@Ogbert I think that "kids" games really means games that are accessible to kids. As an adult, I play whatever I darn well please. I played last month I played Rift Apart and DMC 5 back-to-back and it was fantastic. Haha!
I'm actually a tad surprised to see Sonic Mania on here. Don't get me wrong, Sonic Mania is my favorite Sonic game of all time, but that final boss kicked my trash, and I'm a grown-a adult. Haha!
Oh wow... dang it Sony!! Making me want to spend my money and stuff! That's genuinely a good addition. I played Nier last month and it jumped to my personal top 10 of all time.
I find it kind of off that games with a single narrative look to add a director's cut to the game. If the game has a lot of different levels then maybe it can fit in.
Take GoT, that one kind of makes sense because the whole game is basically broken into 3 levels, so adding a 4th is possible without breaking the narrative.
However, TLoU:2 doesn't make any sense because the game has one linear narrative. If they were to add or subtract from what is currently there then it could break the flow of the game.
But really, all I want is more haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in my games. After playing Astro's Playroom and Rift Apart, there's no going back. I'd pay for that. Hahaha!
My parents wouldn't let me play games like Dead Space when it first came out and I've never gotten around to playing any of them. I'm so stoked for this one!
Honestly, I can't be mad about the 1440p 60fps version of the game for PS5. Really. I didn't think this game was even going to come to PS4 and PS5 after how aggressive Xbox has been about PC and console exclusivity this generation.
@Omnistalgic ...Please no. Hahahaha!! Honestly, how many people can actually afford a machine that expensive? Costs may go up, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came at the cost of losing quite literally tons of fans. I finally got a PS5 last week, but I wouldn't have paid a dime more for it.
I feel like prices for gaming is a bubble that's on the brink of bursting, you know? Games, game consoles, game production, and PC parts are all going up in prices drastically. Something has got to give or things might start to fall apart.
I've started renting games online because I can't afford the new stuff. I hope companies don't get too greedy from all of this.
@Daleaf Heck, after using the PS5 controller, I can't play games without rumble. It's amazing how much receiving physical feedback changed how I play games.
Not going to lie, once you experience haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, there's no going back. Finally got a PS5 last week and I've been losing my mind over the controller ever since.
@PeakyBlinder I don't know about that entirely. I'm a huge fan of Sony and their first-party titles and I still think that this $30 price tag is pretty darn steep. Ghost of Tsushima is easily one of the greatest games I have ever played in my life and the first game I got a platinum in, but I'm still pretty apprehensive about handing over $30 for this.
@get2sammyb Hold on. I am so confused. So if you pre-order the $20 upgrade right now then you just get the whole game digitally forever? It that right? I own the game physically right now. Does that mean I would have two copies of the game or does that mean I have access to the full game until it releases in August? I don't get this at all.
So, just to be clear, if I already own the base game on PS4 then I need to pay $30 to get everything for the PS5 deluxe version, correct?
I know everyone in the comments is pissed about the pricing, but I couldn't care less. I paid $40 for this game and after 100%-ing it, I can easily say that I felt $40 was WAAAAAY too little for the experience I had. I'll happily put $30 in Sucker Punch's pocket simply as a thank you for their incredible game.
I was pretty bummed when the reviews for Mario Golf came out this week and were (no pun intended) sub par. I was still in the mood for a golfing game, so I've been having a fun time playing through What the Golf. It's gotten me to laugh out loud more than a few times.
I played through the demo not too long ago. It was just okay to me. The combat felt off to me. You'd be chopping up a badie and then a button prompt would come up. You push the button prompt and it plays a mini cut scene of you killing the badie. This was cool once or twice, but it got old fast. The conversations, though, were the nail in the coffin. The devs decided to go with a graphic novel approach. It really slowed down the pacing for me. Not a day one purchase for me.
Unpopular opinion, but if Sony wanted to rake in some serious money, all they would have to do is create their own launcher on PC. I know PC players would hate this, but then Sony wouldn't have to split the profits with another company. If Sony did that, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw all of their flagship exclusives come to PC.
Work has been really stressful for me this week, so I've been curling up with Captain Toad Treasure Tracker on my down time. It's a great game to unwind.
The loading times alone are what I'm the most excited about. I tried playing the game on hard back when I first played through this game, but the loading times took so long that I bumped the difficulty level down just so I would die less and see fewer loading screens.
I do agree with you @AFCC. It is surprising to me how these games still struggle to hit actual 4K 60 fps on these new consoles. Then again, I think about what games looked like from the beginning of the PS4 era compared to the end. It'll be amazing to see what game companies will be able to do with these consoles in 5 or so years from now.

To be honest, I don't usually get that jazzy for my birthday either, but I will almost always get jazzed for a sale. Haha!
