I feel like I'm echoing many people here. I to am going to drop to essential in January. I've given it since launch to change my mind. I just haven't been using it. For with not having time to play the few I'm interested in has made it's value proposition pointless to me. I'm not saying there aren't good games to play. But I seem to have played or owned the ones I'd be interested in. Not played one since Guardians of the galaxy. Would have been cheaper just to buy it outright. Still. Seems a good deal if I was a student or had a low stress job or no wife and family spend time with.
@TheDudeElDuderino I was of the exact same thought as you. Something I could never be interested in. Then I had an operation 6 weeks ago that would put me on my back for a while. So in the weeks notice before the op I grabbed one and got it set up. I'm so grateful it was released. I cannot explain how well it has worked over my home WiFi (I do have the PS5 hardwired and 1Gb fiber). I understand this makes me pretty niche. Although I will use going forward for single player games from time to time. I completed and Ghost of Tsushima and had no issues. The only game I could not play was online COD with friends when I wanted to have a more social experience. When back to work I usually spend a couple of nights in hotels. So looking forward to trying it out and hoping it saves me for converting too much money into beer tokens. I will add. My wife who hasn't touched a game for years. Has been playing a lot of the old classics she once played on Amiga. Like Rainbow Island and New Zealand story. She's really been enjoying a daily play. Something she'd have never have done if it was not on a handheld. Too me it feels like a premium kit. And I'm happy that current circumstances have got me to buy one, as I doubt I ever would have otherwise and it will definitely get used. I guess the value is where you see the use. I'm on my way to being 50 with adult kids, so price is not as important than it may be for some so I believe I have value. But if you can't see a use for yourself or family then it is of no value.
@JalapenoSpiceLife Haha, accusing me of spending most my time here while you get on with life 😂. I've made 17 comments in 2 years. 3 of which are now shining a light on you. Best you have a look at your comments.
@JalapenoSpiceLife I don't buy it. I think you've spent to long in the echo chamber. It's probably time to let some fresh air in. Carry on being the knight you are. It's fun for us to watch.
@JalapenoSpiceLife
Nice grandstanding, perhaps it's your thought process that needs reviewing. I too wouldn't feel comfortable playing Infront of my 19 & 22 yo daughters as they would not have the background knowledge to know the type of game it is.
But I guess you just want to be a knight for the damsels in distress
I had the PS4 pro. And would happily get this if I could see the difference enough to care. Diminishing returns on investment. I'll just wait for the ps6
@Arkz
This is almost exactly what I was going to say. I got the PS4 pro and it made a big difference on my Oled TV id just brought. I think the returns on the pro 5 won't be worth the effort of getting and setting up. Sony don't deserve the money from me this time either. The depth of games I like have diminished so much this generation.
I got my self a PS Portal last week. That's going to come in clutch as I had an operation a couple days ago and bed ridden for 6 weeks at home. I'll stick with this being the only extra innovation I need this generation.
@thefourfoldroot1 If you just want to play through the once. I did with a mate when it came out. We had a nostalgic laugh. I think 1½ hours if my memory serves me
@Archangel7704 I'm not sure it would have taken you to long to search and see they have already completed the year one content and are working on year 2
I've not played a need for speed since I got the platinum on Rivals. Through Ps plus and the like I've now got every NFS since. I'm hoping to give one a go and got the itch for an arcade racer. Is this unbound the best since or are any of the others better?
Well as other people have used to word cynical, I'm going to be super cynical, this is basically virtue signalling and will achieve nothing and raise no extra awareness than what people already know and believe. Please Sony spend my game money on making more games I'm bored. And I want another linear game just like Uncharted 2. With nobody moaning it's not realistic if they have to kill 850 people and can shot down helicopters. Whatever happened to escapism. Bring back ps3 games they rocked. ...... Whoops rant over
I've played most Sony games over the years but after playing spider-man I'm not sure I can play the sequel. The busy work was too much for me and made me hate the game by the end. I'd much rather a new Ratchet and Clank game.
