Re: Sony Posts Official The Last of Us: Part I PS5 Gameplay in Extended Look

eagletrippin

Looks amazing โ€” Day 1 for me.

If you aren't seeing much of an improvement visually, maybe don't watch this video on your cell phone or a 1080p computer monitor. Watch it on a 4k display.

Also...SONY's fault for always letting it get it to this point. Why wait & wait & wait to show your hand and open a window for leaks to come out? At least TELL US something is something is on the way. But, as always, Sony is gonna Sony ...

Re: Rumour: Sony Poised to Reveal 'Perfect for PS5' Gaming Monitors

eagletrippin

@Kidfunkadelic83 Yup, same here. Ironically that was one of my main gripes about OLED's, is it takes some level of "babysitting" in order to prevent burn-in. (Granted, there are some built-in features to help prevent burn-in, as well.) I love tech, though, so if I get burn-in again in a couple years, I'll be on the lookout for latest tech then (updated QD-OLED? or even micro-OLED?๐Ÿ˜ฒ)

Re: Rumour: Sony Poised to Reveal 'Perfect for PS5' Gaming Monitors

eagletrippin

@Kidfunkadelic83 I got burned(in) by OLED with the B6, so I had a healthy fear of buying that technology again. But after being disappointed with the Samsung QN90A, and not blown away by the Sony X95J, I bit the bullet and got the 55" C1. And I love it. To my surprise its brightness is on-par with the QLED's, and I decided that if I get burn-in again, well, then I'll be ready for the latest tech when that happens.

Re: Rumour: Sony to Announce a Premium Pro Controller for PS5

eagletrippin

@__jamiie "Maybe it was solely so they could charge for this 'premium' model."
I would understand that, as not everyone would make use of it, it would just add to their cost of manufacturing. Me personally I wouldn't use the back buttons as much, I think I would accidentally hit back buttons too often. But, a premium build with swappable thumbsticks, etc.? I'd pay for that.

Re: Take-Two Boss Believes New PS Plus Is the Right Approach to Subscriptions

eagletrippin

Cool to see an exec actually rationalize why it wouldn't work and break it down the way that he did.
I'm always pro-consumer, but people (this site) need to [accept] the fact that Microsoft has the money to take losses in order to gain subscriptions & engagements, by any means necessary. Sony just does not have the ability, so stop expecting them to try to compete with Game Pass...

Re: Sony Confirms PS Plus Subscription Stacking Has Been Blocked

eagletrippin

Glad I got in on the PS Now stacking when I did...

I'm usually one to slam corporations, but (unpopular opinion) I feel like Sony giving PS Plus Premium to (PS Plus + PS Now) subscribers even if their current PS Plus expiration date far exceeds their Now subscription, was a bit "generous" of Sony. (Say if your PS Now sub ends in 2 months, but you have 3 years of PS Plus remaining, then you are making out BIG!)
I can't be angry at Sony for it, when it's possible that people are paying for their lowest-level of service, yet receiving their highest-level of service ...

Re: EA Sports F1 22 Races onto PS5, PS4 in July

eagletrippin

Graphics engine is long in the tooth๐Ÿ˜– it's [been] time for an upgrade... And they overdo it on the atmospheric lighting in night races โ€” way too much "fog" and light pollution. I'd prefer more of a realistic look, like GT7 has...

No mention of a new 'Braking Point', which I am good with. The F1 Life mode sounds more interesting.

Re: Best Racing Games on PS5

@ILikeStake @BARO08 Agree that the omission of ACC on this list is a shame. Although I haven't played it since GT7 came out.๐Ÿ˜‚ Wish the ACC update didn't release the same time as GT...

@GoodGame Playing GT7 โ€” or any other sim-style driving game โ€” with a wheel & pedals takes the immersion to a higher level. If budget and space permits, I highly recommend.

Re: Sci-Fi PS5 Exclusive Returnal Sweeps the BAFTAs, Wins Best Game

eagletrippin

@naruball That is fair. A game won't hit every person the same way. Demon's Souls for me was a nice adventure, but the die & return to the start of the world thing did feel tortuous, to the point that I resorted to save-scumming (no shame here). However, Returnal, for whatever reason, I would play until 12am, despite having work early the next morning, after a 2-hour run ended in death, I'd find myself motivated to start another run immediately. For me, it was that fun, engaging. There aren't many games in my over 35 years of gaming that would hand my ass to me over & over again and I still had fun & liked the challenge. So beating the game and then platinuming it did provide a sense of accomplishment.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Patch 1.11 Available Now, Increases Rewards and Credit Cap

eagletrippin

1. In my two roulette spins from daily marathons, I received cars โ€” so it's already an improvement that had previously netted the least valuable reward nearly 100% of the time.

2. Still want to see weather conditions prior to going into a race; it's kind of useful information to know going into a race...

3. Interested if they programmed the 'dials' on the V2 wheel to adjust MFD settings...

4. Really want PD to consider taking the single-player campaign offline, but know that is a pipe dream, so kind of is what it is...

5. Really nice update. Let's keep it going.

Re: MLB The Show 22 (PS5) - Baseball Sim Plays Great But Doesn't Add Enough

eagletrippin

Played it for free on Game Pass yesterday, only played 3.5 innings, got bored, a real snoozefest, and went straight back to GT7 and Returnal. And I'll probably just delete it today, despite having ample storage space. lol. Other than the 60fps, not much different between this and MLB 18, the last game I purchased, and still the same stale graphics engine & animations from the PS3, two generations ago.
