Re: Poll: What PS5 Information Do You Want Most?

gingerfrog

I only want to know if my ps1 and 2 discs will work. If they don’t no drama I’ll get the disc less version. But I kinda want to know this before I preorder as other than that I don’t need a disc drive as all my gaming this gen has been downloaded via the store and I already have a decent UHD player.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 329

gingerfrog

I’m not getting the last of us 2 until I’m off work in a few more weeks to give it the time it deserves. Been playing a lot of psplus games of late I couldn’t believe how much I liked Detroit become human after going in slightly sceptical. Then the exact opposite with shadow of the colossus which I found incredible slow and boring. Probably going to start the Lego game we got free the other week. Not played one since ps2 days so hoping the years of experience the developer has had makes for a fun game

Re: PS5 Digital Edition Exists for Consumers Who 'Purchase Solely Digitally'

gingerfrog

@Sb2020
I think if you’re putting a disk in and you have to install it makes no difference to me you’ll still need to download update patches so will need internet working. As for ps store holding us to ransom on inflated prices. It’s not going to happen in a free market. People will just choose Xbox, Steam or Epic store and switch entirely to another console. Most players aren’t as committed to a brand as us on sites like this and will happily switch brands at the next console change. Especially if they feel they have been slighted by the company. I believe prices will go down through competition and not having to be contractually obliged to not under cut brick and mortar stores as they currently are. Price will be the new battle ground.

Re: PS5 Digital Edition Exists for Consumers Who 'Purchase Solely Digitally'

gingerfrog

I’ll be getting the all digital version. I certainly wouldn’t have said this a few years ago. But I haven’t bought a physical game in years. I also already own a good UHD player. I just prefer the lazy option. It not like you won’t have to instal all discs and run patches to play anyway. Not sure anything will convince me to buy physical again if the price doesn’t bother me now I’m not sure what else will change my mind

Re: Rumour: Far Cry 6 Reveal Coming Next Month, Planned for Early 2021

gingerfrog

@playstation1995
I agree the gameplay loop is just fun and I’ve enjoyed all iterations. My biggest gripe with 5 was within an hour of gameplay I had a silenced sniper, silenced shot gun and silenced LMG. There was no challenge at all with the game. Added to that you could pretty much have 2 AI characters with you at all time. I just hope to have more challenge in 6. Even in 4 by halfway you were indestructible but I want a better challenge. Having said all that I’ll definitely be getting it as it’s great dumb fun. Also hoping next gen no issues with skydiving and flying frame rates they were choppy at best

Re: Your First Look at PS5 Will Be in 1080p, 30 Frames-Per-Second

gingerfrog

@Grimwood
That’s a strange statement. I’m not sure if you’ve seen a good 4K tv and done any direct comparison. I personally have flicked between the resolutions on my 4K OLED tv and the difference are really clear and obvious . Not sure that makes me dumb. Maybe just better eye sight than you. I guess on a phone or a cheap set people might be clutching at straws to notice a difference. But on a 55inch screen the difference is night and day.

Re: June 2020 PS Plus Game Is Available to Download Now on PS4

gingerfrog

@JorbNorb
Correct. The map design alone makes for much better faster gameplay. I can’t say how much I dislike modern warfare going into any room and just have someone sitting on a box by the door with a 1 hit shotgun. It’s the slowest camping cod I’ve played. Looking forward to going back into WWll and having some fun.

Re: Can't Download PS4 Games and Updates - Why Does Your PS4 Say It Doesn't Have Enough Hard Drive Space When It Does?

gingerfrog

I grabbed myself a 4TB USB hard drive this and the 1TB you get with the pro has given me all the space I’ll need to have instant gaming and all updates installed. It helps as I haven’t bought a physical game for a good few years now. I enjoy the convenience more than owning physical copies. I even got the 64GB card for the vita with no physical games makes this such a convenient handheld. I’ll never settle for a small hard drive again if it’s an option

@Boucho11
😂 Think your taking 2020 to seriously, I'd just love it to be the case. played my ps1 games so much when I was a teenager. If I could upload my saved data to a game like rage racer I think the dev would drop to 1 knee and present me with a personal trophy. As without online being a thing they never new I was king 😂

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass Progression Is Suspiciously Slow

gingerfrog

@Flaming_Kaiser
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, I'm just not into cosmetics and every blue print you can make the exact same gun with the attachments you unlock with the exact same stats, and you can make much better versions of all the guns. But to each the own. I appreciate your reasoning. Now if you said the actual game was awful this year because of the map design and the perks slowing down gameplay and rewarding camping then we'd be agreeing.
Edit. And I'm not saying I like the battle pass and I won't be buying it. Just that I seem to be getting more for my money this year as I get all the maps and guns and don't have to spend a penny more