Strangely the first thing I thought when I saw the title was. As long as it has nothing to do with Cocoon the movie. As that was such an awful film when I was young
Do t sleep on COD Great campaign Great fun zombies Multiplay is very Serviceable go LC10 with street sweeper secondary and just run and gun success guaranteed
@Anke Isn't that the point. Their metric for measuring if pice hikes are an issue or not is probably measured around if they're raking it in or not. So if they're raking it in, for them it's obviously not an issue.
@cragis0001
Rightfully or wrongfully a economic downturn does not affect everyone so I'm sure there's still growth to have if at a slower rate. I would say like others in gaming, time is a more precious commodity than value. As in I'd rather pay more to play what I really want than play average games
@djlard @Mintie That's not a fair summary and you are stating opinions as fact. JKR was someone who suffered abuse and want to protect females from males and ensure no matter what safe spaces for women and girls are protected.
So pleased it will not be open world. Makes this a must have for me. I'm on the fence over the next Spider-Man game. I bounced pretty hard off the last game I got so bored with the boring side quest. Loved the actual story campaign though
Not for me.
And how can a month with so many of the same game be celebrated. Couldn't we have 1 assassin creed a month and then something different for us folks who don't care for the franchise
A few concerns,first I don't want to pay for maps. secondly if we do it will split the player base. And thirdly I don't want to play Treyarch maps with infinity ward mechanics. As it will ruin the experience for me. I never enjoy infinity ward CODs as much as Treyarch. Let the next black ops use their own classic maps
I remember when the initial leak about its existence from Jason Schrier came up it seemed like a big part of it was employee retention at Naughty Dog. Part of the team were working on the multiplayer TLOU game, the next single player project was/is in the planning phase, so they had to have something for the rest of their team to work on or risk highly talented people leaving or having to let them go. I think it was initially being developed somewhere else as a PC port, but they moved it to Naughty Dog proper to give them something to do.
Having just watched the Uncharted film last night for the first time I was hoping for something related. I never wanted a Uncharted 5, but now after so long since the last game I'm kinda hoping for one soon.
I haven't enjoyed these last 3 very much. The disbanding lobbies, no map voting and awful match making makes every game a chore. It's old social aspect is all but ruined by disbanding lobbies. It used to be fun having banter with the same people over a few games, then making friends the old fashioned way of having a laugh together. Playing with my clan is great but not everyone is on at the same times. Why they have made it so hard is beyond me
I really can't decide, I've not turned my ps5 on for a few weeks now. And I'm off to Mexico Tuesday, but my wife is at friends all weekend so it's a perfect opportunity to get some gaming in. I may give Crash 4 a go or a few other smaller games like R-Type that's on ps extra currently.
I mean I may play the campaign from marvel Avengers, so that would be enough for me with Crash coming with essential this month. I'm happy with 1 game a month to play. I'll still be buying games I want. I get a bit worn out on gaming if I play games I don't really want to just because they're available. It becomes a chore.
@nessisonett Fair enough I appreciate your opinion. Personally I don't really find offence in anything and happy to laugh at myself and others in equal measures. How about the option to be able to self censor at the menu to taylor the game to your needs allowing others to have the experience they choose. I can't think of any direct examples but No More Russians in MW2 allowed people to bypass the things they felt weren't appropriate for themselves.
@nessisonett
I get where you're coming from. But PlayStation has games for everyone, but not every game is for everyone.
I honestly think as a crime simulator of sorts. It should not have to hold back on anything. There should not be censorship to please anyone just remain legally compliant for its country of release. The whole GTA series is born out of controversy. Let us be adults and buy what we want. If I don't like something I don't buy it.
Or maybe a compromise would be to have some sort of filter for self censorship
Good for me, I think crash 4 will be the first plus game I play in over a year. (I'd obviously played some previously that I'd bought before they came on plus). So I'm happy with the choice.
@Dezzy70 I guess I'm older than you. But I went from a pong machine to a Sega master system. Now that's a proper generation upgrade. The diminishing returns of generations certainly takes some of the excitement away from me. This generation having the least notable differences.
Only £13 till mid November for the upgrade. So even though not a huge amount I'm interested in that I don't already own. It's still a no-brainer for me. And the mid tier is probably where I'll sit going forward.

Not for me. I'm waiting patiently for Thunder force IV. One of my favourite games when I was young. Really pushed the mega drive.
