intense. Any room you enter, could be your last ...

EDIT: And there is a major adjustment period after playing Returnal, because R&C is so much slower. Used being able to zip across rooms & maps in Returnal. Unfortunately R&C's dash move isn't nearly as good as Returnal's, lol

Not a Madden fan, and despise that they still own the exclusive NFL "simulation" license. But after taking a few years off, I thoroughly enjoyed M21 on next-gen (a better game than on PS4/XOne). Hope they can at least build on that game with more momentum-based physics, next-gen graphics overhaul, improved animations, and improved AI (that last one is a joke) ...

Wow. I didn't say a single thing about Sony rocking / Xbox sucking. I said it feels like Sony always praises Xbox and it's not reciprocated — just an observation from afar, if I was way off, then my bad. But all this "fanboy" talk — sheesh. Calm down, no need to build up that Strawman to such an immense height. Apparently, some of you just had your anti-fanboy rants ready to unload. Lol

@Icey664 I'm new to the genre, with Demon's Souls being my first game. So I admittedly lack the eye for spotting all the cool stuff, references to past games, etc.

But technically speaking I wasn't as blown away from the graphics in the trailer as I was with Demon's Souls PS5. The upload of Game Fest I watched wasn't the best quality, though.

My Top 5 Most Wanted PS5 System Features:
5. NVMe SSD support (I've been making it work by juggling games)
4. App folders (I have a heavy need for organization & order)
3. YouTube app update to support 8K video
2. "Quick Resume" feature (the thing about Series X i am most jealous about)
1. VRR support (smooth out those imperfect framerates)

Re: PS5 Architect Mark Cerny Adds Returnal's Platinum to His Collection of Prestigious Pots

@render Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE the game — I didn't expect to like it as much as I did when I bought it, and it turned out to be the most fun, engaging, and addictive game I've played in years. The high difficulty, no-save system I could deal with; but the trophy system based on RNG soured my trophy hunting experience.

Oh, and I'm not even one of the even-more unlucky ones who got their platinum denied by xenoglyph cipher glitches. I thought I got glitched --- xenoglyph's showed 90/90, yet biome 2 had 19/20 ¯(ツ)/¯ --- but I kept playing thinking that maybe I've had not gotten specific rooms yet, which it turns out I hadn't ...
