TimeSplitters Future Perfect is the best PS2 game emulated so far. In terms of how it plays. Hope more games and emulated to it level (or better)

Had the odd bugs glitches and crashes with most others but TS FP I didn't have single issue

I would expect a PlayStation Experience return in December personally. Why do big showcase in September when 3 months later it's 30 years of PlayStation?

It's a shame this is how the rest had to get the Platinum. I really enjoyed the game and made friends with few people from Europe and USA playing Concord and chatting in game. Not seen that for ages in multiplayer as most people stick to party chats these days.

I was fourntante to get the Platinum without boosting a couple hours before the announcement was made about closure. If I didn't have 3 days off work I'd have had no chance. It was a very grindy Platinum and this boosting method would have driven me insane with boredom.

I got the Platinum for the game today and I did enjoy my time mostly.

It's pretty crazy situation though. I'll happily take my refund

As someone who used to play nothing but multiplayers and in recent years predominantly played single player games. I'm having a lot of fun playing Concord. It reminds me of older shooter where gameplay was only way to progress.

I despise games where you have to pay money to level up quicker, subscribe to season passes and all that nonsense. It's main reason I stopped playing multiplayers so much because they're all like this now but this one is refreshing change.

At same time in needs more content. Considering number of years it was apparently in development I feel it was missed opportunity to not have pve content as well.

I can see the game joining PS Plus Extra in October, I think then more will try the game and enjoy it.

I would love to know whats up with it because were closing in on 2 years of Premium and so far zero PS2 games have been added. This game will be the PSP version as well.

They just threw those limited PS2 to PS4 games in at launch from years ago , didnt even give them a PS5 version like all other classics and left it at that.

I honestly feel like Timesplitters is cursed franchise. Whoever seems to own it goes through financial trouble and a game never gets released.

I hope Embracer Group get blocked from buying anyone again. They had a lot of good studios and people but what have they got to show for it?

Hope all those who lost their job land on their feet soon and those who are still there find a better company to work for.

It fills me with great confidence that Bungie are reviewing other PlayStation Studio games as experts when they seem to be in their own mess. /S

@twitchtvpat they haven't added any PS2 games at all. All the launch PS2 Plus games were already available on PS4 years ago.
All emulated PS1 and PSP games get a PS4 and PS5 version with the bonus features, rewind etc. PS2 should be getting the same.

There shouldn't be a requirement for Sony to have an incentive to deliver something they promised and haven't met expectation on for paying subscribers. They need to address the issues and deliver. Which Sony usually do bit its been radio silent for a year so far.

Pretty poor that two of the very limited PS2 games we have are now leaving and still no new PS2 games added.

When are Sony going to come clean about the blatantly obvious PS2 emulation issues they are facing?

I don't think Premium is on a role if anything it's in need a revamp.
Not single PS2 game has been added since launch. Its nearly a year later. Looks like their is an issue emulating PS2 games and the games are sparse in terms of classics added. Did we even get any classic games emulated this month? Adding PS4 games feels like cop out for me. Considering the library of PS1, 2, 3 and PSP games we could play and sometimes these remasteres end up in Extra instead of Premium.
Extra is a brilliant tier for the price and games you get it's unmatched.
Subscriptions we're always going drop post lockdown covid and low PS5 stock. Now stock is up subs have increased!

@GodofCapcom yes 2021 they had it right for me with state of plays and the September showcase. Hopefully this year is shaping up to be similar

@Atreus97 I'm focusing on 20 PlayStation studios where over half have not made any new game announcement or update in the past 2/3 years.
The only ones we know of are Spider-Man, Wolverine and Factions. It makes people more naggy than normal for updates and frustrated more since it's coming up to 20 months since last major update on what PlayStation studios are working on.

I personally prefer this to few years ago where we had the same games at all the showcases on repeat until the released. But feel like an update is overdue now. Which we hopefully get in next couple months

Big difference to this year. Wouldn't say anyone was frustrated last year.

I only blame Sony for this. Whatever their marketing strategy for games is at the moment is leaving people frustrated.

Hopefully all is fixed in a couple months because it feels like Sony has a mixture of at least ten games to announce / dates to reveal for games

It's amazing it took Sony nearly 12 months to add this feature. Dark Mirror was rated for PS4 and PS5 in April 2022.
Hope to see this option with Battlefront 2 and Resistance Retrubtion when they add them to the service

@themightyant I prefer open critic as well. I also like that they clearly show who they consider a top critic. Might not agree with them all but is very transparent, at least.

Removing the two MLB games would roughly put Sony up to about 86.5 using Metacritic method. Minor difference. I dont like how much impact 4 reviews for GT7 on PS4 and 7 on Horizon PS4 have on the score. I think the limit of 4 reviews to score a game is far too low. It should be at least 20 for me. Considering some games get over 100, 4 is far too low. I guess part of that is small indies.
Critics should also be reviewing these version way more still. But that's another topic.

That's why I wouldn't average an average as it could be easily manipulated. Not saying it is, but the possibility is there if biased critics (either positive or negative towards a publisher) put 2 and 2 together.

Sony would be 88 roughly if did an average of every review received.

