Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for September 2021?

themcnoisy

Yay can't wait to play Hitman. Gonna snipe from the sidelines and tell everyone how terrible this selection is. Demon Souls / Ratchet and Clank or Miles Morales. They are the ones we want. Sony is now just a carcass left in a locker compared to the start of the PS4. Looking at this selection was like finding my wife killed by Santa. Funny for a second then you realise what's happened and it wasn't a rotund happy go lucky hairy guy with loads of presents who killed her but a slaphead walking barcode battler dressed as santa. My life is ruined. Noooooooo.

Re: PS Plus September 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

The reality is Sony have to go big or go home.

Overcooked is a marmite game. If you like that style awesome, if you don't its monotonous and stressful with a less than elite memory.

As for Hitman 2, of course it's a great game. But when Hitman 3 is here it feels like a letdown.

Predator could be decent but the reviews are all bad so yeah. Not a great month for me. We badly need some big big games.

"you don’t have to spend hours clicking on every random bit of wall to find secrets"

Such an important part of the review so thank you for pointing this out. I purchased Doom 64 a week or two back and it's frustrating rather than fun. The shooting is great but the route finding is rubbish. I can't ever see myself picking it back up.

Glad Quake is different in this regard.

Re: PS5 Revision Teardown Prompts Cooling Concerns

I've got a PS5 and I can't believe how bad it is. The made up nonsense about the PS5 that is. The PS5 is boss and works like a dream. It's flipping massive though and Im not a fan of the dual sense due to the weird holding position, but the PS5 is great. Go get one and join us.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut?

themcnoisy

I'm all for dlc of a full single player game and if its £30 for a 20 hour campaign with a extra fluff - I would rather have that than microtransactions. For one reason or another (Rocket League and Dreams) I didn't pick up ghost, so really excited to give it a go. So for me the diatribe I'm reading in the comments is hyperbolic. Now y'all can get back to paying £3.99 for 460 diamonds while the proper gamers have some fun on PlayStation 5.

(Or moan about £10 which is literally 5 bottles of coke)

@MinerWilly if you are overwhelmed now get ready for the 10,000 game steam library

You are just older mate. It's happened to me the last 12 months. I had psnow and it would have been amazing when I was school age. Home at 4pm, homework, tea, game till 9 and go to bed. Then on a lazy weekend. I can only dream of being available at 4pm most of the time and weekends? What are they anymore? With kids, cars, mortgages and other responsibilities it's difficult to find 40 hours to play a AAA game.

Gaming is a damn good and relatively cheap hobby, we have more games than ever and there is nothing stopping you jumping on some retro stuff. But your problem would likely be time especially as you've played manic miner and could be around my age.

Re: RIP PES Trends as eFootball Attracts Ire of Footy Franchise Faithfuls

@Dr-M Pes 2018. It's the best this gen. 19 has issues with ball bouncing and you could see the focus towards a more FIFA focused game, it was still good though. 18 for me was perfect, awesome on the passing and strategies that make sense. The ML is a shadow of its former self but still ok. Running a league or world cup is great and the online myclub mode was fun as it was massively misbalanced and I had Lukaku, Maradonna, Veratti, Lacazette and Alderweireld within the first few hours of playing. Within a week I had added Batistuta, Pique, Maldini and a couple of players I can't remember the name of (Real Madrid sub LB at the time and Atleticos midfielder). It was fun and didn't need to buy any extra credits as your team was OP within a few weeks and you win loads of players in competition.

@crazykcarter They look sweet, I was considering one but the bucket seats and look of the Corolla is just boss. So comfy. Interior is like someone designed a car for me. Loads of front space and hardly any for my Xbox playing kids. Minimal but classy. Win win. I've gone for obsidian blue rather than the bi tone and can't wait to see it! Currently in an 11 plate Yaris after my work car scheme became stupid expensive, it's embarrassing but knowing I can run it into the ground for 2 months is awesome. Haven't been this excited since Sonic Mania was announced.

