Re: Huge List of 18 Major Games to Leave PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Month

gingerfrog

I feel like I'm echoing many people here. I to am going to drop to essential in January. I've given it since launch to change my mind. I just haven't been using it. For with not having time to play the few I'm interested in has made it's value proposition pointless to me. I'm not saying there aren't good games to play. But I seem to have played or owned the ones I'd be interested in. Not played one since Guardians of the galaxy. Would have been cheaper just to buy it outright. Still. Seems a good deal if I was a student or had a low stress job or no wife and family spend time with.

Re: One Year On, Plucky PS Portal's Sales Remain Strong

@TheDudeElDuderino
I was of the exact same thought as you. Something I could never be interested in. Then I had an operation 6 weeks ago that would put me on my back for a while. So in the weeks notice before the op I grabbed one and got it set up. I'm so grateful it was released. I cannot explain how well it has worked over my home WiFi (I do have the PS5 hardwired and 1Gb fiber). I understand this makes me pretty niche. Although I will use going forward for single player games from time to time. I completed and Ghost of Tsushima and had no issues. The only game I could not play was online COD with friends when I wanted to have a more social experience. When back to work I usually spend a couple of nights in hotels. So looking forward to trying it out and hoping it saves me for converting too much money into beer tokens.
I will add. My wife who hasn't touched a game for years. Has been playing a lot of the old classics she once played on Amiga. Like Rainbow Island and New Zealand story. She's really been enjoying a daily play. Something she'd have never have done if it was not on a handheld.
Too me it feels like a premium kit. And I'm happy that current circumstances have got me to buy one, as I doubt I ever would have otherwise and it will definitely get used. I guess the value is where you see the use. I'm on my way to being 50 with adult kids, so price is not as important than it may be for some so I believe I have value. But if you can't see a use for yourself or family then it is of no value.

Re: Despite Price Point, Analyst Firm Expects PS5 Pro to Sell Like PS4 Pro

@Arkz
This is almost exactly what I was going to say. I got the PS4 pro and it made a big difference on my Oled TV id just brought. I think the returns on the pro 5 won't be worth the effort of getting and setting up. Sony don't deserve the money from me this time either. The depth of games I like have diminished so much this generation.
I got my self a PS Portal last week. That's going to come in clutch as I had an operation a couple days ago and bed ridden for 6 weeks at home. I'll stick with this being the only extra innovation I need this generation.

Re: PlayStation Has Helped Plant Over Half a Million Trees in the Last Year

Well as other people have used to word cynical, I'm going to be super cynical, this is basically virtue signalling and will achieve nothing and raise no extra awareness than what people already know and believe. Please Sony spend my game money on making more games I'm bored. And I want another linear game just like Uncharted 2. With nobody moaning it's not realistic if they have to kill 850 people and can shot down helicopters. Whatever happened to escapism. Bring back ps3 games they rocked.
...... Whoops rant over

@djlard @Mintie
That's not a fair summary and you are stating opinions as fact. JKR was someone who suffered abuse and want to protect females from males and ensure no matter what safe spaces for women and girls are protected.

Re: The Last of Us Was 'Ahead of Its Time', Sony Wanted 'Definitive Version'

I remember when the initial leak about its existence from Jason Schrier came up it seemed like a big part of it was employee retention at Naughty Dog. Part of the team were working on the multiplayer TLOU game, the next single player project was/is in the planning phase, so they had to have something for the rest of their team to work on or risk highly talented people leaving or having to let them go. I think it was initially being developed somewhere else as a PC port, but they moved it to Naughty Dog proper to give them something to do.

Still, it should have been £35 tops.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusive Modern Warfare 2 Beta Begins 16th September

I haven't enjoyed these last 3 very much. The disbanding lobbies, no map voting and awful match making makes every game a chore. It's old social aspect is all but ruined by disbanding lobbies. It used to be fun having banter with the same people over a few games, then making friends the old fashioned way of having a laugh together. Playing with my clan is great but not everyone is on at the same times. Why they have made it so hard is beyond me

Re: GTA 6 Needs to Exceed Players' Expectations, Rockstar Admits

@nessisonett
Fair enough I appreciate your opinion. Personally I don't really find offence in anything and happy to laugh at myself and others in equal measures. How about the option to be able to self censor at the menu to taylor the game to your needs allowing others to have the experience they choose. I can't think of any direct examples but No More Russians in MW2 allowed people to bypass the things they felt weren't appropriate for themselves.

Re: GTA 6 Needs to Exceed Players' Expectations, Rockstar Admits

@nessisonett
I get where you're coming from. But PlayStation has games for everyone, but not every game is for everyone.
I honestly think as a crime simulator of sorts. It should not have to hold back on anything. There should not be censorship to please anyone just remain legally compliant for its country of release. The whole GTA series is born out of controversy. Let us be adults and buy what we want. If I don't like something I don't buy it.
Or maybe a compromise would be to have some sort of filter for self censorship