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass Progression Is Suspiciously Slow

gingerfrog

@Flaming_Kaiser
Not sure if I miss read your reply, but the new wepons aren't in the paid for battle pass. They are also unlocked after about 5 hours and 10 hours and available to everyone. So I guess if consumers are playing under 2 hours a week they're not that into it anyway so probably don't care. Which must be better than map packs you literally had to pay for the same price as the game again. I'll get every map and gun for free. And if you are into cosmetics, you can buy the first Battle Pass, and by completing it you'll have earnt enough cod points to get the next battle pass for free. So still spending much less than buying map packs. As you only have to buy 1 to get all of them.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass Progression Is Suspiciously Slow

gingerfrog

@Flaming_Kaiser
Yeh more like 75 hours over 2 months, personally I didn't bother with the battle pass as I don't have that much time to invest. But on a positive the 2 weapons which are stat changing new weapons are both available really early on so even people who don't play often can unlock them easily. I know your not interested from your comment but for me it's the lesser of 2 evils I get every weapon every map and mode, but miss out on cosmetics that I'm not interested in so I'll not be spending any extra money but still have the full game. So it's definitely their best effort so far for the community that do play it.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass Progression Is Suspiciously Slow

gingerfrog

Was playing this afternoon 200 hours is way off. Its based on time spent in game matches I was doing over 1 per hour so less than half this quote. I haven't bought the battle pass so not fussed. Everyone can get the free guns and maps. And the guns are unlocked early on. So I'm happy. But as for the game I'm not enjoying as much as the more recent faster games. To much camping and hiding in corners with shot guns. Black ops 4 rightfully got a lot of criticism, but it moment to moment gun play was exceptional

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Follows the Trend with Battle Pass Focused on Cosmetics

gingerfrog

@themcnoisy
I kinda get what your saying, but for me as someone who never spends an extra penny on any game I'm going to enjoy the free maps and content updates, the amount of modes lauching, with campaign, standard multiplayer, 2v2 which have 7 separate maps at launch. The 50v50 ground war that has 3 separate maps at launch, Special ops mode that's looking really good plus all future maps guns and perks coming in free updates I'm happy to try the new format. I think I'll be getting a complete game. I've never thought of this game lacking content. I think some of the new ideas are great. Also this time each gun, camo and ranking can be levelled up in any mode which will give me more chance of convincing friends to try other modes.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 293

gingerfrog

I'm about 2 thirds the way through farcry 5, been really enjoying the game but not as much as 4 or 3 before that. My biggest issue is much like the previous games it doesn't take too long to be overpowered and nothing seems to scale with you. Which is such a shame as its a beautiful game just with no real challenge. But that being said I'll definitely be finishing it but maybe add some of my own challenges like no silenced, sniper and shotgun. No armour piercing ammo. Who knows there's a lot of fun still to be had though.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on the PS5, Now That More Details Have Been Revealed?

gingerfrog

@YozenFroghurt
Thanks for the support. My wife won't let that happen, and to be fair I want her to have a stress free time she's going to be doing an economics and French degree for 4 years so that's pretty tough. It's only going to get worse my other daughter is on track to get grades to do her doctors degree in a couple of years and that's 6 or 7 years. 2 daughters 11 years of uni fees not sure whether to be proud or cry 😂.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on the PS5, Now That More Details Have Been Revealed?

gingerfrog

I'm really looking forward to getting mine. But sadly I may have to wait till the following April. As my daughter will be starting university so I'll be broke for 4 years. But every April I'll get my bonus so can quickly spend some of it before my wife notices. I know I need to man up but hey happy wife happy life and all that. It will be the first ps console I've not got day one except the psp which I didn't bother with. Here's hoping things go better than I forsee.

Re: PS5 Aiming for Super Fast Game Downloads

gingerfrog

@OscarHTX
Was going to say the exact same thing. I'm lucky enough to have 200mb fiber, I can download in no time but copy and installation is heart breaking it just goes on for so long. That's the number 1 thing I want fixing next gen as I'm pretty much 100%digital gaming the last 3 or so years

@Neolit
Thanks for the kind words. It's funny because of my dyslexia and age I'm not on any social media because I know my typing often sounds out of context. This is literally the only place I write on. It's funny even at work where I manage a couple of supermarkets I've had to stop replying to messages because when I try to be funny it never comes across right so I just phone in my replys.

Re: Soapbox: How Sony's Server Shutdown Rallied Naughty Dog Fans into Trophy Hunting Action

@Neolit
That went bad fast. I blame my dyslexia, I thought you'd done a quote from a monty python film and thought it funny that it appeared someone else had down voted you. I gave you an up vote as I thought you were quoting the holey grail monty python. When the French knights were insulting the British nights. Sorry for any confusion I genuinely thought I was finishing your quote.
Also I'm the opposite of a millennial om really old

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for October 2019?

gingerfrog

Well I already have the last of us, but it would be nice to have a digital copy as I've not bought physical copies of games for a good few years. I'm not fussed about getting MBL 19. I almost never play the plus offerings as I've generally already bought the ones I want before. At least with this game I'll be able to play with my nephew when he's round. So might get some use from a game I'd otherwise never have bought
