the story? - Batsh*t crazy. I think its the end of the world, some kind of monsters/aliens/ghosts. It's pure Kojima madness. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

the combat? (heard that there is next to none if any) - Bit of shooting. But hardly any. 100hrs walking, maybe 1 hour combat.

the gameplay? (walking?)... and walking and walking. Some driving (eventually) some building (roads, bases)

can any fan explain the game to me? - I wasn't a fan. I completed it, but it's basically post apocalyptic postman pat, with weird monsters popping up.

However. A fan will say the exact opposite of what I've just said, and will call it a masterpiece.

Well, that's one less game to add to the pile. Shame really the trailer looked pretty good.

Fidelity for me. When I switched to the others the game lost most of its colour pop. It looked very grey and washed out.
And I couldn't tell the difference between the 30fps and 60.

I guess it could depend on the tv you're using.

@Kienda Nah.. It's got to be using "Holiday" instead of Christmas...well it is for me.. Working in a Christmas section of an American owned company. Don't get me started on the date format they use. 😂

Starting to get excited about this after realising its June next week. Apart from the original announce trailer I've ignored everything on this, I don't want to know anything about it until I actually play it. Like when they were released on the PS2.
Might even buy a pink blow up chair to go full on nostalgia mode.

I will get it, but the pile of shame is huge. So paying full price for a game to go unplayed for 6 months.. Or longer is silly.
Day 1 is saved for my God tier games now.

Probably won't go for the platinums.
If going for a trophy takes the enjoyment out of the game, I don't tend to bother.

How long are the games?
I've gotten into JRPG style games recently but the backlog is massive, and adding games that mega long doesn't help...and tbf won't stop me adding to the pile.

Not firmware or rumble related but has anyone's sticks split? I've had mine since launch and the left stick's rubber split last week. Sony seems to think its just damage so not covered by the warranty, and amazon time has passed.
Needless to say my reply to that was not in agreement. I've replaced it myself but when replacing both, it caused drift on the right. So now have one old and one new stick.

I don't mind it. If the game is good and not stupidly short. Then I think it's worth paying for.

If I'm not sure about a game I'll either wait for the reviews or a price drop. Not getting a game on day 1 isn't the end of the world and if you think it is, then Jesus I wish I had your life.

@ThomasHL The ps5 is just a graphical etc upgrade. If you want that and to play the Yufi dlc then you'll have to buy the PS4 version to get the upgrade AND pay extra for the Yufi dlc. Probably not worth it if all you want to do is play it once.

You won't appreciate the whole prequel vibe to it and Goro's story build up.

Good, but found it dragged a bit. I did like how you start hating Abby and (for me anyway) end up rooting for and feeling a bit sorry for her too.
Haven't played GoT yet. It's on the pile.

The people getting all pissy over it winning GotY really need to take a look at themselves and maybe get laid. It's just an award. For a video game. Stop embarrassing yourselves.
