@rjejr Yeah, I know what you mean. With the original Red Dead Redemption on the PS3/360 I never really felt any pull towards it, but my son raved about it and I gave it go.
Glad I did as I absolutely loved it! Great story, gameplay, characters, graphics and music....took me right back to playing as a cowboy when I was a little boy....yeehaaa! 🤠
Awesome game so far....but I can’t place a vote in the 3rd and 4th category because I’ve only just left the Lake Of Nine (after exploring everything that I possibly can) to continue the main story quest.
@themcnoisy Cool, thanks. Wow, I am honestly shocked that the bpm gradual changing functionality with software on a pc is inferior to Music 2000’s, which is 18+ years old 😲
@get2sammyb Haha brilliant, thanks for that, Sammy. I don’t own a pc and I’ve never used any other music creation software other than Music 2000, but I look forward to finding out more once Dreams is in my PS4 👍🙏
I’m personally very keen to find out what the music creation side is like. I’ve still got Music 2000 from PS1’s days and use it with the PS2. Made some banging toons (even if I do say so myself - they went down well at house parties).
@get2sammyb Oh Sammy....duh, obviously Bluepoint are working on a complete remaster of the 8 Silent Hill games (except Book Of Memories, cause...well, you know) completely rebuilt from the ground up!! Yep, Konami lurve their IPs sooo much...they are chucking million$ of gazillion$ of squillion$ at Bluepoint, and every single game will also have full PSVR support, playable in 1st person!!! 🤪🤪🤪
@fabisputza00 Ditto, a game with vampire stuff will always grab my interest, so I’ve been looking forward to this one since I first heard about it ages ago 🧛♂️
@gbanas92 Alan Wake was awesome, really like Remedy’s games. Never got round to playing Spec Ops: The Line and have only ever heard good things about it...so I think I’ll get myself a preowned copy of it at some point. Thanks for the chats 👍
@gbanas92 ooo, now you’re asking...um, no, I’m pretty sure they didn’t. I’ve still got my PS3 so that I can play Downpour (and Homecoming) when I fancy. I can’t list any of the licensed tracks off the top of my head though, and for the sake of this conversation, I think they are best heard when playing Downpour for their relevance to it’s unfolding story. For what it’s worth, I just remember being impressed with quite a few of the tracks chosen.
Oh my lord, of course....an April Fool’s! Jeez, for a moment there, whilst reading this article, I thought what an absurd idea, they can’t be serious???
@gbanas92 Downpour no longer had Akira Yamaoka’s genius, and Daniel Licht did the score, which was still great imo. But there was also a licensed soundtrack, and I think the choices were amazing - they really suited the mood of the game, well worth a listen 👂
Apologies if someone’s already mentioned this, but I think one of the good aspects of remasters/remakes is that for someone who’s never owned a Sony console, or a youngling who’s first console is the PS4, they get to experience some excellent games firsthand, particularly (imo) when it comes to Sony’s first party studios.
@smelly_jr I’m sure that I’ve read/heard ages ago that George Lucas said that he wasn’t an actor’s director, more a scene director (or something like that), which I think is quite true, but Ian McDiarmid was an epic choice to play Palpatine.
@smelly_jr I like Attack Of The Clones too, and the rest of the prequel trilogy. For me, they got better with each one. Loved watching Palpatine’s grand manipulations and his rise to power.
@sinalefa lol, ditto....
I bought Rise not long after it was released for the PS4, started it to see what it was like, liked what I played but not returned to it since (still got the disc).....like soooo many other games I own. Oh the woes of 1st world problems: finding/making the time/desire to experience an illusion 😔🤔🤨🙃🤪😉
‘The Shawshank Redemption star Clancy Brown.’ He’ll always be Kurgan to me....it’s better to burn out, than to fade away! Anyway, really enjoy Quantic Dream’s games and am looking forward to playing Detroit.
@RogerRoger Wow, thanks for including me in that, much appreciated. What you’ve written was well articulated and I enjoyed reading it. I haven’t bought The Station and had completely forgotten about it. I may get round to buying it one day, but with such a monumental backlog of games, it’ll probably have been heavily discounted by the time I get to considering it 😊
@RogerRoger yeah, absolutely. To be able to articulate your experience into a review requires skill. I like to read reviews on the same game or movie from different sources, just to get a broader picture.
Yeah, I love reading reviews of games and movies but when all’s said and done, it’s not your experience you’re reading, it’s someone else’s, and you know the sort of games you’re going to gravitate towards.
Great news for GTA5 if true, as the franchise desperately needs to generate some sales to make a modicum of profit and get it back in the top ten. Poor GTA 😪
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi yeah, I thought Far Cry 4 was overall boring too. Still technically a good game, but I don’t remember much about it, was a bit of a chore to play (for me). This dlc for 5 sounds awesome though. Good choices made by Ubisoft, in my opinion.

@teatimed That’s my exact sentiments too! Loved Alan Wake and Quantum Break and am looking forward to seeing what Remedy’s new game is.
Re: Feature: The Promising PS4 Games of May 2018
Detroit for me, but if the option was there for multiple votes, I’d also add my interest for Tacoma and Omensight.

Awesome game so far....but I can’t place a vote in the 3rd and 4th category because I’ve only just left the Lake Of Nine (after exploring everything that I possibly can) to continue the main story quest.

@themcnoisy I’m afraid I don’t know what DAW or Reason is, other than I guess your talking about music creation software 🧐

Yeah, excellent price, as others have stated. Possibly £24.99 in the UK?

Not relevant to this month, but I really enjoyed Silent Hill: Downpour’s licensed soundtrack (full disclosure: SH fanboy)

This dlc for 5 sounds awesome though. Good choices made by Ubisoft, in my opinion.