I'll stop going on now though. I've had my pedantic moment for the day lol

@themightyant I only talk about the average because there is no mention of the actual points in the article. I think there is very little focus on that part, and most only look at the average review score for the year.
You are right though, that there are bonus points for the great games, and they should be too! It does impact if people look at it from a point's perspective. I'm just pedantic over it, Sony would still be the second-best ever score pointwise, but they could have celebrated setting a new average record. Instead, we get a rather negative tone celebration post from Metacritic.

No list of games but it's easy to work out as there are 15 titles with scores and 10 distinct ones. Averaging the average scores of the below games comes out at 85.6

@themightyant That's how the scores are calculated for the individual games.
The calculation behind that should be used for the publisher as well. Taking all individual scores with the critic's weighting applied to them under a publisher. Combining the scores and dividing by the total scores to get the average.

And making sure all the games were published by the publisher. Which they haven't done. They've included the version of MLB Sony didn't publish, regardless of opinion of average vs an average of averages. They've still done it wrong.

@ThomasHL I do get your point, but for example an average of average increased Xbox score last year. Only marginal, like 0.3 difference. So you could argue that's biased because some low-reviewed games increased scores (Psychonauts on Xbox One)

It's labelled as Average Metascore. So that's what should be calculated for me. An average and an average of an average are two different things. I know I'm been pedantic but this is what I do every day with my work ha.

This would mean something if Metacritic did averages correctly.
They're doing an average of an average instead of adding all publisher's reviews and dividing by the total review to calculate an actual average.
It also looks like they're adding games not published by Sony.
It says 15 titles 10 distinct, but I cant figure it out. Unless they are including MLB on other platforms, which Sony doesn't publish. Not doing a great job for site who's entire purpose is to average scores

@Tharsman The PS5 console bundle with God Of War. The game will make people move to PS5 (even though on PS4 as well) In return some will subscribe to Plus.
Sony has mentioned Plus is doing well on PS5.

I don't blame them, people take for granted how much time and effort it takes to keep up to date with news and to centralise it in one location. Whether it a social media channel or a website etc.

They asked for small support after year's of free content and struggled to get it.

Then you got Twitters new issues to add to the frustration

PlayStation didn't even tweet about the game on it's launch until late in the day, for the UK anyway and it had total lack of marketing.

What's point in making people work on these games if they aren't even going to promote them?

Sony has also changed this week how it displays games leaving soon on PS Plus

Before you could see the leave date but now you cant. Rez Infnite is leaving soon but no one knows when. I wasn't sure if this would be worth an article but I sent examples to Liams messages on Twitter. As his DM are open and just dropping message here too.

Just hoping the issue can be raised and fixed. As it's annoying not knowing when games will leave now. It's been like this since the games refreshed

PlayStation's highest number of reported active users was 114 million during the peak of Covid 19 in Q1/Q3 FY20.
Xbox reported 100 million in January 2021.
Not sure this statement from Xbox works out.

Wondering why Microsoft is adding console sales together instead of the actual active users they both report.

Also, ignoring the fact that if they all switched from PlayStation. That's a lot of PS Plus subscriber losses, and then new subscribers gained on Xbox Gold /Gamepass. Subs are one of the concerns raised by the CMA

The AI needs work on this game. If you get too close to some enemies they will just stand and look at you instead of fighting. On the mission surrounded you can run into the enemies, and they won't even notice you. It tells you to stealth but other than the spotlights there is no need to

I also had weird bug where the game would start in what I assume was Chinese and had to quit the game and restart for it to fix. This happens a few times.

It also sent me back to the menu at the end of each chapter. No idea if this was a bug or intentional but some chapters would consist of a cutscene only. So you finish the previous chapter, return to the menu, load the next chapter, watch a cutscene, return to the menu, then load the next chapter to finally play again.

This is due to players trying to exploit the carrying over of subscriptions to this service. I tried to do this earlier today by stacking a couple from Shopto.

Contacted PS Support live chat and the person was helpful but couldn’t resolve.
They asked for the codes and tried to add them to my account but they were all showing as valid but not activated. Said I had to go back to retailer to advise codes weren’t activated.

Elden Ring is the easiest Souls game I played with the easiest trophy list.

Bloodborne I found the hardest

Dark Souls 3 is incredibly grindy for some trophies so this doesn’t surprise me at all.

I’m really surprised that people prefer Ratchet and Clank PS4 to the original ?

The story is so much better in the original to me. Sure it looks better technically but a modern remaster of same story would have been better than a remake. They literally abandoned a sequel to the PS4 game as well and went back to the future series which followed the original trilogy

I always get confused with THQ and Koch Media. Isn’t Saints Row Koch Media ? Or will showcases be both because they have same parent company ?

If it’s both then we might get some TimeSplitters News / update on Free Radical. That’s one I’m most interested in

That trailing mission in Chapter 3 felt like it was never going to end. Killed the entire flow of the DLC for me but still really enjoyed it

TimeSplitters Trilogy, Onimusha Trilogy, Splinter Cell Trilogy, Hitman games, Medal Of Honor, Ratchet and Clank Trilogy, Prince of Persia Trilogy. I could go on but I think there are a lot of gems just here...

@nomither6 yes I got bombarded with comment on YouTube 😅 so it’s definitely affecting a lot of people. Some said free to play games work but not been able test that as I’m out
