Re: Destiny 2 Is Still Making Activision a Crazy Amount of Money

gingerfrog

I guess giving away the base game for free on psplus a couple of months back paid off. I enjoyed what I played but I can't justify the time investment. As I like a bit of variety in my gaming time. If I didn't have a stressful job, wife and kids to think of I'd be all over it. The shooting mechanics are beautiful

I love the way you assume people are cheapskates who can't afford to buy the premium addition. Maybe it has to do with their last game being awful. The tenancy for their games to drop in price rapidly, and however its dressed up an incomplete game at launch. We can all use quotes to argue our side. A fool and his money are easily parted.

Re: Talking Point: What's the Background Behind Your PSN Username?

Got gingerfrog for parties in the mid 90's when we used to have massive parties and to to many chemical drugs in a consequence free era of my life. We were all pretty mashed back then and it stuck. The weirdest part is Im not ginger or have anything to do with frogs but it has stuck for over 20 years. And now grown up married with teenage daughters I leave out the taking drugs part when explaining. Because as it turns out they certainly aren't consequence free and I don't want my kids to know exactly what I got up to when I was a raver.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - The Best CoD of the Generation

@Tasuki
Sorry if I wasn't clear their main ability attached to R1+L1 is only coming up once per game, sometimes not at all in quick multilayer matches. Their secondary attached to R1; like razor wire, flash bangs, grenade come up a few times with cool down. These are ofter replaced with normal grenades and concussion grenades. Anyway the point I was trying to make was that this feels like a cod not an overwatch to me, but everyone will have different opinions. If you get a chance to play it give it a try you may be pleasantly surprised. Trayarch make great multilayer games.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Sinks to 11 Year Low at Retail

I know I'm just 1 person, but this is the first switch I've made to digital in the series. Having got a 4tb hard drive last year I'm Probably not going to pick up any physical games again. Purley driven by laziness And the hoping that they'll all transfer to the ps5 and beyond when they subsequently release.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 241

gingerfrog

I'll be putting time into black ops 4. I know my love of all things shooting from back in the 80's upto today is not the cool thing but I'm really loving it. It plays so well. I've never spent a penny on any shooters so called pay to win mechanics and I've always faired well. And as always with cod games the best guns and perks are pretty much available right away as the first ones. Anyway for those that care there's easily enough content to warrant a purchase in a well polished balanced game.

Re: Hands On: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Is One of the Best Multiplayer Games This Generation

gingerfrog

I'm having great fun with it, it's very fluid and seems well balanced. Only had a chance to play core team deathmatch. I'll be playing this mode for a while before I try blackout. Don't think I'll miss the campaign, I always played them even though only 9% of people completed the campaign. It seems they've focused where the community wanted the game focused. There's still a massive amount of top quality gaming to be had.

Re: Poll: If PSN Name Changes Are Really Happening, Will You Change Yours?

gingerfrog

gingerfrog may sound awful to some, but I got the name in the 90’s at parties doing far to many disco biscuits with friends. I’m neither ginger or a frog. but smashed people come up with great stuff and the name stuck. Also now I’m 42 with teenage kids it’s nice to remember a time when I had crazy nights with a consequence free future

Re: Hands On: Dreams Is Going to Be a Game of the Year Candidate

@rjejr
I was thinking it would work better as a launch title or early in the generation. Purely because it will give the players more time to create the great games for people to play over that generation. They’ve clearly missed the beginning of this generation so maybe it’s worth hanging on now. Rather than releasing in the PS4 twilight years.

Re: Hands On: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout Gives Fortnite Stiff Competition

@stevenfins
I agree Trayarch always make a a great multiplayer game. People may not like the brand but it’s hard to dismiss the polish of their games. My main concern is I play hardcore modes and I’m not sure blackout has this mode, and switching between core and hardcore is quite jarring. The times I’ve be first to get my shots in only to stop shooting early to conserve my ammo and get killed

Re: Poll: Are You Buying Marvel's Spider-Man?

gingerfrog

I’m definitely going to get it, but like many people this far into the generation I have a backlog I’d like to get through of games I’m wanting to play so there is no point getting now, probably be cheap in the 12 days of Christmas sale. So I’ll look then