Re: PS Store Planet of the Discounts Sale Has Almost 500 PS5, PS4 Game Deals

@zekepliskin Godfall is great, however that comes with a few massive stipulations. Do you want great melee combat, sweet graphics and some amazing arenas to battle in with a lot of grinding? For me that's a yes and love it.

The story is weak (the lore is pretty fun though), you do the same stuff all the time, there's no real meta and it's there is an easy option which no one should ever pick, like every reviewer seems to have.

In fact that last point is why Souls is held in high regard, putting an easy option in it would garner a 5/10. Do not pick easy.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

@The_New_Butler it's not just MS I'm having a go at here. Although they are pushing it way more than Sony. It's the way gaming is going in general. It will be an all digital future similar to the music industry. I would prefer it never went that route. Gaming is cheap anyway. The only thing going all digital is doing is giving us more homogenised games and no outlets to purchase games from or to trade them in with. So inevitably we will all be on subs especially big gamers like you and me compared to a Cod / FIFA player.

I honestly don't mind paying money for a good service but I have been getting that for 35 years since I could game. Playing thousands of games. I've never been bankrupted because of gaming. That could change if you have 5-6 subs on monthly Direct debit.

Ubisoft, Square, Take 2 and all the third parties will end up with services and that will just mean more and more exclusivity. Or rather more and differing subs with even more microtransactions.

It's all speculation of course but I was bemoaning Mass Effect 3s micros and could forsee where we are now. It will happen and all the gaming outlets like Game will close. Then you will have to sub and the subs price will go up.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

@The_New_Butler Both MS office and Xbox gamepass are Microsoft thing as. It's not the end of the world if gamepass becomes the defacto way we consume games, Its that I didn't have an issue with gold/ps plus (approx £5 a month) and buying the games I want retail and trading them when done. Occasionally dipping into digital sales. If we end up paying £20-£25 a month, well yes I will buy less games for sure and the ones I own won't necessarily be what I want to play.

Here is an examples. I bought judgement for £25 and once I'm done will trade it for maybe £15. It cost me a tenner for a game over the next 2-3 months as I play these games slowly. To do it over Xbox will cost what £30 now and maybe £75 in the future? That's a worse deal. Also my local gameshops will close down.

Digital is the future but as a gamer who spends a fraction on my hobby than I've ever spent on music production, cars, houses and kids I don't want everything on tick. It's nice to own things and games are cheap.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

@The_New_Butler I don't actually mind Microsoft per say. I use Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and gamed on the Xbox and 360. My big issue is their subscription model. Office is a rip off and that's exactly the line gamepass will eventually follow. Office is great, but not worth £100+ for every pc user in my office. I've considered going all in with Linux but we have massive compatibility issues as everyone else uses office.

For instance you now have pay mechanics in solitaire which has always been free. It's just dirty and unnecessary. The sub method makes sense to a company but it will also cut off a significant amount of jobs in the retail space - which I still enjoy going to. And it's not as if gaming has been Uber expensive to start with. Buy a game you want - finish it - trade it in for 5/8 of the price rinse and repeat. My gaming hobby probably costs £400 a year or so all in and I play all the games I want to play, gamepass will be great for a couple of months and then will become similar to ps now which I haven't touched for months.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

themcnoisy

I've never seen so much praise for a subscription service which will end up costing £20-£25 per month. With games rammed with microtransactions. And you need a £150 additional controller as the Xbox X included controller is rubbish.

I've been living this Microsoft nightmare due to extortionate prices of Windows and I can see the same crap being applied to games. Long live Sony. Long live physical games and shops.

Re: PS5 Console Exclusive Godfall Is, Er, Coming to PS4

themcnoisy

I started godfall tonight and it's..... Actually my cup of tea. No idea why it's got such a bad rep, it's a 3rd person diablo with nods to GoW and the lore is alright imo. Different to anything I've played before which is also pretty cool.

I understand why others may not like it, but it's not 'trash'.
