I really hope that if something does indeed get announced, it's a showcase that gives a glimpse of hope for the PS5 generation's latter half — since we are somehow already halfway through this generation. A State of Play just won't cut it, even if it has some good reveals. The time is now to reveal what the 1st party studios are up to, even if their games are a ways out.
I hope to get some info on a few games that can re-excite the fanbase. Live service isn't my thing, so Concord and Fairgame$ do little for me. It'd be nice to see some combination (if not all) of Ghost of 2Shima, Wolverine, Bluepoint's new IP, a new Astrobot, and maybe a hint of Santa Monica, Bend OR Naughty Dog's game, even just a logo suits me.
But at the end of the day, they bought it, they should be able to do whatever they want with it (if deal is approved). It's certainly going to be bad for sony in short run long run what have you, but that's exactly why they bought it.
Although I'm choosing to stay patient since there are already more than enough games to play — this is exactly the type of cheeky thing Barlog would say the day before they drop a release date trailer.
Hopefully they're not delaying PS I Love You because of an Xbox acquisition. Kinda tired of acquisitions (especially the conversations that follow them).
Here's hoping for Spartacus, maybe a SoP, or my true hope: an actual full-fledged showcase announcing some games. There's nothing like seeing that PSstudios logo pop up.
@Malmall20 Understood. I was never one to mention "just play on pc" or whatever. My point is — it's expensive to play on a good PC. A phone would definitely be cheaper but may not be the best place to play especially with ***** internet (usually for low income gamers). Buying an expensive PS5 is a choice/investment, even for low-income people.
Now, for specific people who only have a PS4/PS5, they'll have to figure out a way to shell out more $ somehow to play the games they thought they were going to be able to play when they made their investment.
Sad day for low income gamers who can't afford more than one console. I'm all for exclusives but it shouldn't extend to a company as big as this (I felt the same for the Bethesda deal).
I recall everyone being up in arms over Spiderman being exclusive for Avengers or even comparing Bethesda's deal to Insomniac's — but then these sorts of deals are treated celebratory by most of the media.
I can't imagine any show that brings KOTOR, Wolverine, Spider-Man 2, GOW:R - as a letdown (for me personally, of course).
I get the focus on the absentees, I do. It's a bit frustrating not knowing what's going on at most of these other studios - but it's also super exciting to think that 2022 could be HFW, GT7, GOW:R, Forspoken - and maybe FF16? - along with whatever ND, Bend, PixelOpus, London, BluePoint, etc. are doing.
What was missing made this presentation even more enticing.
I'm hoping for GOW2 reveal - either trailer or gameplay or anything. And then at least two new things, don't have to be big, but I'd like to know what comes after the known quantities.
Realistic, cause rumors and scuttlebutt-- MGS remake from Bluepoint and maybe a new From Software exclusive?
Dream predictions-- Something Sly or Jak related and/or Sony Bend tackles a Wolverine game or reveal new IP
As a lukewarm fan of all things Bethesda except for Dishonored, I'm not too worried about Sony. I hear this argument that MS's 1st party lineup is now somehow better than Sony's - but I don't see it.
Sony just needs to keep running their own race. More transparency would be nice, more consistent updates as well, but you get what you get.
I always thought it'd be nice if Sony laid out their gaming years a la Marvel's phases. Give us an outlook on PS5 Phase One, even if it's only logos and tentative release dates.

Re: Microsoft Says PS5, PS4 Would Still Be Bigger if Every Call of Duty Player Switched to Xbox
@NateGoesLive me too but I can see crash/spyro going to switch as well.

@KaijuKaiser Totally understand and agree.

Sick of hearing about cod. I prefer mahi mahi.
If this is the only path for me to get a new resistance or killzone, then let Microsoft have it.

Re: Sony Acquires Haven Studios, the New Developer Led By Jade Raymond
Kind of hoping Ember Labs and Sloclap are next.
Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?
I'm not a fan of a hypothetical consolidation war, but if it's going to happen, it'd be nice if Sony started participating.
Re: These Are the Franchises PS5, PS4 May Lose to Activision Blizzard Buyout
Crash and Spyro are the only ones there that hurt. Grew up on those. Hopefully stay multiplat (unlikely) or are ported to switch.

Re: Talking Point: Did You Enjoy Sony's Latest State of Play Livestream?
Just sort of felt unnecessary more than bad or good. Most of these could have been blog posts or individual trailer reveals.
LDI looks intriguing though. And I'm excited for death's door.
Re: State of Play Announced for 27th October Featuring Third-Party Games on PS5, PS4
Expectations are checked, but perhaps something from the square triumvirate of FFXVI (maybe), FFVIIR2 (not likely), or Forspoken (probably).
Stray and Little Devil updates would be nice. Just hoping for something exciting and/or new.
Re: PS4 Exclusive God of War Releasing on PC in January
Good for PC gamers. I don't see how anyone would have an issue with this, the game's almost 4 years old in Jan.

Might they be teasing a black PS5 console?
Re: Bethesda Apologises to PS5, PS4 Fans 'P*ssed' at Exclusivity
I know I'm naïve in holding out hope that Indiana Jones may come to Sony somehow, maybe after XB timed exclusivity.
Never really cared for Bethesda Games tbh, especially the mainline Fallout/TES - only ever played Dishonored, which was pretty great.
Re: Reaction: What Next for PlayStation?
Also, the only thing I'm upset about losing is a potentially good Indiana Jones game. Really hoping that deal was preexisting but I'm not too sure.
